2016 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: September 14 - November 14, 2016

Just came back from our F&W visit and was disappointed to find that the Figment salt and pepper shakers were sold out. Sorry if this is a repeat

We just got back too and were told by CM that the shakers were sold out early on. Guess search eBay? Sure was hoping the ladies purple festival shirt would be back in a large since they are running small.

Missed if I got an answer. Are the AP wine glasses you get just a souvenir or are they used some way at F & W? Thank you

I think they are just a souvenir bc you pick it up somewhere in the park after visiting 3x I believe.
My DH is on his way there now for his first visit.

So, I'm sure someone has already rang the alarm, but I couldn't find it in my search so I wanted to make this known. You can't use your food & wine vouchers on any type of beer flight or wine flight. I believe this is a rule they've enacted mid-festival because I had previously read that you could use them on any of the offerings. Even a local who was in line next to me was telling me that the best deal was to use the voucher on the wine & cheese flight and that he had done it on past weekend visits. We just visited Oct 14-18. I find the rule weird because they accept the voucher for an $11 Grey Goose slushie, but not a $9 beer flight. I'm sure there's some reason behind it though.

Just FYI. If someone's already mentioned this, I apologize for the repeat.

The rule restricting vouchers for beer flights has been there since the beginning. It was there last year, too.

I'm sorry if this has already been asked, but I'm wondering if you can use the sampler vouchers over a few days or do they need to be used in one day? Thanks!

I am looking at the back of my "sampler" credential thing and it clearly indicates the exclusions. THey didn't change them, but as usual some CMs don't know the rules and let you use them for things you aren't suppose to creating the confusion.

Back from another great F&W Trip. Weather was PERFECT... couldn't have asked for any better!! Our dates were 10/13-10/19 and we hit Epcot on several different days and got to sample quite a bit. I even tried the duck in China which left DH completely in shock as I'm not an adventurous eater although I'm sure the alcohol was a contributing factor to my braveness, but we'll just keep that to ourselves :upsidedow.

I was a little worried about what the crowds would be like this year after seeing how scarce room availability at the resorts have been, but IMHO, we didn't find the parks to be all that crowded nor did we find Epcot to be that bad even on the Saturday night we were there, 10/15. Some of the lines were long, but I don't think we waited more than 10 minutes in any single line - they really moved quickly and I have to say we hit quite a few kiosks :).

Our wine pairing luncheon at Tutto was on Friday, 10/14, and once again, it was PHENOMINAL!!

Here's the menu we received at Tutto:

Already booked for same week next year under an agency exclusive deal and cannot wait!!!

We just got back from our first F&W on Saturday and we loved it! We visited Monday, Wednesday and Friday of last week and really enjoyed it. I kept getting overheated so I had to overnight a Frogg Togg to the hotel but it worked wonders and I was able to enjoy Tuesday on through Saturday. I loved the scallop and the beet salad! We had the filet in Canada several times and I found it to be hit or miss. It was delicious Wednesday but overcooked and tough on Friday. My boyfriend is a picky eater and I tend to have a smaller appetite so I ended up not getting to try all I wanted, since it's almost impossible to split things with him, but that's okay....it just means another trip next fall! Overall we really enjoyed it and got so lucky that we had such beautiful weather all week. Saturday morning was quite chilly, but if a small chill is the only "bad" weather to have experienced, it was great!

I am so thankful for everyone's amazing contributions and help in this thread, because it made our trip really rewarding.

Just back for 3 days this past weekend at F&W and as usual had a GREAT TIME!! Weather was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT this weekend. I have to say Saturday 10/22 was a ZOO! I don't think I've experienced crowds like that EVER, we left mid afternoon and headed to Disney Springs to avoid the mob. Sunday and Monday were SO MUCH quieter as you might expect.

Food in general was Amazing...loved the Scallops, the Chocolate Nitro desert is to die for! Lettuce Wrap is always great, this year was no different. The venison loin was very good....Garlic Shrimp in Japan was very tasty. Only real "miss" was the Beef Skewer from the Chew, meat was really fatty and chewy....

Chaka Khan was AWESOME on Monday night!!

I have visited on many Saturdays and they are definitely the worst, but you will be ok. Just know that you could be waiting in a food line for 20 minutes versus 5 minutes during the week

You would still have Sunday 11-when you leave for MNSSHP. Booths probably will be open earlier.

Yes, Saturday is really bad. You would be MUCH BETTER off to do Sunday right at opening until 2 or 3. If you must do Saturday be standing at the booth you want the most around 1040 am and have a game plan of must dos.

Thanks so much to those who advised me on a weekend strategy! We were there 10/14 - 10/17, and while it WAS crowded, it was manageable. Originally I planned to do Food & Wine on Saturday only all day, then do MNSSHP on Sunday night. I didn't want to buy a two-day ticket and only spend half-days in the park, thinking that's not the best bang for my buck. But I changed my mind and it was well worth it. We had a reservation for the Parisian Breakfast on Saturday morning, so that got us to the park nice and early and in WS when the booths opened at 11:00am. Of course, we were too full to eat anything for a while, so maybe that wasn't the best strategy. :rolleyes1 We toured around the countries before it got too crazy, heading from France to Mexico. By the time we got to Mexico, it was getting nuts (probably around 1:00). The line for La Cava was out the door of the pyramid! But the line for Gran Fiesta Tour was only 5 minutes, so we did that. After that we focused on a couple of the booths in Future World East and West and Showcase Plaza, rides and the Festival Center (wine demo was fun). Some booth lines looked long, but we didn't wait more than 5 - 10 minutes. The CM's seemed prepared for the influx. The crowds were not bad outside of WS. We left the park around 7.

On Sunday, we got there at opening and did some rides that we had not done the day before. We got to WS (Canada) at 10:30, prepared to wait until 11, but the booths for Canada and Greece opened up at 10:45. We toured all the way around WS, hitting all the booths we wanted to, and left the park by 2:30 to rest and get ready for MNSSHP. It got crowded on Sunday too, but certainly not as bad as Saturday. The longest we waited was about 5 minutes.

Going two days worked really well - we were able to try more things and not feel like we had to brave the Saturday night crowds to get everything in. Great experience, and I wouldn't be afraid to go on a weekend again. :)

Did Disney change the start time on the cheese seminars and What's Cooking With? I am almost certain they started at 10 or 1030 am in past years. both MDE and the food & wine site are showing a 915 am start time - isn't 9 am park opening??

I just noticed this and am less than enthusiastic about having to battle the rope drop crowds for both events. Oh well.

Not sure on the cheese seminars but the What's Cooking With definitely used to start later. For what it's worth, I attended one earlier this year and I was let in the International Gateway early along with those who had pre-opening breakfast reservations in Norway etc. (scanned my band to check). I was not the only one and when I got to the Festival Center others had come from the main entrance. Can't hurt to ask & even if they don't honor it, I believe they typically start letting "regular" people in ~8:45. Have fun!!

Yeah - it was a mistake on the first day. I was there the second day and they were no longer allowing flights. :(

Did not make sense to me ether as you point out the mixed drinks were more
