My wife...my wife does not want to see those creatures in real life :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ok, I get that there are people that don't want to (at least I understand it intellectually), then there's me that go "ohhh" like a little girl (which I am - a girl, not little) and I just want to hug ALL.THE. ANIMALS!!! :dog::cat:

I mean the fact that they are wild hunters shouldn't matter should it??? :confused3

Oh, love these pictures! This is on my list of must dos. I might have to go by myself as I don't get much of a reaction from my family when I mention going to Africa. :confused3 I mean, who doesn't want to see these creatures in real life???
Animal Kingdom is closer. Hahahaha. I’m teasing you, and I’m sure it was a rhetorical question.
But honestly, I have no interest in anywhere some folks go. Asia, nope. Africa, heck nope. Middle East, not a chance. Maybe something is wrong with me. I am happy going to Epcot and wandering the world showcase.

I would like to do Italy someday...possibly on a Med cruise.

I’m with you girl! I just want to go to Florida 3 times a year. :D (And so that’s what I do...for free...and it’s awesome lol)

Have to admit the pics freak me out a little. She only has her IPhone 6 camera. These are not some super zoomed in photos. And the day before she left she told me about a toddler that was killed by a leopard inside the park. Then my DD18 was telling her sister she had a dream that DD21 had gotten eaten by a snake and DD18 had to cut open the snake and pull out her body. My DH is like she is bigger than a toddler, a leopard probably won’t want to eat her and neither will a snake. Thanks people. That makes a mom feel real good about this trip.

LOL! Animal Kingdom might be as close as I get to these animals too. And if it is, I'm Ok with that. I totally get why people, even in my own family, wouldn't want to go some places. Heck there are places my kids want to go and my response is "you can go there when you are paying for it, I have no interest in going there". I know a lot of people here are in/going/planning trips to Japan and that holds no interest to me. Everyone has different interests and I try to remember that most people don't get to go as many places as my family has been. Some can't travel for many different reasons.

Now, I don't get the ones that never want to travel. :confused3 I include my own parents in this group. Growing up I thought we just didn't have money to travel, now as an adult I realize we probably could have travelled but my parents had/have no interest. I don't get it. When my responsibilities have lessened ('cause lets get serious, parenting never really ends) I plan to be on the go. There are so many places to go see!:moped:

I’m the proud owner of a 2 year old who hates sleep. Seriously, she still barely sleeps through the night despite every sleep training method on earth.

As much as I’d love to jet off to japan, I think her and jet lag would make for the most miserable trip on earth.

Wdw is a good option right now. We don’t have to leave our time zone and it’s so tiring she actually sleeps lol. and free is best when your paying 18grand a year in childcare.

Hopefully in like 3-5 years I’ll be looking for the Asia advice. But right now, earn and burn for the current stage of life.

Totally been there. It gets better.

:rotfl2:That sounds like how the conversation would go in my house as well. Don't they understand that Moms can run through every possible scenario and they just added 2 more to run through?? Those pictures are amazing realizing she was using an iPhone to take them. She was on a group outing wasn't she? I mean, can you just drive through in your own car? See, I should do some research on these things if I'm ever going to do them!

When? Lol. DS is 10 & still needs a parent in the room to go to sleep. Every night. I keep thinking, it’s fine he won’t go to college needing to have a parent to sleep. Now I’m not so sure. A couple years ago he would say “I need to sleep by myself, I’m old enough” but then cave after not falling asleep. Now, he doesn’t even try. When I say he can sleep by himself, he says no. And then says he’s not going to college, because he’s staying with us forever.

Not sure if you’re a country music fan but I’ve been hearing a sweet new song by Luke Combs called “Just cuz I’m leaving”. Take a look at the lyrics, very sweet about a boy being afraid at night and his dad reassuring him. I love country music lyrics. And Jimmy Buffett lyrics. Always quoting Jimmy. 🏝

I’m kind of in your wife’s corner with this. I’ve seen them in real life. At the zoo. They’re on their side. I’m on mine. It’s an arrangement I’m okay with :)

Same! I feel like something must be wrong with me too lol. I'm not sure if it is my season of life or if I'm just easily amused here in the good old US of A.

There is nothing wrong with you. This is just like the @SouthFayetteFan explanation of the right way to churn. It's the right way to vacation.

Visiting WDW and wandering the world showcase is the right way to vacation.
Visiting all the continents and as many countries as possible is the right way to vacation.
Road trips within the continental US is the right way to vacation.
Cruising is the right way to vacation.
Throwing a dart on a map and visiting wherever it lands is the right way to vacation.

I'm sure our benevolent dictator could make a much better list, but you get the gist. I'm just as happy visiting WDW as I am visiting another country. But there are also a number of countries that I don't have a particular desire to visit. So, I get where you are coming from.

I love your post and this is exactly why I love this group :lovestruc The support of each other is 'top-drawer'!

My mom doesn't. Africa has been on my bucket list forever and hopefully I will be able to cross it of the list in the next few years.

I’m updating my credit card tracking sheet to include closed accounts (primarily Amex so I can avoid cards I’ve previously held). I’m able to see decent account information on Credit Karma and Experian (I have identity works monitoring from some past data breach or another), however I don’t see any way to find the name of the card. Amex just appears to use some numbers that aren’t anywhere on the card. I’m pretty sure my shoebox of closed cards will prevent me from missing any prior Amex accounts in the last 7 years but was wondering if there’s another credit source that could provide more details?

There's nothing wrong with you. When my DD was little we had friends who were dragging their little kids all over Europe and Asia and all I wanted to do was go to WDW and Hawaii. I do think that things change depending on where we are in our own lives and who we would have to travel with. We didn't take DD far overseas until she was 13 years old. And then didn't repeat it until she was in college. I had no desire to spend my afternoons in some park across the world while paying $$$ for flights, hotels and food. It's all good and there is no right way to spend your vacation IMHO.
