2017 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival: August 31, 2017 - November 13, 2017

this year we won't be able to go to Disney until Nov 12-18th and with the 13th being the last day of F&W I'm wondering what the last day is usually like. Do they still have all the food booths open and do they still have merchandise available.
Yes, all the food booths will be open throughout the last day of the festival. Some merchandise may be sold out. Some merchandise may be discounted.

We love F&W! We weren't able to make it last year so definitely excited about going this year. We will be there Oct 18-25 with rooms booked at Boardwalk Villas. There will be 10 of us so definitely have a large fun group!

This is great. Does the F&W usually start that early? I think I might do a mid September trip for the super low crowds and it's great that the F&W will coincide.

The festival's start date was moved back two weeks for 2017. It usually starts around the middle of September.

We're heading down for 10 days September 22 through October 1. We are hoping free dining is released that way we can grab that and have 20 free snacks.
last year all the food items, we were able to get all food items using snack credits. Plus we did a lot of the event last year which we will probably doing in this year

Same dates, same resort! See ya at F&W! :)

My daughter surprised me by asking if I wanted to head to Walt Disney World for the week that starts with Labor Day weekend. I didn't realize at the time that Food and Wine was starting early this year. It will be something completely new to both of us! (The timing of the trip is after I drop my youngest off at college and before I have to start teaching preschool.)

Is it just me who is eagerly awaiting booth menus? I know I am waaaaay ahead of myself. Can't help it!

I keep hoping they will start giving us some ideas, even though I know there's such a long time before they even start thinking about F&W. I've been staring at the menus from the last few years just salivating and attempting to make a budget for what could be there.

Actually according to the former head chef at Epcot, they started thinking about 2017 during the 2016 festival. Of course knowing Disney they won't be organized enough to tell us anything until the day after the event starts.

Really wish they would let us know about the events sooner then a few months out, I would imagine there would be some changes/additions to the presenters, but the hard ticketed events should have already been planned, as well as some of the musicians for the concerts. There are a few events I would have changed dates for if I needed to.

I've already purchased our tickets to the Swan & Dolphin Food and Wine Classic, so I'm locked in now, but still.

A lot of patience is required when it comes to the Food and Wine Fest! WDW starts planning the next year's festival as soon as the current year's festival concludes. I have no idea why they wait on announcing details for one of their most popular events of year. The "official" list of the bands for last year's Eat to the Beat concerts were not released until the day reservations could be made for the special events. About four years ago, the details for the special events, seminars, etc were not announced until the day before reservations started. With the festival starting two weeks earlier this year, hopefully detailed information will be released earlier than previous years.

We are still planning our fall trip, and originally were thinking the week of Thanksgiving. But now that I know how crowded that week is, I'm really pushing my DH to consider mid-October which would include F&W!! Kids have "fall break" which is only 3 days of school closed, so would still have to take them out for 2 days for a week long trip. Seems totally worth it though! We went to F&W in 2012 and loved it, I really hope we can make the dates work!

Hi all,
We went to one of the very first Food and Wine fests (I was still a teen) haven't been since.
What will the first day (Thurs 31st) be like crowd wise? I would imagine that weekend will be packed bc LDW.
IS there a preview day (heard rumors they usually do this day before?) and if so what are the hours usually?
Thanks!
