If they ever question it too I would just say I like having different cards/accounts to separate my expenses. Easier for budget tracking etc. I had to call for verification a few times but they never mentioned my other cards lol

Yes, good reminder, I do know that is a good reason to keep in mind, it just caught me by surprise! Makes me wonder how long people have actually been doing this because it really seemed like a totally normal occurrence to her.

Well Dh took the offer and we are officially moving to Florida!!!

We’re tentatively planning on flying down the weekend after Easter and my parents might be going with. We’re able to get pretty cheap tickets to Orlando from our local airport.

We’ve started looking at houses and researching about the area more. It just doesn’t feel real yet. One really cool part of this is Dh will be working on Navy planes and my brother flies jets for the navy.

How exciting....sounds like he’s really looking forward to the new job

;) CONGRATS!!!

I may have celebrated like that...If I plug this year’s numbers into last year’s tax spreadsheet our federal tax obligation would be $4,400 higher!

I’m glad someone is paying less..here on LI, NY between property and state income taxes...now capped at 10k we are paying thousands more....not fun and can’t wait to retire in Fl

What in the world is sewer rent and storm water tax?

Not sure how it is for @jax10 but we have to pay a storm water fee and I think a sewer assessment few or something weird like that and we aren't even connected to sewer, we're still on septic because it's almost 10k from the house to the connection we have available. We also from a different water district than the city we live in but pay these fees to the city. Storm water is for ditches, drains etc. I would imagine if we got city water it would all be in that bill but since we are in a different district it's not. We used to be in an unincorporated sliver of the county between the 2 cities but we got sucked into the one we've always used for our address less than 20 years ago. Wish we'd get put in their water district because it's better than what we get. I would guess in some places it would be something like this or if you are on well water but are connected to sewer so you aren't fully contained you'd have them as well.

Taxes, taxes - I only have to pay a little $245, fortunately not thousands! I was seriously freaked out and didn't even want to do them, but it's okay.
I still have to do mine. Uggghh. I have them started but was annoyed with the amex and chase 1099 thing and point value and got annoyed and quit. Ha! Now I get to spend tomorrow and Friday preschool hours finishing them up.

That's great news! CONGRATS to you & DH!!!

:cool1::banana::cool1:

I know how bummed he was after the first FL interview didn't go well, so hopefully this takes away the sting. Hope the move is everything you want it to be!

Well I noticed my "transpiration" (transportation) typo as I scrolled past my post from Sunday, but I FINALLY caught up on the thread. Read every comment. It just felt wrong not to!
So sorry for all the personal losses people have experienced :grouphug:

In positive news, congratulations @Haley R ! I felt like your DH's job saga was a Netflix series I was binging and couldn't wait to finish. So glad it ended well! String of good luck starting with that HP backpack arriving! :thumbsup2

In CC news, sorry about the negative changes to United and AA miles, but congratulations to all the new open cards, especially multiple CIP approvals! ::yes::

CIP bonus question. The charge that officially put me over $5,000 was placed on 4/2. I have spent an additional $173.62 since 4/2 just to be safe. I don't see the points pending yet. I had SMed Chase when I first opened the card and the rep told me my last day to hit the MSR was 5/16.

When should I see the points pending? My next statement closes 4/18. Not sure if I am too close to the date without pending points to actually get them this month.

Just finished off the MSR on my wife's CIC. I paid my Comcast bill for the rest of the year to get 5x on all that spend. Once those post we'll be just shy of 850k URs... I guess I need to start embracing the reality of cash-out soon. If my wife and I each go for CIPs in the next 2 months I'm going to be a UR millionaire...LOL!
I'm always in awe of these numbers..but I know I'll never get there. As soon as mine post I'm thinking of ways to spend them!

Well, for what it’s worth, if Chase hadn’t ruined URs for Disney I can tell you I’d have about 450k less right now. And now I’m hoarding them because I desperately would love to get more than 1cpp out of them.

I don’t know but my mom is working on MSR for CSP and met the spend around 3/26. She has put an additional $500+ on it. Still nothing showing as pending, just 1600 for regular spend. I kept checking and finally SMd and they confirmed she met bonus requirements. No idea why nothing is showing yet. Maybe Chase is having a glitch. :confused3

Thank you! This makes me feel better. Figures considering I met my CSP/CSR double dip MSR during a delayed bonus posting period that the CIP would follow suit. lol I guess another SM couldn't hurt to confirm its been met. It would put me at ease and allow me to shift spending.

Congrats! Excited for you guys as you begin this next chapter of life. Where do your parents live now?

That is kind of what happened to me as well. Along with the new tax laws not doing us any favors. You guys are same size fam as us. Are you paying more now?
