Official Wine & Dine 2018

I was going to get my first-ever AP in October but now with May, I'm going to upgrade when I get there. I have the Disney card too but I use my American Airlines one more because the benefits add up faster...which leads me to, "wow I have a lot of miles, back to Disney I go!" haha!
I don't have a Disney card, my regular card stacks up rewards much faster. I just want to make sure the party doesn't sell out before I decide to buy a ticket!

That's my fear too. These are my first ever runDisney events! I might have to bite the bullet sooner than later...

Any ideas how fast or if the party tickets sell out? I'm going to need one, but I'd rather wait a couple of weeks before buying it possible. My credit card is smoking with all my recent Disney purchases....

I don't know that they ever 'run out'. Disney has ended sales a couple weeks prior to the event in some years whereas in others they were selling them up to and at entry to the party.

A few weeks will be okay to wait in either case though.

Has anyone else had a issue with credit card fraud after registering? I've never had this experience and I only used this card to sign up for the half through active.com. Now my card has taken a tour of Texas and New Mexico (I live in Canada). I sorted everything out with my bank, but this is a really frustrating. From what I can tell active.com seems to have a lot of problems with credit card security.

Same issue here, almost $1000 worth of stuff charged to my card - never even thought it would have been the race registration!

Anyone get their Active links yet through a TA? I’m not used to this TA thing so I’m getting anxious.

I wouldn't stress about it. RunDisney can be pretty slow getting the TAs their Active links. I think I got my Active link for last year's Dopey a month or two after registration opened.

I figured just wondering if anyone else got it yet.

We have stayed at Pop the last few years for the race weekend but this year we are staying at the Wyndham Bonnet Creek timeshares just down Victory Way. The cost for a 2-bedroom condo is just about the same for one standard Pop room and we needed 2 rooms for four adults so it was a bit of a no-brainer for us.

Now the question....has anyone stayed at Bonnet Creek for a race weekend, and if so, was there a shuttle bus to the HM start at the TTC. Thanks!

would anyone know if the Christmas decorations will be up for the wine and dine half marathon weekend?
Thanks,
Jojo
MK decor should start going up that weekend. The Halloween party ends on the 31st and the first Christmas party is November 8th. The rest of the parks won’t be decorated yet though.

Last year not only were studios decorations up but they were playing Christmas music and the CMs were in their Christmas costumes at least during the 10k

FWIW they had started filming the Christmas specials for ABC/Disney/Freeform the Thursday expo opened

It's probably mentioned earlier but anyone know of TAs that might have 10k bibs? And they aren't requiring rooms this year, correct? We're DVC and my niece decided she'd like to join in if possible.

Park & Preston has been most able to waive hotel requirements for DVC so far. I would shoot Sarah an email - she’s great!

So for those of you waiting for an active link from booking with a charity or TA I got an email yesterday from my TA (Acclaim). Here is part of the email I received:
I am sorry there has been a delay in
Active releasing the links for both Running Groups ( like ours ) and the Charity Organizations for the Wine and Dine race

I talked to runDisney an apparently Active had to
rebuild the links from the ground up .

As most of you know even the General Booking links
were faulty and required an extra time to fix.
Active didn't start construction of our links
until they were sure the General links worked.
As of last night runDisney hadn't received
the corrected links yet
The links we receive are different from the General Links
as our links can be cancelled where as the
General Links cannot. And our links have no Active fees
So its a different platform they have to build

Don't Worry our race bib links were
already pulled from inventory before race
went on sale
and assigned to our running group.

That’s who I went through for Dopey!

Well I heard back from them and all they have access to at this point is packages with the hotel. Guess we'll just hope that some 10K open up at some later point or she'll just be doing a different first race at Disney.

Thanks again for the suggestion though!

I stay at WYNDHAM TIMESHARE* Bonnet Creek often for races - no shuttle: you'll have to secure your own transportation (car, Uber, taxi).

*I'm stressing the Wyndham Timeshare part because "Bonnet Creek" is an area with multiple resorts - the Hilton Bonnet Creek does provide some race transportation, the Waldorf might, and the Wyndham Grand, which is also located in the Bonnet Creek area sometimes does, too.

Yes, thank you; that was exactly the info I was looking for. I'll be staying at the WBC Timeshare and will have a car. I'll just have to convince my dear wife to get up early and drop me off at the race before she heads to the finish line area (or back to bed for a couple more hours).

Or alternatively, when we get much closer to the race I'll post a meet-up thread and several of us runners can ride share together.

Meet up update - think it will work better for most if we go with Saturday at 2:00. Will still be at Hurricane Hannah’s at the Beach Club resort. Hopefully that works for the majority of people. Look forward to meeting up with everyone. :)

I won’t be able to make it. :guilty:
