I booked Springhill Suites Oakland, it's brand new opens in July. Found it in the UR portal, 2 king beds plus the trundle sofa so plenty of room for the 6 of us. It looks very close to the airport and offers a shuttle to/from.

With the advice and shared information here DH and I will be able to visit him four times this year. on points

SW...opened DH the Priority card...working on that spend...will have him apply for the SW business card in 3 months for the CP....we need it early next year for flights

Will hopefully continue to earn URs...opening up cards every 3 months

Hmm, I'm not sure. The verification asks for school and your school email address. I'm a professor and that counted. I would Google "rothy's teacher discount" to get to the page and see if there are any you want first- the discount is only available on some of the shoes, and it varies over time. Then, maybe contact them and ask? Their customer service is good.

What would I do........

Book refundable SW flight super far out at just over $300. Collect your travel credit. Downgrade to CFU, get AF refund. Cancel SW flight months later, refund put back on CFU, keep your travel credit. Spend the $300ish on the CFU to get my “money back” (ie don’t call and request a refund check)

I think that's a great idea. Creating a sticky note for my monitor now.

Just but three City Passes for Chicago for 18,600 URs. I think they're $108 + tax each. I lived in Chicago for four (long) years and have never been to the Shedd Aquarium, Field Museum, Museum of Science and Industry, Skydeck, or Wrigley Field. Just wish the forecast was a bit warmer for this weekend.

First off CONGRATS!!! That's a great haul for the year!

Secondly...HUGE TAKEAWAY HERE TO LURKERS AND NEWBIES...The MAGIC of Business Cards!!!

Here is somebody who got TWENTY cards in a 12 month span between her and her spouse and yet both of them are still < 5/24. This is ONLY possible with the use of small business cards. Without biz cards, she'd be WAY over 5/24 and completely locked out of Chase for months (or years). If you aren't comfortable because you don't feel that you are eligible...then I'd find a way to make yourself eligible. Create a business-like activity in your life.

Man, Florida sure does make it hard to get a teaching license. I've been trying to get this figured out for two weeks now. First of all, they don't respond to emails. Second, they make it nearly impossible to contact a real person by calling. I found out I could keep pressing 0 to get a real person, but even that was trying to direct me to a general information menu. I'm finally on hold right now to speak with someone, but good grief. Sure does make me not want to even get my license. I guess we'll see how long I sit on hold.

Question about United award space:

I've read that United opens award space availability at 337 days which would be for April 22, 2020. I can see economy saver seats available for that date (EWR-SYD), but the earliest I can see business saver seats is April 19 or 334 days. I can't even see any 200K+ options for April 20-22 even though the seats are available for cash booking. Is this a function of when they release business saver seats? Or is that availability from 335-337 days viewable with status or a Chase United card?

I have been watching EWR-SYD and IAH-SYD for months.

@amalone1013 and @DisneyMandC I opened my Chase letter. It was for my Disney Visa because I PCed from regular to premier. This is the second mailer in addition to the actual envelope with the new card. Chase isn't the most eco friendly. LOL

I know I could do columbia harbor house or maybe I'll just wait and eat at DS instead. Do Pecos Bills for dinner before after hours.

Why would they change something that doesn't need to be fixed? I've never even heard of a chicken corn dog lol. I had the corn dog bites in January and they were delicious. Dh had the footlong for that meal, too.

I saw this on the news thread. I am not a hot dog person myself (they haven't sat right with me since I was a child), but find it ridiculous that they were removed! Give two options and let people order what they want. Maybe Disney will wise up and bring the original back.

I like the MK resort QS options. Contempo Cafe is a quick walk away. Not sure how/when you are arriving to MK, but would the resorts be completely out of the question? I've used them as a pitstop from a park to relax, cool down, and eat before heading into MK if I am not staying in that area.

I thought about contemp but didn't know how it was. Have to go there to check in for the dis event and then I'll go to DS. I'll check out the menu. It's also probably my only trip to DS so the food there might win.
