The walking dead amc #2

I thought Aaron & Enid did that to draw Oceanside to them. I wouldn't want to go walking towards Oceanside camp when they will just shoot anyone.

If that's the case, then it makes even less sense why Enid would shoot that woman immediately. Also, I believe in the beginning when Enid and Aaron were driving, Aaron made a comment that alluded to how Oceanside would just shoot anyone before Tara got there, so he was hopeful they wouldn't just shoot them off the bat. And I think they don't have many guns left either since Rick & Co. took most or all of them.

It seemed as if they parked the distillery truck in plain sight, while the car they were sleeping in was tucked in the little ditch away from the road, on the other side of the truck. So to me, they were either trying to draw Oceanside to them or were parked there awaiting Oceanside to show up because they were close by. Neither of those jive with how fast Enid reacted though, IMO.

Regarding the Carl spoiler above I will post in a spoiler post what I know about that...comic spoiler stuff
so if Carl was bitten by a Whisperer, that makes sense. Whisperers are the next BIG BAD that shows in the comics...after the Negan war and all the communities have been living nicely with leaders and trade established, the Whisperers show and they are the worst we have seen yet. Worse than Governor and Terminus and Negan....very bad. They actually cover themselves in the skins of walkers so they can walk with them unnoticed. So maybe one of them did bite Carl. The leader of this group has a daughter who Carl fell in love with, in the comics. So maybe Enid....or maybe this Saddiq is in place of the daughter and not a love interest to Carl. I bet it is. I bet this introduces us to the Whisperers. So they skip over the peaceful years of the communities living a productive life for several years. Maybe they have to speed up to the demise ofcertain people. The ones the Whisperers get.

So if the Whisperers are people, its weird they would bite another human like that, no? And why would that occur off-screen if its an introduction to the Whisperers? I feel like that would be a big moment. I think the theory is one way to explain how Carl lives/survives a supposed "bite", but I think we also know that Chandler Riggs is definitely leaving the show based on the news out there that his dad is mad and giving quotes to the press. I feel like there's still too much unfinished business with Negan and the Saviors for them to bring in the Whisperers at this point. But we will see!

I wonder if Carl will survive and they won't realize why....they won't know it was a Whisperer bite. They will think he holds the key to a cure. And that might lead down a different path than the comics.

What's wrong with Gabe?

The doctor had said he had an infection that was shutting his organs down. I think they hinted that it was from the walker guts he put on himself, maybe he had an open wound somewhere. Plus I guess the producers get tired of people always asking why they don't walk around with walker guts, now they can say see you can get sick and die.

Everything I have read today says that Carl is a goner and it impacts the rest of the characters for the rest of the season. I think the people who are saying “he’s not dead till we see him dead” are going to be disappointed. They’ve wrapped filming on the season, so it would be hard and costly to refilm the show so he lives.

My personal theory is that while writing this season they realize it sucked and they had to do something major to get viewers stay interested. Their options were Rick, Carl, Michonne, Daryl, or Carol, and Carl was the easiest target to make an impact and not tick people off. There aren’t many “if Carl dies we riot” shirts floating around the internet.

Scott Gimble said on Talking Dead that Carl’s bite will play out as bites do. That sounds like he’s not coming back from this one.

Well I wish they'd have offed Daryl instead. Carl is important in the comics. And important as the future generation.

I agree it's not really a big deal to talk about Negan and Rick story line. The comics are written and out there for anyone to find. Plus it's all over the internet. Also, they don't follow the comics exactly anyway.
Except for those of us who intentionally DON'T go out to find and read spoilers, talking about them here doesn't help. I don't come back to this thread until I've watched the latest episode (usually a day later).

While it's been months for us it's been only days or weeks for them. So weight gain won't happen for a while.
So explain Judith's growth. I swear she looks like she's 3 or 4 now.

The thing is, nothing is confirmed. I guess I look at it as a bunch of us hashing out possibilities, shooting holes in theories, supporting things that make sense, talking about "what if's" etc. If someone was coming here with a confirmed death or storyline, that would be different, and there are spoiler sites out there that know exactly what will happen next and have copies of scripts.

But I see us as just talking and analyzing and speculating. The show deviates so much from the comics that they really aren't spoilers IMO. And half the stuff we talk about is also discussed on TD. But I guess some see the comics as spoilers, which is why we will use the spoiler button more often.

I agree with this, I couldn't believe how big she was last night.

But since the comics are the basis for the show, that puts more weight to what happens in the comics possibly/probably happening in the show. It's more than fan speculation IMO. And not everyone watches TD.

Can we come off the Carl topic for a minute and try to figure out why Dwight is making sure everyone knows that Eugene was the one who helped Negan get out? Twice he said it, when asked if the truck had anything to do with it. So now Daryl is going to think his plan would have worked if not for Eugene. Making it very hard to be welcomed back into the group. I know Dwight was PO'd at Eugene, but throwing him under the bus??

I thought Dwight only said it once when Daryl directly asked him and I believe Simon was the other one who said Eugene did it when Maggie asked.

And how did Eugene let Negan and then get out exactly? Negan asked Eugene if he could make them more ammunition and he said he would. So is that how....cause then they could use all there firepower to shoot their way out? And now Eugene is making more bullets???? So then they should be light on bullets right now and shouldn't have been able to come attack Alexandria and Hilltop and Kingdom.

I don't think they told us what Eugene did. They said Eugene got them out, but did I miss how? Last we saw the saviors place was overrun with walkers.

I am guessing it had to do with playing music loud to lure walkers away. He had that idea with the iPod. He must have used something else. Plus, wasn't there music when Simon was talking to Maggie & he mentioned that was Eugene who got them out.

Also, I think all this talk from Chandler Riggs is suspicious. He tweets days b4 the episode pretty much saying goodbye which is totally against the restrictions they are contracted to. Then there is a whole interview released right after the episode where Chandler says he thought he was going to be on the show longer, but he won't. Then his dad is furious. I think this is all hype to convince people Carl will die in the next episode and the shocker will be that he won't. They know info gets out & I think they are purposely playing the fans.

I thought the tweet from his dad was suspicious too. I don't think the dad would mouth off like that about AMC and Gimple. I get that he was mad, but Chandler had a good run on WD. But I guess they said Gimple told Chandler he would be on for at least three more seasons, then apparently changed his mind and decided to kill him off, so that would explain the anger. It's all strange to me though.

I read a heartbreaking interview where Chandler said he was totally caught off guard. Here is an excerpt:

It was devastating for me and my family because the show has been such a huge part of my life for so long," he said. "For a few days, we didn't know what to do; I just bought a house in Senoia [near where the show films in Georgia]. That was a big deal that I wouldn't be on anymore."

It also talked about how he never thought Carl would be killed off because he is such a huge part of the comics and I guess Carl has some huge story lines coming up in the comics, which will not be explored on the show if he is indeed dead.

I go back and forth as to whether I believe he will die or not, but am leaning towards him not dying. You can all say "I told you so" at the mid season premier when he most likely will die.

I was thinking this too.

They don't say how, just that it was Eugene who got them out. I imagine we will see it played out in a flashback.
