I love credit cards so much!

1) $50 increments, it's a pain
2) you can apply only one booking online but 3 if you call it, it's a pain

TBH, I fly DL a lot and this year I changed all 3 of my cards earning benefits-2 to American for gc resale, 1 to United for actual fees I knew I'd accrue, not having a CC or status with them. Obviously everyone's situation is different but the gcs aren't user friendly. I actually did have several fees covered by DL that I didn't know would be- flight change fee and the tax on award fees, so there's that to consider as well.

I agrre with this. I have hundreds in DL gift cards that I haven't/cannot use. You cannot pay for seat upgrades, etc with a giftcard. Fares only.

When I called in to apply multiple gift cards once it worked but the call was over an hour talking with a non native English speaker and very painful.

I don't know if this is a recent change as I don't recall ever using a Delta gift card before, but last week I booked a Delta flight for my daughter online and it allowed me to apply 3 gift cards. It was really easy. It would not work for $+miles reservations, but it was no problem on a cash only reservation.

Thanks so much for the responses. Based on the first several, I was definitely going to ditch the idea of Delta gift cards and just pay cash for my April flights if they fall to something reasonable. In future, if I cancel my Delta Amex, I can use part of the Amex fee reimbursements for bag fees. But I'm wondering if there has been a change in the policy based on trstno1's DP. $50 increments still seems like a pain though...

Nope, that was the relationship rates. Right now I have the plain VW account, I made 3k in qualified DD's in December (only needed $500 or 5 debits to trigger the relationship rate) and this is my current Growth account rate:

$1.00 to $2,499.99 0.05% APY
$2,500.00+ 0.10% APY

Based on other responses, it pays to be out of state :)

I get these same crappy rates. If I put in $50,000 into the highest VW account I can get up to 1.74%. The lowest VW maxes out at 0.1% and the middle VW is 0.65% after $100,000.

Completely agree that the $50 GC are a pain. I was able to use 3 online last week in one booking. I think you can use more if you call in. Sometimes I will book the flights as one way tickets to use more of them at a time.

I thought it was those of us in their footprint got the crappy rates but @DisneyMandC is getting a good rate too and VA has branches - so then I thought it was just us in PA/HQ metro area. Maybe it's proximity to a branch, like it's down to the zip code, and not just within the state? Either way, PNC's not winning any favor over here with those numbers

Lol I promise I won’t stalk you. I’m not that creepy. If you don’t mind I’d take it

I’ll DM you when I get home. Did you get a personal AA card yet tho? Also, are you sure you are done with Chase. I have the personal mailers that count towards 5/24.

My rates are only slightly better. I guess having 10 branches within a 5 mile radius doesn't help.

Got DH's Rose Gold card. It's not too pink, lol. Used Grubhub pickup for lunch at work. Spent $12.50. If the 20% off dining applies, then lunch was "free". :) Went through Ibotta for 4% cashback. Any other stacking opportunities without having to create a new account?

For the airline incidentals credit - since it's a new card, can I put off picking an airline? I may end up having to buy a gift card and sell it. Did a cursory look, looks like Southwest GCs get the best price?

I got mine in today...I surprised how not pink it was to me. May be a keeper color for me.

My AA GCs credited back. Thanks, Amex. :) Now off to do the rest of them...

Pet rocks :rotfl2:

I was thinking that besides our plants, doll names or stuffed animal ones might come in handy. ;)

Going to Disneyland on Friday. I spent an extra 24,000 miles for SO and I to fly in comfort on Delta. Did I make a mistake? (route is DCA-LAX) Only one way but we are tall so I think it’s worth it.

It's a long flight. So IMHO yeah it's worth it. Not sure what level you bumped up to, but we try at a minimum to get extra legroom for those cross country flights. Of course, a better seat is even better.

That happened with me and the Chase Marriott Premier Plus last year. I think it had a $5000 MSR and they were giving me different answers on when that 3 month time frame to spend it ended. Very frustrating!

I didn't even think about how it might affect my MSR time... I'm just annoyed that I'm paying an annual fee for a card that just showed up and has no spend on it at all. They didn't even give me a chance to actually use it. Bad form, Chase...

Yeah, I really like the color. It's not really pink and pretty tasteful.

PNC really doesn’t have much of a presence here. As far as I know, only one tiny branch. Not even in a stand alone building.

ETA looks like they may also have a small branch in one of the University buildings. I never go in there so wouldn’t know about it.

You could probably give it to someone else that might want it more. I think we are going to go for a BoA card first. And no we don’t have a personal card yet
