Same. I told DS and DH that every weekend is Disney Movie Night now.

They froze my account because they didn’t receive the snail mail with a copy of my DL. And they didn’t bother to tell me, so I tried to use the debit card a couple times before calling in to find out why it was declined

This is how I feel about watching with DS although it’s more about the movies since I didn’t grow up with Disney Channel. Lol

I had a bunch of VHS for my future child but lost them when our basement flooded. So I feel like now I have them back...and then some.

No smart TVs here, ours are pretty old as technology goes. I did buy 2 Roku last year to quit Xfinity. Our bill was just ridiculous. Of course now I’ve added sports stuff for DS it’s not as cheap as I was hoping.
Well so far I think Dh has liked boy meets world. He smiles and even chuckles here and there. I think Morgan is his favorite

I’m so excited to be going to my first MVMCP on the weekend of my birthday in December.. My 7 year old and I will be joining my brothers family for my nieces first Disney trip!!! And to tie it back to churning, I used the first discounted gift card I ever bought using a CSR offer :). Unfortunately, I will miss two of the other kids Christmas concert and will be driving home on my birthday but everything I read just sounds like so much fun.

Thanks! I decided to pull the trigger and approved! If I’m recalling correctly Amex won’t report this one until after the second statement closes, is that right? I might be able to sneak in another Chase app in that time.

Congrats!

You should have a couple months before the Green shows up. My DH got a Schwab Plat in mid Sept and it still has not shown up yet.

So this is weird- my husband’s very old (12 years at least) debit card was used at some shoe store nowhere near us. The thing is that debit card and the corresponding CC are in a safe, and we haven’t used them in almost a year (not even to online or to move money to another account). Thankfully that bank is still set up to alert us when its used so we caught it immediately and the transaction hand’t even posted yet. Still how does that happen?!?

(thankfully that PIN and password arealso not used anywhere else since my husband made that acct so long ago but I checked every CC and bank account to be safe).

Could she apply for it and you keep it "active" for her while she's out of the country? If she received it around Christmas break, she could put some/all of the MSR on it while she's home then you could babysit it and of course with her authorization use it monthly with AOs and/or a small charge? The 45K offer is really good for a $150 card.

Thank you, yes that is what I was thinking about, although with ApplePay we have been able to use one of her cards even though she has it. I asked her and she says she'll look into it when she is home. I agree that that 45K offer looks really good, although the $150 will make her think carefully about it.

I'm attempting to book my first flight using my UR points accumulated through my Chase Freedom card. Is there anything I should be aware of?

I'm booking flights on Air Canada, Pittsburgh to Vancouver. The flights through the UR portal are a bit cheaper than through Air Canada's website. Is that possible? Looks like all taxes are included, however Air Canada is one of those airlines that you pay for baggage and seat assignments. Since I will not be checking baggage, I usually just pay for my seats separately, after booking the flights.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

I watched BMW as an adult and found it cute and funny. I even saw 1 or 2 episodes of Girl meets World.
So far, DS is into animation only. He really dislikes watching real people. Lol.
I didn’t like girl meets world at all and Dh hated it. That’s why he was hesitant to watch BMW.

Y'all are making me wonder if I'm one of the last people that doesn't have a smart television (dd does and I have a smart tv in the family room in the Toronto house). No Roku or fire stick either. I have been eyeing a smart tv for a while now, but the wiring on the set in the den is a rats nest (it goes back to the day of Panasonic Elite, which has its own box -- wires everywhere) -- the wiring is in a separate room behind the television, so I'd have to pay someone to come and set up for sure!

I don't have one either. I have limited data for my internet so I can't run things like a Firestick or Roku because it uses GBs in the background. When I went to watch something streaming, I bring up the website on my Chromebook and then plug an HDMI cord from my tv into my Chromebook haha.

DH and I both worked from home today and watched The Mandalorian over lunch. I am hooked and can't wait for the next episode!

Just watched it too! Really liked it. That end fight scene was cool.

Well, the fine print says that it excludes gift cards, so I just assumed. If it got the bonus, that would be awesome. But also, I don't know if the gift cards were in the "Top Deals" section either.
They aren't. But that has not been an issue up to this point. Could start being at any time. But it has worked in the past.

Gift Cards actually are in the Top Deals, it's the last Top Deals category, really just depends on whether RMN enforces exclusions:

Didn’t realize how deep into this “hobby” I was until I tried to explain it to my parents this week. I found it very difficult to give a simple, bare bones “how to” description just because of the sheer volume of information and the complexity of it all. I wasn’t sure what to suggest they try to get started. Maybe you all have a suggestion. I don’t think they’d go for any business cards, and I don’t think they want an AF, though I might be able to talk them into a small one for a very special profitable card. I was thinking about suggesting CF and learning to max out the UR’s earnable each quarter as much as would be possible for them. Or maybe they’d consider one of the travel eraser type cards with ~$95 AF like the Venture. They don’t have any new cards the last two years. Any thoughts/ideas?

ETA They almost exclusively use a debit card now, but to my knowledge haven’t had any major cc’s ever other than a few store cards, one Discover card, and a CU Visa (all of these eons ago).
I totally get this struggle of being “in too deep”. I REALLY struggle to explain churning to the average joe anymore IRL unless they are very interested in learning!

I just ordered a set of Airpod Pros for DH. It will make the perfect item to put in his stocking and he will not be expecting it at all! To hit the $300, I put in a $25 Hulu and $30 Netflix card (money we would spend anyways). It won't get the 15% bonus, but it did trigger the Amex offer. With the 15% cashback and the $30 from Amex, it brings the Airpods to just below $200 with tax. Yay!
Wait...people are spending...$200-$300 on...headphones???? I think I am quite out of touch with normal people these days 🤣

Oh I think something else at the end was pretty cool 😉

Lol I thought I wanted AirPods until I realized what I could spend that money on instead

I was curious so I tested out a random date of your route. In the UR portal, under Important Flight Info, the one I tested says they're two 1-way flights. Do you have that? I see on Air Canada's site that two 1-ways are cheaper than a round trip. Which is super weird! If you do two 1-ways on Air Canada, do you then get the same price as the UR portal?

Do you only have a Chase Freedom? Going through the portal will only get you $0.01 per point, which is the same as if you cashed out the points. If you can get the same price, buying direct seems better. Easier to deal with no middle man if issues come up, and you can charge the flights for more points!
