DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

I'm not a tech guy at all so I googled, username problem smart phone and it came up that I either needed to turn on or turn off "smart text". It is a proportional vs non-proportional font thing.
The font shouldn't matter. The apostrophe as well as quotes, dashes, etc are special characters. They are usually handled differently by computers and websites. Not to get too technical, but website actually have special ways of representing them and if the person who wrote the app or site didn't take that into consideration, it could cause problems.
The smart text setting probably sends the translated version to avoid the problem

I'll try to help you on Wed Randall

Morning boys from a quiet London, as the kids are back at school. Congrats to @Captain_Oblivious and his pesky Eagles. When Pedersen called the TO I knew Cody was gonna miss. I'm guessing he is not in Chicago this morning. Or maybe at the river. Or maybe in it. With a new pair of concrete boots. Hey Ho. There's always West Ham to carry on the disappointment for the foreseeable future.

Great advice there 007. Is her majesty's government providing legal counsel as well? :sad2:
All part of the 007 service, chief. You know, between saving the world on a bi-annual basis and guarding Megan Markle in the shower. Its a tough job but someone's gotta do it.
Do everything I wouldn't do.
Well that's a pretty short list.
She might like it though if you put lights in the holes in a blinking pattern:scratchin nothing like recessed lighting:cool2:
I like it. Although it might look a bit like the living room in Stranger Things.
Morning (well afternoon) guys from Cali Grill
Gotta love a bit of Cali Grill brunch action. Hope you enjoyed it.

Have a pleasant Monday fellas, and safe travels for those of you heading down to the shindig.

Morning boys.
been a busy few hours... Worked until 10:30 last night and drove home through the snow. Made it home about 11:10pm and then shoveled for the next 40 minutes. Got to bed and fell asleep around 12:45am.
You know how when you have to get up early, you start wondering what time it is?
Woke up at 2:30, 3:30 and 4:20 before the alarm went off at 4:30. Went out and shoveled for 40 minutes then got ready for work. DD21 decided to go to the gym and got stuck on the street so had to go shovel her out and rescue her. I wound up driving her car back up the street and back onto the driveway. She stayed home. Now I'm at work. Which is good... I can use the rest.

Congrats to @Captain_Oblivious and his pesky Eagles.

Ah! I hadn't heard the final. Last I saw, they were down 6-3 I believe in the 3rd. Congrats Mark.

Man, that is a lot of work. I totally do the waking up on the hour when I have to get up early. Its so annoying. And then I'm more awake as I'm annoyed with myself for waking up.

Morning all.

Back in the office for 2 days and then off to the World!!!

Oh and it's freezing here again.

Kickers get a bad rap, miss one kick and everyone wants to string them up. Good thing they don't hold other players to that standard.

I hope it's a quiet day at work.

And it's another Monday morning. Who let that happen? It's better than NOT having another Monday, but couldn't we just go straight to Friday.

All part of the 007 service, chief. You know, between saving the world on a bi-annual basis and guarding Megan Markle in the shower. Its a tough job but someone's gotta do it.

Guarding Markle in the shower? Bravo. Sure, I could do that for maybe 3 minutes.

I do hate those sleepless nights. I have a few on occasion as well. Glad to hear your daughter is ok, but of course the irony is she could have skipped the gym and shoveled snow for a workout.

Top O the Mornin Dads! Double Doink is what they are calling it in Chicago - tough loss. Looks like great minds think alike as outdoor Christmas decorations came down this weekend and DW started a bit on the inside. Have business travel Wed & Thurs of this week and then off to DDCC7 Friday on the 6:00 a.m. flight out. Have a good week gents.
Good Morning Dads! FYI, I am leaving to go to #DDCC7 tomorrow night and at the moment I will not be able to log into the DIS from my phone. When I try, I get the message, "User Name Not Found". Weird because here I am using my username from my laptop. I have reached out to DIS support for help and we will see what happens. Just wanted to let you all know.
I'll see you Wednesday.
I'll see both of you and the rest on Friday - taking off this time of year is just difficult.

A GO Fund Me Page has been started to help the Bears offset the contract they are gonna have to eat

I hear ya Darcy, but that kicker has hit 9 uprights this season and all bounce out.
And it's another Monday morning. Who let that happen? It's better than NOT having another Monday, but couldn't we just go straight to Friday.
Get a groundhog day thing goin?
Agreed. It's a bit like Goalkeepers in football. Also, if they hadn't gone for the 2 pointer, it would have been OT, but no-one's talking about that.
If they would have kicked the extra point to get to 16, Philly would have just kicked the extra point on their last TD instead of going for 2 and would have won 17-16. Unless of course their kicker would have hit an upright.

Morning Gents, Well, the holidays are most certainly over now that the kids are back in school today - oldest back to university and youngest in elementary. It was like looking at a pair of zombies at the breakfast table this morning. It's going to take a while for them to adjust to no more late nights and early mornings.

I joined in the de-Christmasing party and got all the indoor stuff down. The outdoor stuff will have to wait for another day - too flippin' cold Saturday and pouring down rain Sunday (but I didn't mind the milder weather and washing away some snow). Nobody else in the neighbourhood has their outdoor decorations down either, so I don't stand out..yet.

Good Morning Dads! FYI, I am leaving to go to #DDCC7 tomorrow night
Enjoy it Randall. I hope you get your technical issues sorted out. If you do, say hello to everyone on behalf of the "board dads".

Morning (well afternoon) guys from Cali Grill. Here with Adam, Joe and Terry.
Great you are all getting to meet up. As above, say hello to everyone on behalf of the "board dads".

Congrats to @Captain_Oblivious and his pesky Eagles.
I watched some of the football over the weekend. Just when Dan and Mike convince me to cheer for the Bears, this is what happens.
Since Mark convinced me to cheer for the Eagles last year, I guess I will flip back to them now. Does that mean I am an Eagles fan?

None of that is good. I've been there with trying to force myself to sleep. It rarely works.
I was hoping that silly decisions stopped when they got out of their teens. Apparently not. I like Norm's suggestion - stay home and shovel for a work out.

Unless of course their kicker would have hit an upright.
Apparently it happens often at Soldier Field.
It could be a little bit of '84, and we all know what happened in 85....I think we are going to lose Fangio though, and thats a shame.

Just when Dan and Mike convince me to cheer for the Bears, this is what happens.
I'm blaming you then.

One thing to remember about the bears kicker is that he scored 3 field goals before the missed kick. My question is what was the rest of the team doing. I hope everyone has safe travels on the way to Disney.

Jt, you and Darcy are probably right, you could point a lot of fingers, I thought we were soft in the secondary, Mitch had an awful 1st half and could have been picked about 3 times, and we gave up some horrendous penalty yards and momentum. Fair play to the Eagles as well, they ground out a win when Foles wasn't on fire.

But its the nature of sports that if you have a potential walk off win, and the guy fluffs it, he's gonna get heat. Same if a striker scored 2 goals, it ends 2-2 and he's the guy that misses in the penalty shoot out. The thing is if Parkey had missed 3 all season and doinked, or double doinked, he wouldn't be getting the grief he is. He lives in the Windy City. He kicks outside for a living, and his aim is off. I just don't think anyone tags him as good enough, and that was crystallised last night.
Just MHO.

I don't know how many Dads will be at DDCC, but I hope you all have a GREAT time. Do everything I wouldn't do.

 And you were thinking... "Suckahs"

I joined in the de-Christmasing party and got all the indoor stuff down.

Got more than me done, then. I got about half of it put away.

None of that is good. I've been there with trying to force myself to sleep. It rarely works.

It never works.

I like Norm's suggestion - stay home and shovel for a work out.

I messed up. I shoveled for the work out... but forgot to stay home.
