Pepsi kicks cokes butt
:rotfl: you're funny :thumbsup2 (Serious Coca-Cola fan here LOL)

Does no one call it soda?
I do! Coke, Sprite, Dr. Pepper, etc are all soda. Coke is Coca-Cola.

I do! And when I say I want a coke, I want a Coca-Cola. Pepsi is not ok, Cardi B.
Loyal Coca-Cola drinker here! I will say it is very difficult when I dine somewhere and there is only Pepsi. It just throws me off. Funny I say when I dine somewhere. I usually avoid "THOSE" places. lol Having Coca-Cola helps make Disney my happy place :cloud9:

@afan I saw your downvote of Pepsi after posting this and had to tag

@magickingdomprincess Coke Zero is my Coca-Cola of choice :drinking1

do you bring your own bottles going into Marriott properties? :P

Funny you mention it... Marriott is the "preferred provider" for my company. It can be very difficult. The first time I traveled for work I walked to a CVS around the corner and picked up a 12-pack of cans. The last time I traveled nothing was in walking distance and I did not feel like venturing out since it was a short trip sooo I may or may not have checked a carry-on bag (covered under our travel policy) with a 6-pack of bottles sealed in a Ziplock and carried my essentials on board in a soft duffle. On the way home, I had finished my beverages over 3.4 ounces so I crushed the duffle into my carry-on and brought it with me on the plane. I think thats a true fan, right? LOL

It really comes down to my caffeine addiction. I am also a loyal Starbucks drinker if I purchase coffee (another vote for Disney here - not that it needs it on DISboards). I am lucky that Marriotts can have a Starbucks or brew Starbucks coffee. It can help in a pinch.

I have the $5 credit for Hulu on my Amex. Was hoping to use it one more time before it expires. Can I pay my Hulu bill ahead? I can’t see how when I log in.

There are places I plan my drink around or don't go to because of the Pepsi thing. I have cut down though so I don't drink pop everyday but still more often than I should. But the cravings for the taste...

Per DoC Starbucks has confirmed new points stuff and it starts April 16. So redeem any you need to by the 15th @Lain you'd better hurry up and apply to get all those sandwiches :rotfl2:
I've sadly redeemed all mine form the ChasePay promo a few months back. I wonder where iced coffee falls?
  • 50 stars – will get you any size cup of coffee, tea or bakery item
  • 150 stars – will get you any handcrafted beverage or breakfast sandwich
If it goes to 150, it will take me forever to get free drinks.

Thank you. She is out of surgery. We'll know more after the lab results; the doctor Friday said she has a few months to a year. We've all been praying for a more positive outcome after a successful surgery today.

I'm sorry about your aunt and I hope the lab results come back better than the doctor is expecting.

My friends that still use it are almost/are 40 :sad2:

And don't get me started on San Fran. It is The City, SF or San Francisco. The only one I let get away with it is my Grandpa who trained with United in SF in the 50's. He'd call it Frisco and had fought in WWII plus a different time so he got a pass :) But most other people I correct, especially if they are planning to go there. I will tell them, do not call it San Fran while you are there or people will get annoyed.

I don't mind Cali but to me it's a SoCal thing not a NorCal thing. But I see Cali as fun in the sun and surfing :beach:

Yes! It's "The City" here. Or San Francisco. No abbreviations ever! ;)

Has anyone notice how SoCal ppl say their freeways? Take the Ike west to the 88 and get off at the 83...
ask any socalers... :P

I notice it all the time. We say "take 101 or 280" but people in LA say "take THE 101." Same highway, but somehow all the roads in SoCal need an article in front of the number. It's so weird to me.

@mmmears I also hate Cali for California. I am usually not that picky about how people talk (I find the different dialects interesting) but “Cali” bothers me because people here say it like they are so cool. I.e. “we are going to Cali for fall break.”

Thank you! Yes, they are trying to sound all cool and sophisticated and that's the opposite of what Californian's think when they hear it. It's just so cringeworthy. I don't even know any teenagers who would say it like that.

Wow, that is dedication!

Anyone else make a bracket? I just finished mine and there were some hard choices this year!
Not yet, I need to work on mine!

A couple questions for all the experts on this thread. I would like to open up another Chase card to use towards ultimate rewards. I have only opened one within 24 months (6 months ago) and DH has opened 2.

My first question is, should I open a Sapphire Preferred if DH already has one? I currently have the Chase Ink Cash and he has Sapphire Preferred and Chase Ink Unlimited. We aren’t a big fan of annual fees. Which would be our best bet? My first thought was the refer a friend bonus you get with SP, but I also heard people are receiving 1099’s for 10,000 points, which we would prefer to stay away from.

My second question is: We currently have 2 no annual fee Disney rewards cards that we seldom use since we also have the 2% one with a $49 fee that is better. I am an authorized user on his. Will it hurt our credit to close these? They have both been open and used for over 24 months. Would it be better to just stop using them? Which would be the least harmful to our credit?

We both have excellent credit and would like to keep it that way, but still receive a modest benefit for our credit card use. TIA

Okay peeps, be kind I’m new to this! Looking to make my money work harder for ME this time around! New to the CC points game.

Me, DH! & our son
Small business owner
Disney VISA is our only card right now, paid off monthly
No card apps in last 24
We typically do not fly, but currently have soma AA points from business travel
Main goal is hotel or Disney ticket $$ if possible
I have Car Rental earning potential like crazy (trying to earn some Hotel or Air points with these company paid rentals if possible)
Hilton Gold, Marriott Silver (maybe? May have lapsed)

Looking for recommendations on best travel reward card. Currently debating on Hilton Ascend (180k point offer via snail mail), or Chase Sapphire Preferred that everyone raves about. Any other thoughts?

We have a few large purchases upcoming that would get us to the min spend for a $3-4K bonus quickly (paying off cruise, & Disney AP renewal)

Hi and Welcome
It’s smart to start with Chase and the Chase Sapphire Preferred (CSP) is a good card, but since you have a small business...you could start with a business card the Chase Ink Preferred (CIP)....the bonus is higher 80k URs after spending 5k the first 3 months. If you husband is also willing to open a card...after you meet the spend on your CIP, you could refer him...you receive 20k URs as a referral bonus and he earns another 80k sign up bonus....

If you go for the CIP...even though you may have a business name ...it’s easier with Chase to apply with your first and last name only as the business name and SS number as the EIN...if you apply any other way they most likely will ask you to send in documentation
You could accumulate 190k URs with just 2 cards

URs can be used to book hotels(not Disney hotels right now..we hope this changes), flights, car rentals etc or cashed out to pay for anything

You could have your DH refer you to the CSP...Chase has only sent 1099s to people who received over 60,000URs in referrals...he would not get one for the 10K referral
As far as the Disney cards...I’d keep the no fee ones...they add to the age of your credit history.....you can reduce the CL to $500-$1,000.
The $49 Disney card you can cancel if you are going to move your spending to another card and will not use it.

The CSP can be a good move since he can refer you and I believe the links still have the first year free. When did he get his? He can downgrade his to a Freedom if you don't think you both need the card if he has had it for over a year. Is there a reason you have not gone for the Chase Ink Preferred yet? Looks like DH has a business card. The CIP could be a great one for you both to get. It does have the annual fee, but you definitely get it back in the sign up bonus.

In today's tale of STRANGE churning redemptions...

I used MRs for a Bed Bath & Beyond Gift Card to purchase a new anti-fatigue kitchen mat, dish drainer, and Cookie Press (whatever that is) for my wife...

This on the heels of using MRs for a Home Depot gift card for a Roku to replace one of my Comcast boxes...

Meanwhile, @calypso726 is enjoying a shower in the sky as I happily redeem MRs at 1cpp for gift cards to major retailers. And this my friends, is why there is truly no BAD way to churn :) Both of us are very happy with our redemptions...

(Mind you that all of these MRs were earned from tons of r/churning clicks last year so I didn't actually signup for cards to get them)...
Did you sign up? I did this but sometime before Christmas. I got my 20 GC in the mail well before my renewal date.
I did it via phone, they said I'd get the $20 gc and I haven't seen it yet. This was early Feb. (all in all it worked out perfectly as I needed a car rental anyway and their price was the best)
