Oh man, do I feel the same way. Today was insanely stressful. In no way did I expect to commit as much time as I did to finding the right room for this cruise. It was absolutely insane. I wanted that Cat V room but now I’m having sticker shock and almost wishing I didn’t move from my GTD 5A :guilty:

After a very dramatic day of my friend not being able to come on the cruise, then deciding to go by myself on an inside room, then not finding any availability when I got up at 5 am pacific time, then refreshing constantly and finding a verandah on the 9 night and unsuccessfully trying to convince my family to come, then being un-cancelled on, then ending up halfway booking an oceanview and having the website freeze, then calling and being on hold for a while... I wound up with what I hope will be a very happy ending; an Oceanview on the 10 night sailing with my best friend! I don't mind its a GTY because I find it stressful trying to pick the perfect room anyway. I've got the countdown clock on the cruise app rolling and a year and a bit to get over the trauma of booking my first opening day cruise.

Glad it worked out!
That’s the cruise we booked and I just paid the deposit... my TA had the cruise on hold but now it’s paid...
Also gty oceanview and we are gold!
That’s all they had yesterday at 9!
Crazy couple of days indeed and bookings not even open to general public.

Yes, we live south of Kona and find that ships choose Hilo with its large safe dock, over tendering families into Kona pier

Just curious if pressed Kona coffee really a local thing

I just checked availability this morning, and the 9-night shows up but then won't let me book anything. I get the message "there are no staterooms available or no staterooms for your party size" even when I just searched for 1 adult.

The 10-night had inside, oceanview, verandah and concierge GTY rooms available for a party of 2 but nothing for a party of 3. So apparently some holds released a few rooms back to inventory but not much.

Enjoy your cruises, everyone!

I booked a Cat V and felt same as you. But we've since checked out a few videos and the concierge deck and lounge on the Wonder are incredible. Plus with a popular sail and quite a few platinum cruisers on board, we'll appreciate the added benefit of having their reservation team to assist.

We're in. My DH is eyeing an upgrade to a Cat T but I can't imagine doing it. This was a big enough leap for me.

I received the exact same results today, which I thought was odd. All cabins hold 2-3 people, so if none are available, why doesn't it show "none available" on the first screen (where you select inside/OV/Veranda/Concierge)??

We did a CatV on the Magic recently and loved it. Would have liked to get one for this cruise but none was available when our booking window opened. I think it is worth the extra cost because the Concierge hosts are usually terrific and very helpful.

Oh no-Feeling like buyers remorse? Just keep your eye out- a lot can happen between now and the actual paid in full date. Since your price is locked in, you can always switch to a lesser category even if you booked concierge. Your deposit will be nonrefundable but you can always switch to a lesser cabin category. Keep an eye out, sounds like availability is coming and going. Good luck!

I know this is waaay to early to be micro-planning but I was thinking about dining times..
Will they stick with the 5:45 and 8:15 times ( give take a a few)?? I was looking at port times and all are past the first seating time.. So do half the people skip out then and will they keep cabanas open later?

also with so many seas days I was thinking wouldnt first seating be better to break the day up? We preferred late on our Dream cruise.

Ooh I don't even know what our TA chose for us...
Ok I edited my response because now I'm confused ... Vancouver is 3 hrs behind from EST but Honolulu is 6 hrs behind... So what do we want ... Early or late I don't know.

What do you mean, "....looking at port times and all are past the first seating time."??? Onboard time is well before first seating time of 5:45 every evening except the night we overnight in Nawiliaili?? Perhaps I misunderstood your comment/question....

i‘m on the 9 night and our onboard times are 6pm/11pm and 5:45pm. First seating is usually 5:45 right. I figure most who get off don‘t come back early. I can see these ports being not like the carribbean where many stay on board or come back afternoon.

They may adjust dining times on these. They have done that in Europe before I believe.

In 2012 we had a late departure on our Maui day. We did a sunset excursion to Haleakala National Park (awesome and if you go pack some warm clothes as it’s a wee bit cold way up there!) didn’t get back to the ship until 9pm or so and Beach Blank (now Cabanas) was open, buffet style until late. DCL was aware that some would be out late so I wouldn’t worry too much about missing dinner.

I think they'll probably make the time either 6pm or 6:15pm so more people will have a chance to make it back. I'm guessing, but I think most people will eat on land the night they are there until 11pm. That's what we are planning to do.

Our Northern Europe sailing on the Magic this summer had an 11:30PM all aboard for St. Petersburg. For dining, they only had 2 MDR's open, as open seating--Lumiere's (6-8:30PM) and Rapunzels (6:30-9PM). Cabanas was a sit down meal from 4:30-7:45PM, and then a buffet from 10-11:30PM.

Also, the Europe sailings have the main dining times as 6PM and 8:30PM...so it's possible they could do that on your sailing as well.

I like that! Thanks for sharing.
