How should I proceed on this? I booked Springhill Suites Oakland for our trip. It was supposed to open this month I believe, then I noticed online opening date was pushed to 8/15, our arrival is 8/16. I booked a Hyatt that will fit all 6 of us, just in case. I've been waiting and watching.

Springhill Suites: 2 beds + sleeper trundle (one boy on the couch, one on the trundle) = perfect
Hyatt: 2 Q Suite with sleeper sofa (I have an camping sleeping pad and bag we'll be taking along) = this will work for 2 nights

I just got an email:
It is with deepest regret that we must announce the SpringHill Suites by Marriott Oakland Airport opening will now take place towards the end of August.

The Full-Service Holiday Inn & Suites directly across from us has been gracious to honor your reservation. They will also provide complimentary breakfast in their restaurant.

The Holiday Inn and Suites will be emailing an updated confirmation 5 PM PST tomorrow at the latest.

Sounds great, but HI won't sleep more than 4. Do I ask if Springhill will honor 2 rooms since HI is inadequate with only 1 room? Do I expect some type of compensation and request to just cancel?

I got the super nice customer rep at the Courtyard 37th St in Va Beach to comp us breakfast for tomorrow! I had mentioned that I thought I got free breakfast for being Platinum, she apologized and said breakfast was on her tomorrow :) That works so we can get Duck Donuts one morning because what’s better than a fresh made-to-order 🍩! Yum!

When you made the reservation, did you indicate there would be 6 guests? If so, then I think they should take that into account that your party won’t fit in a single room.

I'm guessing @elgerber got your answer, but after seeing her comment the other day I remembered that there isn't a link to another account like usual. You just go to the bill pay and put in your account that you are transferring to and pay a "bill" to yourself. It's not the most user friendly site, but for a quick MSR I'll put up with it.
No one has mentioned closing it. Assuming since they’re website is bad, you have to call?
https://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/homemade-soft-pretzel-bites/I got on a bread kick and made the easy bread in a dutch oven, french bread, focaccia bread, and tried making my own sourdough starter. The only thing that failed me was trying to start sourdough starter. Looked for anything with yeast and I love soft pretzels.
Looks delicious. I’ve made recipes from that blog before. Mmm
But the little guy has such an evil expression

That’s funny that you mention the lights thing. When we saw Aladdin they forgot to turn the lights off. The beginning of that movie is dark so all we could see was a glare. One lady even yelled lights and they didn’t do anything. Luckily two of them left to tell them. I’ve never had them forget to turn the lights off before. I think my AMC theater just sucks lol
Sensory friendly means lights on and volume low. I’m hard of hearing, so I couldn’t hear it and it was hard to see with the lights on. (We actually bought regular tickets but somehow they made that showing sensory friendly without notifying us).

Plastiq people: I would like to start paying my auto loan next month. It is due on the 10th. Do I put 8/10 as the arrival date or do I put an earlier date? Definitely don't want it to be late. Is it guaranteed to arrive on the arrival date?

Didn't someone tell me they were able to charge their upgrade to AP costs to their room at Universal? I'm searching and searching but no luck.

DoC linked a post by Running With Miles in his recap this morning, which goes into how credit card affiliate relationships like the kind on most major points and miles blogs (*ahem* TPG and MMS) require or create incentives for bloggers to withhold critical information from the readers that could help them decide which card is best for them.

I'm wondering what RWM is talking about? 🤔
https://thepointsguy.com/2018/03/40k-delta-reserve/https://thepointsguy.com/news/delta-amex-current-offers/
Yep, zero mention of the fact that you can only get one card bonus per card per lifetime.

And zero mention of the fact that those cards just recently had bonuses that were much higher than that amount (and are likely to go back up again).

See:

RWM goes on:

PLEASE DON'T RELY ON BLOGGERS TO TELL YOU WHICH CREDIT CARD YOU SHOULD GET. AND LET'S NOT ENCOURAGE THEM BY CLICKING ON THEIR CREDIT CARD AFFILIATE LINKS.

Here at the DIS and DISchurners, we'll always try to give you the our best advice and all the information you need to make the best decision about what card is right for you.
And this is why we love you! (And why you should never lose sleep over advice you give here)

Since self-referral is no longer kosher, check to see if you're targeted for the 20k MR/$3k MSR BBP offer.
https://www.doctorofcredit.com/ymmv...s-20000-point-offer-with-3000-spend-requirem/
I don't believe the public offer on the BBP has any SUB. If you have a P2 with an Amex (not co-branded) credit or charge card, he could refer you to the BBP for a 10k MR SUB and P2 would get whatever support bonus the referring card earns.

Let me know if you have any questions before applying.
I guess I am not targeted 😂

Huh I’ve never heard of a sensory friendly showing before. I would be a little upset if they switched my movie to that

Didn't someone tell me they were able to charge their upgrade to AP costs to their room at Universal? I'm searching and searching but no luck.
I tried to put APs on my room charge at Portofino a couple of years ago and the rep couldn’t get it to work. I had to pull a charge card. It may have been the amount that they authorize to allow for room charging so you might want to make sure you have even since they only upfront authorize a set amount.

Both? I'd start with the first and then move on to the 2nd. They probably shouldn't have been taking reservations if they didn't have a firm date. Hopefully they had a clause with the construction co for being late and they get extra money from them for the delay.

Or wait to see what the HI sends first since maybe they'll see you had 1 room for 4 and give you two rooms.

All you soft pretzel eaters need to get one at the sams club snack bar next time you are in there. They are soooo good...taste like fresh dough and not chewy, just soft. Yum!
The pretzel bites at Auntie Anne’s are yum and they come in bucket size which is dangerous.
My DS9 requested we do a culinary class for his homeschooling. I am so looking forward to letting him plan and make some meals! :yay:
My DS is so competitive that competition cooking shows got him interested. He loves Kids Baking Championship and Worst Cooks in America. For his bday he got a couple cookbooks and a baking kit from Baketivity. He prefers baking to cooking but usually makes dinner about once a week now (basic stuff but stil...)

I asked a question in the r/churning question thread today. I was not downvoted and people answered me normally.

But I swear I'm catching up on the thread now and it looks like every other question was downvoted. What is the point of having a question thread if everyone is going to get mad... when someone asks a question?

We like Bubba gump at city walk and will be at UO 12/31-1/2. Looking into the card.
Online is fine. Buy it well before your trip so you have time for the physical card to arrive. Idk if you need the physical card to use the seating benefit but better safe than sorry!
Thanks for the info! I think we're going to try this. I've never had trouble being timely sat at Y&Y with an ADR, but the only Y&Y available for dinner right now is at 4:30 and our FoP FP is at 4:20. So I'm thinking we'll ride FoP at 4:20 and then just head straight across the park to Y&Y afterwards with a Landry's card and be fine.
And don’t forget to pick up discounted GCs before you go. Costco usually has McCormick and Schmick $80 for $100 GCs

Mmmmmmmmm Duck Donuts! I'm the only one in the family who can eat them (bc allergies) so I get a $10 gift card every year as a gift :thumbsup2 When I want a donut, I make myself walk downtown (about 2 miles) for it

... But I've read multiple posts that say to buy the Landry's card and that will get you in faster anyways. Anyone have experience doing that for a party larger than 4?

I'm pretty sure we have used it for a party of 8 (4 adult/4 kid). We've used it at Yak n Yeti, Rainforest x2, TRex, Landry's, Charlie's Crab, and Bubba Gumps. Very convenient, because we don't plan days out very close. Just eat when we get hungry (or dash in to avoid a storm).

I would suggest listing your "birthday" at a time when you usually visit Disney for the bonus $25 (or choose among family members for an optimal month). Seems like it can be used within about 45 days of the actual birthday.
