D23 2015

Let's just be thankful they are adding things. I'm sure it will be incredible! People used to go to school in a one room school house, chop wood for heat, and tend to fields by hand for food and they were HAPPY! Let's all rememberer how far we have come! Just be excited not knit picky!
Disney used to build entire parks in a couple years. These are just themed lands. With disneys money this should not take 4-5 years to build. I'm very happy it's happening but we have to be realistic as well.

How much is your "gold day" ticket gonna cost in 2021 to see Star Wars?
$150 a day without breaking a sweat...
Yoi

At least I recently found two 6 Day All-In-One passes that I purchased back in 1998. Each one still has three days on them so I'll be using them when the Star Wars attractions open unless I've passed on to the next dimension.

Yes, 2017 is fairly pathetic in terms of the construction start date. They'll have Pandora completed at AK by then so the spending on Star Wars will not dilute the profit margins as much if they had both projects under construction at the same time.

If ever one needed it, boards like this always provide a reminder that there is no way to make EVERYONE happy.

You're making excuses and they haven't earned one...

The park has been half closed for a year...they have had no excuse to not have the design work done or nearly complete...there is nothing else going on in the park that requires completion first...

Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Any announcement with few details and a bloated timeline is gonna be the target of hostile fire...and we're only in day one.

That's really not unreasonable.

They are planning on pumping out 5 movies...and god knows how much associated crap...by the time this will open. And that's assuming its good material - far from a given.

They may be over saturated for this by then.

This is the first bad move with Star Wars that Disney had made. They don't seem to get it here.

You're jedi training will be complete soon enough...

;)

As long as everyone keeps going to DHS even in its current state, Disney won't make an effort to build quickly. It took about 5 years for Disney to realise that DCA (a brand new theme park) wasn't working and that they had to re-do a big chunk of it, simply because the locals were not going. How long has it taken for them to realise that DHS wasn't working?

I think it's possible they will start on the DHS Version sooner as they are already preparing the area. There seems to be more to work out at DL logistically.

Maybe they think that working on both Toy Story and Star Wars is too much at the same time? DHS is already a mess and certainly more will have to shut down during construction.

I don't know...2017 ground breaking seems pretty ludicrous.

I don't think they have figured that out at all...

Not with 10,000,000 gate ticks at $100 piece.

What they are doing is exploiting their purchased brand...five years of movies for product sales... Reboot it in the parks for 5
Years+ of product sales.

These guys are Always the "smartest guys in the room"

But you know what? It's consumers fault.

Have some consumer dignity and just don't got to a half closed park. You're hurting yourselves.

The only urgency Disney has show has been with lagging attendance...

Paris, Hong Kong, DCA...they could care less what you get for your money if you have no concern yourself.

You are right. The consumer gets what they pay for and if the product is subpar then it becomes their fault after a point. We skipped DHS during our last trip for this reason and with us only visiting Disney parks for two days that amounted to a little bit of money saved.

Disney Magic Kingdoms mobile game (iOS & Android) announced - sounds like fun!

@DisneyInteract tweets:

"Just announced: #DisneyMagicKingdoms. A mobile game to build your own @disneyparks with attractions around the world. http://t.co/uW3WO89wvI"

""The game is a magical, representation of the parks - plus some fun storytelling and surprises." - Walt Disney Imagineer Tom Morris"

I don't quite get the #StarWarsBattlePod they're showing now... What exactly am I getting??

I assume it's the kind of thing you see at an arcade, right? Though I know someone who probably would buy one if he could...

Battlefront looks incredible (Avail Dec 1 if preordered).

Am I correct that it is NOT on WiiU or Mac? Does this mean I have to buy PS4 or something?!? :-/

ETA: Well, there you go. I guess I'm not alone. Announcing a SW PS4 console/bundle. Nov 17 launch. FINE!!!!!
