Tentative Day Itinerary at Disneyland

No way you can do those things on a EMH day for Fantasyland between 8am-9am.

Only way that changes is if majority of EMH entrance have early SWGE reservations.

Otherwise expect 30-45 minutes each for Dumbo, Alice, and Storybookland.

Mad Tea Party should have a low line though.

ME
I'll devote an extra hour or so to FL then. Thank you!

Any help to convincing my dear father to rope drop? He keeps on saying "sLEEP...."
My first thought was to yell, “There’s no sleep in Disney!” in a Tom Hanks voice (ala A League of Their Own), but probably not the best approach. Could you offer to get up with little sis the next morning so he can sleep in and rest up?

Maybe its just me, but having an itinerary setup like this just sets you up for failure IMO. It puts extra stress on having to worry about staying on your itinerary when you are on a fun vacation that sometimes is more fun to just play it by ear.

What happens if one of the rides goes down?

What if someone has to go to the bathroom and its a longer then normal wait?

What if there is a handicap person getting on or off a ride so that adds 10 minutes to that ride.

What if you dont get through your whole list in the first half of the day? Do you just eliminate an item, do you bump it to later in the day eliminating something else?

It just sounds like a bunch of clock watching and headache.
Sorry for the late reply but for me it's actually more stressful to not have at least a general plan :P

Haha I'd try yelling that but he probably wouldn't understand! Actually my dad's saying sleep not for himself (he normally wakes up at 5:30am or 6am already anyways) but for my sister and mom. I tried to tell him about putting sis in the car while she's asleep and that semi worked? But he was a little concerned about my mom because she'll be on a different schedule (not going to DL, has a meeting)

Why does mom have to get up? Can you sneak out while she’s still sleeping? Shower and to have the car as ready to go as possible the night before (stroller, snacks, diaper bag, etc.). Then all you have to do is throw on you clothes and grab a bagel (or similar).

We can try to, but we'll probably all be in one room and my sister will be sleeping in between my mom and dad. We'll definitely get as much as possible ready the night before and lay out clothes though.

I’m a little relieved to hear you are running into a snag with your dad... I was starting to wonder if he was real! :). Tell him he is the most amazing dad already to be doing this whole day at Disney for you and you understand. Tell him you will be a bit disappointed to miss the golden hours that really will set you up to do so much in one day but obviously the trip needs to work for everyone, then ask him if he thinks it would work to go back to Disneyland for another day on your trip so you can spread things out a little. :rotfl2:

Haha he's quite real and I'm sure that there will be more snags with him! :rotfl2: Thanks, if all else fails to convince him for rope drop I'll do that.

Mk so I'll probably go with something along the lines of - it'll make the money more worth it, we can sleep as late as he'd like all other days of the trip, if all else fails I'll go with DisMomMT's suggestion to ask about adding another day in DL. :)

We'll be using MaxPass. :) And if you need help you could make a thread, there are so many awesome Disney experts here!

I was planning on it, freely admit when i’m Barely treading water lol.

Did think i’d Wait to let the dust settle for a month or so after the SW area opens to see if any major shift in the waters

Sounds like a good plan considering how SWGE will probably be a game changer.

I’d tell your dad he can sleep in if you get a 2 day pass. I really think the baby will be cranky getting up that early. They can’t stay asleep.

What’s the price difference for a 2 day? Google for a free password and check the cost at last minute travel club.

Has your dad been involved in any of this planning? Has he seen what you're doing and going through to make all this happen as smoothly as possible in one day at only one park? I think if you involve him more, e.g. showing him what you're doing and how many people are involved with you to plan this out -- and how much work from all these people is involved to make this happen, he'll start to understand why "sleep" really isn't helpful in getting the job done for a one day "making the dream happen" visit. And then he might be more open to two days!

I'm wondering if it's possible to exchange a 1 day ticket for a 2 day one

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try to get him involved a bit more!
