Hi all! I have friends who have expressed interest in dipping their toes in the cc game. They’re cautious, so we’re starting slow.

Both have CSRs (opened over 6 months ago). No other new cards in the past 24 months.

I’m trying to encourage the idea of a business card, and they’re excited about the CIP. They brought up a few questions I really didn’t have solid answers to:

“Do I need to keep records of proof of income for my ‘business?’”

“Won’t the IRS want to know where I’m reporting this “income” when I file my taxes?”

One of the two has an actual business, set up with an EIN. I told him he may be better off applying as a sole proprietor with his SSN, as they tend to be scrutinized less. Is this true? Any harm in him doing it either way?

p.s. I love scotcharoos.

@SouthFayetteFan - if I’m asking anything you’d rather I not, feel free to let me know and I’ll edit/censor myself.

The answer to your first 2 questions is absolutely no. The IRS will know nothing about this business card. The sole prop vs their actual business is a toss up when you’re talking to friends like this. If they feel better using the business then they should do that.

And these are very appropriate questions for the thread. Getting a CIP card is not an “advanced strategy” but thanks for checking too :D

My twins just got their driver's license last week. I had to drive 100 hours combined with them. That almost did me in. We drove to six different states in the last year to get all their hours in. Is it just Michigan that has a high number of required hours before the kids can get a license? They had to drive 30 hours after taking Segment 1 driving classes then they had to take a Segment 2 class then drive another 20 hours (including 10 night hours) then take a road test. It's a graduated license so they still won't get their full license until they are 17.

I met spend on CIP on Saturday and the points are already pending today! I did do the Bonvoy upgrade to the Brilliant and confirmed that I did have that offer attached to the card (thanks for the advice @vanjust14 to make sure)

Sole Prop with EIN or SSN didn't seem to make a difference for me. Sometimes I use one and sometimes the other. The important part is Sole Prop.

Yes! I’m trying to book dining for our cruise and same thing! So frustrating
I swear it was just working too! Maybe it went down at midnight and I wasn't paying attention?! I snagged some different SWGE stuff earlier today and shuffled plans around. All I want is a nice relaxing breakfast/lunch/brunch on departure day and this is making me frustrated :rotfl:

I'll just look at WDW food pics on Facebook instead for inspiration :thumbsup2

Ours is 50 hours here in CO too (with 10 night time driving hours). Bless your heart for doing this with two at the same time. I'd die.

My first car was a 1968 black Mercury Cougar. No power steering, power windows, power door locks or power brakes. No air conditioning, rear window defogger or intermittent wipers. It DID have a small block v8 engine though. Vroom vroom!

[QUOTE="Psychodisney, post: 61081933, member: I’m not a fan of cruise ship water. I stick with bottled water. It may be in my head but I think I retain more water if I drink the cruise water.

I agree about the cruise ship water causing more swelling.

I started looking at CP dining packages tonight (no, @SouthFayetteFan, not CP or CP but CP) and they are all booked up. Is that for real? Did I miss all the dining packages already?!?! I just want a seat to see my dd sing :(
What party size are you searching for... 6? The dining website was being weird tonight, but the most availability I see is for lunch. Dinners are very limited and breakfast only has Ale and Compass left right now.

I am thinking I need to plan for all 6 of us at a breakfast or lunch PLUS my mom and her hubs. So, 8 total at a breakfast or lunch. If I can only get dinner, then I am guessing the dd who is singing will not be with us so we'd need 7. I tried looking at lunches cause I'd love to have us all together and I still couldn't bring anything up.

My dd is performing at the 6:45 and the 8 on 12/14. Lunch seems better in that case (or breakfast). Maybe splitting our party up. How did you bring up all those options?

I don't see any breakfast and dinner is only Biergarten. Can you split 6 and 2 (mom and husband)? Maybe the restaurant can accommodate with close tables or joining?

Rather than going to the actual CP page, I went to "Things to Do" and "Make Reservations"

Then I filtered to Epcot, date, meal type, and party size.

The availability for the CP packages are weird. It will also fluctuate as people drop regular Epcot ADRs.

All this talk of teens driving has me wondering what everyone’s first car was???

Mine was ‘91 Chrysler Lebaron convertible. I’m also 5 feet tall and love to do unauthorized investigative work, so I’m basically Veronica Mars.

My first car was an 'arrest me red' Nissan Sentra. I bought it myself and got pulled over plenty in the first year- yep, I have a heavy foot. I sweet talked my way out of all but one and I took defensive driving for that one. I cannot tell you how many times I've been pulled over and I've had like 3 tickets ever. Waterworks work is all I can say lol.

I'll text my mom tomorrow and see if they mind splitting up. I wonder if we split 4/4 if maybe that will open up more. Are you on your phone to get this view of availability?
