So now we are torn between the benevolent dictator being a woman or Carl from UP. :rotfl2:
I just want to be on the record as being TOTALLY OK with being thought of as Carl Fredrickson!

Dh was approved for the Amex corporate card and the note from I guess the HR lady included this:

"AMEX Membership Rewards enables you to retain your points. The $90 membership fee is not a company reimbursed expense."

Seems worth doing...I guess...I think he will spend at least 10k in a year but this is all new to us.
I'm really confused why companies (seems common per the comments) require you to use a certain card but you still pay the bill. Why would they care what card you use if you pay it? Times like this I'm glad my DH is a small company guy and not a corporation guy. When he interviewed for this current job the owner said he does corporate amex cards and I told DH no way no how...work that out. So he negotiated using his own card for work expenses and is reimbursed like normal.

I’ve finally come to the realization that regardless of savings, DVC is just something that I want to make me happy. IDK if that is the right attitude, but I know I will be going to WDW for the foreseeable future and having it will make me enjoy my trips more LOL

This definitely describes our situation. We bought BCV back in 2006. I ran lots of numbers and told DH that it just didn't make sense, but it has been one of the best decisions. We have taken family and friends on many trips and have lots of amazing memories. We could sell for a profit at this point, but I am just not willing to sell.

@wendow Others have chimed in as well, but I make a fake account using our middle names for extra tickets. We call them our "other family"! I just felt better knowing that we would never get the tickets messed up this way.

Now I have FOMO with the Sams AP deal. Had been thinking we would just buy some DVC Gold passes for that empty nester stage in a year. Decisions, decisions.

Correct, they will just sit in MDE with all your other ticket media. Rather than prioritizing, you can even make a fake friend and push the passes there during your SWGE trip so there is no way they can accidentally get activated, and then transfer them back once your trip is over. This would be my personal preferred method if you do not need to hold FP+ within 60+ days of your other trip.

Perfect, thanks! I'll create 2 friends to move our APs to just until we have returned from our Aug trip to be on the safe side.

Anyone who is stalking AP SWGE preview want to share cell numbers in a PM and set off a group text when the first person sees the link?
I’d be interested. I never get emails though but SO does
@speedyfishy @bernina

I'd be in for it. I seem to get multiple emails on different accounts for Disney/AP/DVC...i'm bound to get something.
I’d be interested too! I’m versed in Twitter so if people know of the best outfits for breaking Disney news I can follow them & enable immediate notifications. I’ve yet to figure out how one signs up for passholder info and I actively avoid FB but Twitter monitoring I can do! I have WDW Daily News, *****, Chip & Co and WDWMagic so far. I’m gonna be swamped with Disney news for a while lol but I’m really considering a last minute trip to WDW in Aug and this would seal the deal. Also I have the TA emails covered if by some miracle they get notified by WDW first.

me too please!

So as many of you know, Disney World resort rooms were released through 2020 today. I just checked and there isn't any room availability on AAVacations or UseAAmiles yet. I'll keep checking periodically. If anybody else notices availability go live there, please share that info here! I did double check and there are Disney Resorts showing for 2019 so it's not a glitch.

Thanks all!

The beauty of Hyatt is also the fact that it's truly ZERO OOP for award bookings. We transferred last year and last week and both instances, points were deposited immediately. @Oscar Madison we stayed there as well last year and despite the "destination fee" mentioned, it's not actually applied. Award bookings are all covered.

Hilton is the same way. I think that is why I find the 50k for swolphin so awful...marriott doesn't waive the fees.

Clearly been a long day, I read that as rest rooms and was so confused until I got to the 2020 part and realized what I should have read :surfweb::coffee:

Updating my CC spreadsheet after a long day of DISing (seriously, I think I posted the most I have EVER posted today and had a great time!)

I am just shy of $4,000 on my Amex Plat and am ~80% done with the MSR after the Sams APs. I really hope the RAT doesn't think its normal for me to just drop $4,000 in less than 2 weeks of having a card! Hopefully a normal pattern can play out for the rest of the MSR period and year.

Oh, you're talking about Disney's new release of RestRoom+. Starting in 2020, the new RestRoom+ on your MDE app will allow you to book those all-important pit stops up to 60 days in advance.
  • On-site Resort guests will be offered up to Four "#1 RestRoom+ ARRs" and up to Two "#2 RestRoom+ ARRs".
  • For those staying offsite, you'll be limited to just Two and One respectively.
  • These ARRs will allow you to access "the facilities" with little to no wait inside of a well defined 17 minute window.
  • For an additional charge of $7.99 plus tax per day you can purchase the Deluxe RestRoom+ package which doubles your "comfort time".
  • For those who especially enjoy their "me time", you'll want to reserve the Magical Restroom Spectacular Party which includes unlimited restroom visits, your very own Mickey Themed "Squatty Potty" and access to the RestRoom+ Deluxe lounge with complimentary soft drinks and finger foods.
  • While there is no official time limit to how long you may spend in a RestRoom+ facility, cast members may gently ask you to move it along should you abuse your entitlements.
When asked for comment, Robert Iger said: "At Walt Disney World Resort, we are constantly looking for new ways to deliver the best experience possible for our Guests – from the moment they book their vacation through the very last attraction they visit in the theme parks. We know that Guests are increasingly looking for options that fit their individual needs and simplify the planning process. This new program will be an enhancement to the overall guest experience and feature a stunning user-friendly interface to manage one of the most important time of day for many of our guests. "

Capacity may be limited so make sure to reserve your RestRoom+ ARRs early and often!

I know it's been said before but I've got to say we've got an awesome group here. I think it's great a bunch of us are cool with others having their cell number so we can have a group text for swge, other parts of the board wouldn't do that. I like that while there is a dis community as a whole, that we have our own tiny one here where we actually know stuff about each other, even if we have to rely on @Lain spreadsheet to remind us :)

And on a completely different note, I hate the shift in baseball. It annoys me and why does the 3b have to swap with the ss or anything. I realize it works sometimes but whenever they put the graphic up of the shift I roll my eyes.

I LOVE this! Especially the inclusion of a squatty potty, which I find fascinating after hearing RuPaul talk about it on his podcast. I will laugh so much if someone googles something, finds this and posts about it as a new rumor. Glad Bob's behind it too. I am slightly concerned about the finger foods though, is there mandatory hand washing prior to entering the food area?

I have to agree 100%! It is so refreshing to be in a thread where everyone is civil, respectful, and helpful! We all tend to come here with pretty much all Disney, travel, and even life questions. It may move fast, but where else can you do that?

Just earlier I was reading a thread and people made comments about it getting off-track when I felt the posts were VERY on-track with the original title. I guess you just can't please everyone!
