Disney Skyliner (Gondola Transportation System) Read Post 1 Now Open!

You mean “hit a dock,” right? I’m pretty sure Disney didn’t place any rocks large enough for the boats to hit when they dug the lakes and canals the Friendship boats sail on. :goodvibes
There are loads of rocks along the bank of the canal between the Swan and Dolphin and Hollywood Studios.

I'm here now staying at Beach Club. Even covered and stationary the skyliner adds to the ambience, energy, and feel of the Epcot resort area. There was a buzz on DME as we approached them. These are going to be a huge win for Disney and for the resorts on the line.

I'll post pics if I see anything that is new or hasn't been shared.

I'm so excited for it, we are staying in the Epcot resort area next year! Total win!

Friendship boat never achieve the kind of speed that would require.
And a Disney Skyliner gondola never caught fire nor did the Disney Skyliner cable ever snap. That's my point - people are imaging disasters for no good reason. Meanwhile, we have record of real incidents - fires, doors opening while in motion, etc. - that should be driving people who have concerns like that about the gondola to be much more forcefully clamoring for elimination of the monorail.

Just to clarify, when I commented on fire / cable breaking, I was deliberately using "Reductio ad absurdum" to make the point if you actually needed the boat you would be darn gald it was there and not think twice about it's appearance.

Please!

I keep coming back to this thread to see if anyone has heard any rumors of opening dates, and you've got to trudge through a lot of negative comments to find any information.

It is ridiculous. I am still in the camp that once people try them they will love them and those hotels will become much more popular and sadly the prices will go up then.

The Hollywood station is looking great.

I haven't kept up on this, but have their been any updates in terms of how hot these things really get? Like has a single human being even completed a circuit on these yet? Where's the leaked info! I know they say the things will stay cool but I just can't imagine them being nothing but hanging hotboxes.

Workers have been inside.

Disney/Dopplemayr have these at they shouldn’t get any hotter than it is outside really.
