Perks you would like to see as a Platinum member

I would like to see. 10 percent off on more things shore excursions, spa, alcohol. Basically everything that has a charge.

But we all...or almost all agree...there should be one or two more categories. I vote for at least two. Honestly, it gives me something to aim for and I can’t believe they cap it at 10. I sell more cruises for them than a TA. This year alone I have “sold” 5 cruises. Everyone says DU should give me a kick back I promote DCL everywhere.

And yes, I want to be acknowledged as a big fan. Why not?

They really need to revisit this, because what with the double shows and the taking a2ay of the reception plus the lousy Canadian dollar, I am feeling a little tarnished.

Well what would be nice is st least the perception that Disney’s we give them the least amount we can get away with because we don’t have to philosophy might change sometime soon, but I’m a realist.
They are a for profit business and don’t have to yada yada yada, and that’s most probably the truth.
Al the time potential guests exceed supply then very little will be offered. If the balance swang the other way it could be different.
That’s the bottom line.
I could also be too cynical and I would love to be proved wrong in which case the stateroom credit being increased would be nice. You give all that back to DCL anyway lol !

See, I don't find that. I have 40 DCL cruises under my belt and I am treated no differently than any other guest (aside from the Platinum perks) which is fine. I have never had crew recognize that I have been on so many or say wow, you have been cruising with DCL since Day 1 and have 40 DCL cruises let me treat you special. Doesn't happe

Sorry to hear that, mmouse. :( I have several friends that regularly work on the cruises and they told me that the crew keeps info on very frequent cruisers, much like say, the Ritz Carlton, so that their crew can recognize them.

I have only done 10 sailings, though some were more than 10 nights, and I have had a few crew members recognize me. I was both surprised and delighted. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that you experience that your next cruise! :flower3:

I have been recognized simply by the platinum lanyard by many cast members, and mostly it’s “Thank you for sailing so many times with us.”

However, sometimes it’s more, especially when I’m recognized by CMs I have had before. I have 26 DCL behind me with 5 booked including a PC and TA next year. I would like to see a CC reception more often. On previous receptions, we have had delightful discussions with with officers.

Why don’t they just eliminate receptions except for platinum and do them on 7+ cruises, not 8. And if there are too many platinum, add a category and do a reception for them. I always appreciated the receptions. They could actually make them better too. Add entertainment as well. Since they are doubling shows, do one in the evening somewhere.

I'm a very frequent cruisers and I've never been recognized by crew as a frequent cruiser. Yes I've had crew recognize my face from a previous cruise only because the waited on me, but I really don't think the crew keeps info on frequent cruisers.

I've been o cruises where I'm the only platinum. I'm not sure that would work. A lot of the Caribean cruises are majority first time cruises.

I'm cynical enough to think that if they did add another level the Platinum level would get even fewer perks than they do now. But then I'm a sad person like that.

But any CC member can get that. I was hoping for a better discount for Platinum members.

For a second, I had my hopes up...I was really hoping it was something else...perhaps something I wasn't aware of. :)

I really don't think the crew keeps info on frequent cruisers.

While I won't take anything away from your personal experience, I know too many people very well, that work on the ships regularly as part of their role w/Disney and they have told me that they have even seen photos of frequent cruisers backstage to remind the crew working there that these folks are onboard.

Remember the Disney visa $50 drink credit? A shame they got rid of it but a drink credit for platinum members would be ideal.

Better stateroom gifts.

I agree a new tier would be appropriate and Diamond would be perfect.

Curious what percentage of platinum members are Florida residents and take advantage of special FL rates, or XGT rates last minute. There is the obvious advantage of less overall costs and therefore affording more cruises. In my late summer Dream sailing the past few weeks membership has totally jumped from locals taking advantage of lower FL fares. Even here I read people only live an hour from port.. So it could be that a larger % of platinum members are not high yield customers.. Hench no special rates.
