BOG lunch now...braised pork gone...tiny portion...

I called Disney Dining and asked about vegetarian options. The CM noted that we have a vegetarian and said there will be additional options at check in. She advised us not to preorder, which is a little scary :scared1: DD can always eat afterwards if she can't find anything she likes, but I don't understand why they would dramatically reduce the vegetarian options :sad2:

I have gotten the pork every time I have gone - now I have no idea what to order.
I'm a new vegan and have read that their dinner vegan/vegetarian option isn't all that great either.

Share? I agree - no way! We're small people and we each enjoyed every bite of our braised pork. It was satisfying, but nothing left to share. Guess if you snack enough between meals maybe then you wouldn't be as hungry. We don't tend to snack much and don't drink sugary drinks at all.

Yeah, it was enough to fill me up but not feel stuffed. I'm an average sized woman. I'm hoping they tweak the menu before our September trip and at least increase the portion size if the chicken is as small as people are saying.

I really liked that roast beef sandwich! I could have sworn that the first time I had it had some kind of horseradish mayo/sauce, which was really good! That was either 2014 or 2015. After that it was a different mayo based sauce and then last year I saw the roast beef sandwich was replaced by the French dip. I've never tried it, though.
It definitely had horseradish in the beginning. I think arugula, too. That was my favorite version of the sandwich. Used to cost something like $12.99 and was really tasty.

Tom Bricker has a review. Are we allowed to post links to him?
The braised chicken looks a lot better than the glop of fatty pork my son got a few years back. I guess you can’t really tell from the picture, but the portion size looks fine.

If you assume that's a full size plate, sure...the portion looks fine. But it's not a full size plate...it's a small plate.

The sandwiches that others had around us still seemed to be the same size, but this new coq au vin chicken dish is much smaller....or at least it was on day 1. Maybe they'll rethink it if enough people complain. Like I said in the first post, the lady who brought our food to us said that EVERYONE was commenting on the small size of the meal when she delivered their food.

I’m glad I’m not the only one feeling sad about BoG these days. We have gone on every family trip since 2014 and it’s become quite a tradition but I was sitting here earlier today looking at the menu and being sad. I don’t want to go just to go. I used to get the child’s pork and it was perfect (we always go in the hot summer so the adult portion was too much in the heat) 😭😭😭😭

WAIT! You ordered Pork and they delivered chicken without confirming that with you in advance?

UNBELIEVABLE ! Disney service at it's Finest! (I would have sent it back and asked for a refund. I mean when I sit down at a restaurant and order a dish it's not acceptable for the chef to just send something else out to keep the tables turning!)

Of course I am not surprised at the menu changes. Disney knows that they can sell this place out at high prices even if they served you a plate of gruel.

I am not allowed to link to the site, but here is another photo of the chicken.

Although the pork was served in a bowl, this is an adult sized plate/portion and (along with Bricker’s pic) looks about what it used to.

Does this resemble what you were served? or more like an oops/child’s?

Somewhat, not nearly that amount of chicken on mine, though.

And, that is not a full size plate...I can tell you that for sure...its about 6"x8". That smaller plate will throw off the perception of the size of the meal. For perception, that amount of potatoes is about an ice cream scoop's worth...not a heaping one, either.

Very disappointed with these changes. I also planned to have the pork. We will be canceling our ADR and probably just eating at a CS. We have Plaza and Liberty Tree Tavern on other days, not much left. Besides the buffets and I'm not paying those crazy prices, just not into character meals.
