I finally gave up and had them cancel my Jetblue Biz. I thought about registering for an EIN but was worried that may not be enough and was just over the whole situation. Fingers crossed for your DH card that does the trick!

The annual fee had posted on my card but wasn't yet due and the rep told me he'd have to check if they could waive it. When I was cancelling. A card that I was never allowed to use! Ridiculous. It was waived, or so I'm told. I'll have to double check to make sure.

I guess I'll plan to get my DH the Jetblue personal at some point (not even gonna try a biz card for him, don't wanna chance having to go through this crap again), but we're working on my CIP right now.

The annual fee posted for ours too and I just paid it because I figure it will be easier to fight them for a refund than to fight a delinquent mark on his credit report.

Dear Disneyland peeps,

It’s 9:38am on Sunday June 23. The wait for PP is 25 mins, Dumbo 10, Matterhorn 20, Indy 20.... I’m looking for others who, despite being awesome churners, have no plans to DLR this summer to cry with :scared:

I’m crying with you!! Especially because for SOs birthday trip to world june8th-15th the parks were packed. We made the decision to skip DLR and go to WDW even though he would have rather went to DLR avoid the Star Wars madness. we didn’t know the exact date when we made the plans but knew it would be around then. I really regretted not going once I saw how Disney handled it.

Spent the weekend in St. Pete after Clearwater. Very interesting area, especially more so this weekend as it was Pride Festival time. Had no idea. Was very confused at first as I noticed all the flags and even the cars in the Lyft app were flags. My idea of fun is not to be in the middle of 250,000 extra people. But I did make DH go to the parade. It was interesting. We really enjoyed the Dali museum and the Chihuly Collection museum. Also made it to the Holocaust Museum. These were all “free” with a reciprocal membership from home. I think I enjoyed this area much more than Key West.

@Judique My restaurants from the Clearwater trip- Columbia enjoyed. We have been to the one in St. Augustine and DH has been to the original several times. The made at the table Sangria was yummy and so was the food. Maggie Mae’s was busy place. It is only open till 2:30. I didn’t like what I ordered, but I think DH did. Shorty’s is actually a little store with a restaurant in back. Was not expecting much walking in, but I really liked my food here. All 3 places have seating on the water and are in the plaza next to the Marriott. We also made a trip to Dunedin. It is a neat little town and we enjoyed walking around there also and ate dinner there.

We got B45 boarding this time checking in right at 1 hr before. After the hard time we had with B20 boarding we decided to buy the A boarding with our Priority card. Waiting for our flight now.

Today’s the last day of reservations for SWGE. I really do think that’s been depressing park crowds. People aren’t going to go to Disneyland (and spend all that money) if they can’t also visit SWGE. They’ll just put off their trip until they don’t need a reservation. Starting tomorrow, all bets are off.

We’ll be back in August, and I’ll try to snag a boarding pass and ressie at Oga’s each day. :)

So after poking around more in his new business account I can see where it says the card was ordered yesterday. It says his name and Hilton Biz. I can't find my name anywhere in the account. I checked under managers since I had obviously put my name as owner and it isn't there either. The Hilton account they automatically set up is also in his name. So maybe it really will come in his name. Let my dumb mistake be a warning I guess, to always make sure you are logged out before applying for a different card.

Speaking of irrational fears, I have many, but the idea that I could accidentally commit a major crime is one of them! So let's hope that's not how the situation looks to Amex :guilty:
It’s not irrational that you’re husbands account could be up while you were applying for a separate account for yourself

My irrational fear is spiders too. I blame it all on that Arachnophobia movie that I watched when I was like 18yo. I've never been the same. I cannot look at spiders on tv, pics and if I see one in the house and it doesn't get killed, I cannot sleep at all. Once when we first moved into this house 6 years ago, I walked into our bedroom closet at about 1am. I closed the door and when I looked up, there was a spider on the wall. I froze and stood there for two hours. I couldn't do anything but just stare at this spider knowing in my head that this was silly to be acting this way but unable to do anything differently. Somehow after a two hour standoff, I was able to run out the door, grab some windex and windex it to death :scared1: If I see one in our basement, I will have nightmares that night. I'm bad. I know it's irrational...'spiders are out friends cause they eat the really harmful bugs' (whatever!) and 'the spiders are far more afraid of you than you are of them' (um, excuse me, have you been inside MY head and theirs!?!!?). None of that computes. I see a spider and I'm paralyzed in fear. Thankfully, my dh knows how spiders affect me and he tries to intercede wherever he can!
That was the worst movie ever, it's like they were trying to jumpstart small healthy reactions into phobias. I had a small fear of spiders before that movie, afterwards, full out phobia. Didn't help waking up to one running up my face towards my eye. Thats a sight I can't ever forget! I woke the house up with that one and consequently couldn't sleep the rest of the night because in automatic reaction I flung it off my face and had no idea where it ended up, so no one could kill it! I knew it was plotting revenge under the sheets somewhere :scared1:
I live in spider mecca, all kinds seem to coexist at my house - big ugly ones, small tiny thin ones, and everything in between. Some like the grass, some like the trees, they dig every square inch of my house inside and out and a few like my front door and have built human sized webs right in front of it... I don't like to think about that too much...

But since spiders are a daily thing no matter where I lived here, and over much time, I'm back to being able to deal with the small ones myself and any that are too big or ugly looking are hubby's job. I still get wigged out on some and can't get near it. I know my reaction is justified when even he is hesitant to take one on and there's been a few times sizing it up he's said "yeah you're just waiting for it to take revenge when I only cripple it to get the life insurance."

One time as a teen at home in the UK, I woke up and felt like something was crawling on my arm - I looked down and sure enough there it was.........I never jumped out of bed so fast. In the process I lost the spider and couldn't find it again. Spiders were quite common in our home, but this was the one and only time I woke to find one on me.

I won't post a picture on here....but for for those curious - google UK Giant House Spider. :scared:😨
Um no thanks, don't need to see anything called "giant" ... thanks for not posting the pic, ignorance is bliss!

What exactly have the issues been with Biz cards with Barclays lately? Have the problems only been for those who are applying for their first biz card?

I wonder if WDW will be the same during the StarWars opening, at least at the other parks. I cancelled an August 25 trip because of anticipated crowds.

We started in Orlando before our Melbourne Beach trip last year and so did DHs brother. He complained about stopping for tolls and we were like huh, we didn’t have any. Turns out we had our GPS set to no tolls. I think it took us about the same amount of time.
When we went to Epcot the other day it predicted a 30 minute difference if we went the route with no tolls. If we aren’t in a hurry next time we may take the no toll route but I think we’ll probably just buy a SunPass and drive through.

If anyone is interested in worrying about another fear/phobia, I was once stung by a scorpion. While asleep in my bed.

Threw back the sheet to see it making it's way toward the leg of it's next victim, but we were able to flee the bed and squash it with a shoe before any additional damage was done.

The joys of southwest living...
Nope nope nope, not happening for me

Curiosity got me. That's crazy size for a house spider. We have Banana spiders, that are similar to that but a little bigger. Their webs are tough. We were trying to knock one down one time and the stick we used got stuck in the web, then we watched in horror as the spider came over untangled it and dropped it to the ground. That was unnerving. Generally speaking though the banana spider is a "good" spider.

Hotel bookings are supposedly strong right when it opens but then the month of Sept still has lots of availability- although no discounts have been released yet. Should be interesting.

I’m thinking of the JetBlue biz because they have good redemptions to Colombia and the SUB can get almost all of us there. Did you apply as a sole proprietor with your name as business name and your Social Security as EIN?
I’ve hated my experience with the Barclay Aviator (received my 60k miles yesterday! Hope to never have to see that card again!) but this card would be really helpful.

:welcome: to the thread!

I suspect the Experts here will recommend Chase Inc Preferred (CIP) Biz first, followed by AmEx, but I've only been here a couple of months, so wait for others to chime in. And I learned for CIP Biz, it is easier to use the Airbnb as a Sole Proprietorship than as a EIN business (I think just because it will require (more) paperwork as a legit business).

I'm thinking we may do Aruba for fall break instead of our usual Sandesin. The Hilton is available at 80k points a night (only 10k more than Sandestin) and we can smuggle an extra kid or two according to my fellow DISers who have stayed there before. AA flights are 12.5k each way or SW if theirs come down at all. ATM I don't have many SW points left, and will have enough AA miles in a month, so that is what I am waiting on to book. This is exciting!

For those who have done Aruba, do you think 5 nights is sufficient?
5 nights is plenty. Aruba is seriously just nice beaches, nice people and good food. We are doing 7 nights in Feb and im a bit worried the kids will get bored. PM me if you decide to go and I can give you some restaurant and activity recommendations. We stayed at the Hilton it’s a really nice property, love the section of the beach. The fall tends to be pretty low crowd wise too. It’s a bit pricey but I can give you some tips to keep the cost down a little!
online order?
Yes you can order online I’ve done the target e cards.
Also @wendow Ibotta has worked for me with cb at Staples. So if you wanted to do Disney it may offset the shipping fee
Thanks! Will call today. We are at wdw 8/6-15, doing a split between POR and Swan.
What happened to POP?
