December January & February Park Hours Update Watch/Discussion

For those of you that are planning to arrive the morning of the 5th at 5am, are you heading to the park entrance or the Boardwalk to walk over?

park entrance. If they do the opening the same way they did SWGE opening they will hold people from coming from the Epcot resorts until the parking lot at DHS opens up

Wait, why is that? I’ve read here that people are planning to take Uber etc. to arrive before the parking lot opens. We were planning to walk over from the Boardwalk early on Fri 6th. If the parking lot isn’t open, and they’re holding people from walking over from the Epcot resorts, how are people taking Uber to get in line 1st? I’m confused

Those people must not know what happened Aug 29th. I was there along with thousands of my closest friends
Long story:
we thought the parking lot would be open all night like in the good old days of star wars weekends, alas, we arrive around midnight and it's closed and theey tell us it won't open until 3:30am, Disney security and OC sheriff there to keep people from waiting. Some started circling around while some decided to uber/park at one of the epcot resorts. They were held, along with everyone at the walkway preventing them from walking into DHS until the parking lot opened and then we all got in at the same time. The park was scheduled to open at 6am. They walked us into Hollywood blvd at 4am, walked us into SWGE with everything opened inside the land at 4:30am
Now, again, we don't know how they will handle RotR opening, we don't know if the parking lot will close for the night and we don't know if they will allow people to walk over from Epcot resorts whenever they want.

You can walk as far as where Security has set up a hard stop along the walkway. On August 29, the horde was stopped under an overpass. Twitter was filled with Tweets from that location.

On December 5, We have an 8:30 am RR FP and a 10:25 am Oga's reservation.....are we gonna have to get in line super super early just to get into the park, so we don't miss the FP and Oga's reservation?

you won't need to get in line super early if your goal is to hit your fp. Say you arrive at 8am, it will be busy at the entrance but not more than a 30 min delay to get in

CMs only have their schedules through Dec 7th.

Without EMH, all guests have the opportunity to rope drop.

I sincerely hope they add more hours. This afternoon at HS was chaos. I have never seen it like that before.

They desperately need those 2 rides to open.

I was just now able to grab an Oga’s reservation for 10:10 pm on December 28th. There was also 10:15 and 10:25 pm. Right now park is scheduled to close at 10pm. Could this be an indicator that they are extending park hours that night?

Not necessarily. This is happening with 9pm closing as well where people are able to book until 9:30.
