Hi from the Boardwalk! This resort is awesome. Idk what I like better though the Boardwalk or Beach club lol I do know I never want to stay value again lol but I do feel silly blowing 50,000 AA points for a single night lol
But they are so easy to acquire. AA miles are like Monopoly money, right??? Haha!

OMG, Hersheypark was packed today! It really made me miss Express Pass at Universal and made me understand why we will always stay onsite at RP, PB or HRH for it. We have no patience for long lines and enjoy being able to get some resort time in it also.

As for timing, I think trying for CIP2 on or after 5/25 should be fine.

As for the Amex AU, did you provide your SSN when adding yourself as an AU? If not, it may not have made it to your credit report and Amex may just close out that AU account.

If the Amex AU is on your credit report, you can remove yourself as an AU from DH's Amex Ascend; unfortunately, that card will still be listed on your credit report, just as closed or terminated. And it will still count against your 5/24 with Chase. You'd need to file a dispute with each credit reporting agency that AU card appears on or ask Amex to remove that AU card from your reports, but Amex will not remove an AU card from your reports if you're a spouse of the primary cardmember.

I am the spouse. (I thought you’d have that on your spreadsheet by now, Lain! )

I’ll just leave that AU card alone then.

I do have other Chase accounts; one of which has a $46,000 credit limit. I can ask to reduce it. I never come close to 1/2 of it.

I leave the first CIP open and wait until after the renewal AF posts to close it, right?

@SouthFayetteFan cough dictator :mic: out in full force cough :rolleyes1

Hey, I'm sorry, but I'm going to bring up an old slightly off-topic topic because I have new questions. I'm seriously planning to use Chase UR points to purchase Broadway tickets, but I won't be there to pick up the tickets, and I cannot tell if if I am able to have them held at will-call for somebody else. Do any of you Dischurners have experience with this?

My evil plan is working, muahhahahaha!

JK. But my Barclay Arrival Plus plan is.

Had $145.45 in points left.
5/16: Booked refundable hotel on Hotels.com for $145.23
5/18: Applied $145.23 in A+ miles towards charge
5/18: Cancelled hotel
Once the refund comes through, I will SM to cancel the card. Of course, after all of this I realized... My balance will be at $0! great! Except I already had to pay the AF so I will need to get a check from them for that. Was trying to avoid that and forgot, D'oh!

I accidentally discovered this last week. I booked a one night hotel stay in Feb, and travel erased the charge. We had to cancel the trip last week, and the room got refunded on the card. Now I have a negative balance.

It’s kind of funny that aside from one friend we by far out travel all of our friends and acquaintances. People make all sorts of comments. I just want to say, “You should see the trips my friend @calypso726 takes!” I don’t though, because I don’t even know her IRL name.

@StephPlum and @LuckyMamaInDE We get down to CO Springs a few times a year (actually going down for a few days this next week) and I've never noticed a huge homeless problem but we never go downtown. Is that where you both noticed the problem? Sad :( I do know that CO's homeless population has increased with the ever increasing home prices and the legalization of pot. Not trying to debate the use of pot for those with medical conditions that it helps (I have a child that pot could probably help!) but imo, legalizing it has not been good for CO.
TBH, we noticed the homeless in many places. We ate downtown two nights ( Red Gravy and Jack Quinn Irish Pub - both very yummy). We parked near the Pioneer Museum, so maybe 2 blocks away, and I was a little nervous that we would get done eating and it would be darker. I didn't want to be walking at that time. One day we filled up with gas near the Garden of the Gods and I was a little afraid for my DS who was pumping the gas. One guy walked through the gas station with a knife around his neck. We also saw quite a few near the Olympic Training Center (so I guess that is downtown as well) and near our hotel (on Geyser Dr so not really downtown). We drove on Lake Ave every morning to get to I25 and we recognized the same people hanging by the intersections every day.

That is an interesting comment on the pot legalization. I was wondering why there were so many homeless given the less than ideal winters. You raise a good point that might be a factor. Sorry to bring up all my experiences as they are less than pleasant.

That is really sad. Again, it's not something we've seen...or have we become so desensitized to it that we don't notice it as much??, which is even sadder :( There is no debate CO has a bad homeless problem but we've been in other, warmer, locations like Las Vegas, CA and FL and noticed way more homeless so I guess we thought ours wasn't as bad due to the winters.
I definitely think it's increased with the pot...

Now I need to find my dvd of this movie because I need to watch it. I haven't seen it on tv in forever. :cheer2:

It makes it easier but I would imagine for the most part the people that are buying it now are the people that were buying it before it was legal. It's legal here and while I don't appreciate the guy that tokes up and then comes in the gym because I don't want to smell it anyway but especially while I'm working out, I wouldn't say it's made our homeless problem worse. It was bad before, it's bad now and part of it is opiods which I think is a bigger problem, at least up here, than pot. And other stuff that gets too much into politics.

My dd says she was told they are not restocking at all. She's pretty bummed. There were a couple clothing items she was planning to buy.

I don't know if it will make your dd feel better, but the quality of these items seems different. I have a lot of cotton in my wardrobe and I've never seen cotton wrinkle to bits as quickly as the Vineyard Vines collection for Target. It was a mess in the 20 mins from the store to my house. As in, I cannot wear this without getting out the iron and then, what's it going to look like after I've been sitting in it for a little while? I think I'm returning the white dress for this very reason. That and the lining oddly only goes halfway down the skirt, which is odd for a white dress. It is super cute, maybe just not practical. It wasn't worth waking up early, and now having to trek back and return a few things. I will say that the shoppers at the store I went to were all very well-behaved -- people were nice and helping each other out. No issues whatsoever.

I’ll just leave that AU card alone then.

I figured. I was just making the point that you can dispute an Amex AU with the credit bureaus and with Amex itself, but Amex will not remove the AU from your credit report if you are the spouse of the primary cardmember. Roommate, fine. Sibling, fine. Spouse, good luck.

I do have other Chase accounts; one of which has a $46,000 credit limit. I can ask to reduce it. I never come close to 1/2 of it.

Is that $46k all on one card? Is it on a personal card? You may want to cut it in half. You’ll take a small, temporary hit in your credit scores due to the amount of utilization vs. the new lower amount of available credit, but as you open more personal cards, they’ll come with credit lines that increase your overall available credit.

If the $46k credit line is on a Chase card, it could pose a problem at some point in getting approved for more Chase biz or personal cards because Chase will say they’ve already extended you sufficient credit.

If the $46k credit line is on a personal card, you should send an SM from that card account to request a reduction of your credit line to whatever you feel conformable with, and ideally let the statement close on that account with the lowered credit limit before applying for another CIP. Chase will report the lower credit line to your credit reports when the statement closes, so when you next apply for a Chase card, and Chase pulls your reports, Chase’s approval algorithms will see the lower limits reflected on your reports.

I leave the first CIP open and wait until after the renewal AF posts to close it, right?

Yes. If you’re not using all the available credit on the CIP after meeting MSR, you can feel free to send a SM to lower the credit line on that card to something like $1k or $2k. That should lower your credit extended by Chase and should increase your odds of getting approved for more Chase cards.

It's Terrie :D

I just Google'd Steamboat Springs. Wow that looks really pretty. Never been and just added it to my ever growing bucket list, so thank you for that :flower3:

Our planned trips at this time include
June 11-20th in Wisconsin Dells. I’ll use 3 timeshare days and my Cat 4 Marriott cert.

August 13-23 back to Wisconsin Dells for another 10 days. It’s an easy 6 hr drive and my daughter and her husband usually come for a few days to play.

September 7-13 down to Fort Meyers area at the Hyatt Coconut Plantation to relax in the sun, play in the lazy river and ocean.

October 11-24 down to Orlando. We will do 7 Disney days and one day at Sea World. The rest will just be relaxing and playing in the lazy river.

Dec 8-15 there should be 7 of us going to HI. I have an ongoing search for another timeshare week but if that falls through we’ll just do the one week.

Then next March we will probably do one more week in Orlando.

I’m thinking after that I might try to get DGD to every state before she decides she is to cool to travel with Grandma. It’s time to start brushing up on my geography.

Hyatt Coconut Point is one of my favorites! Have a wonderful time. It was a hidden gem as a Cat 4. With the recent upgrade to a Cat 5 I’m sad I can no longer use our yearly free certs there :(
