Request for help on the BJ's Volume Discount:

I would very much appreciate any help in getting into contact with the appropriate person. Who is the contact for volume gift card sales at BJ's, please? Thank you so much.

I have tried the customer service number provided on their website, in the past, and I have tried emailing, too. But have never received a return contact. Until this morning.

I just got off the phone with a salesman in their B2B department (B2B = business to business), and he assured me that they do not sell volume discounted gift cards (or tires, he added). I emphasized that I believe volume discounts are made available from time to time, by some branch of the BJ's Wholesale Company.

Thank you so much for posting information about this discounted gift card opportunity, and for further information on how to successfully complete a purchase. Take care, all, and Happy New Year.

Look on post 34751 on this thread. I contacted Brian in Nov and he helped me. or search for Lockhart on this thread.

Thanks very much. I have tried both of those fellows, and concluded that I had outdated information. With your input, though, I will continue until successful. Thank you, again. I really appreciate it.

I’ve been reading through the BJ’s volume card posts and just had a quick newbie question: do I need to have a business membership to take advantage of this? Or can I take advantage of it with a personal membership?

Personal membership works. Even the online only membership, which is $10/yr, works.

Here is a screenshot of the contact information from the email I received. I have received an email from them every time they have a sale on larger amounts, which started after the first time I purchased a large amount of gift cards online from BJ’s. This email came from Bryant Sullivan, but I have also received emails from Bryan Lockhart.

Thank you for your kind and detailed assistance. I will report back here with my progress.

For those buying the high volume from BJ's, do you put $7500 on a credit card? Does your credit card allow such a high amount?
I haven’t done it yet for the gift cards but I paid for my DVC purchase with a single transaction on my card before. I just called the card company up ahead of time to let them know that I was making a large purchase and the approximate amount. I’m planning to use these cards to pay my DVC fees and to buy APs.

So I just received the following information from BBB regarding my rebate:

"We recently received your rebate submission for "Purchase $100 or More of Select Third Party Gift Cards and Receive a $15 Bed Bath and Beyond Gift Card" promotion.

Unfortunately, we could not honor your request due to the following reason(s):

Not enough purchased
Missing Order Number
Invalid POS Record Not Found
Invalid Purchase Location"

Well, I see they are going to make us really work to get the rebate. *sigh*

For using the Happy cards at BBB, I know it's a bit up to the cashier you get but what's the best strategy? If I have 6 cards, should I do 6 separate transactions or just use them all at once? What's the least likely to get me denied? :) Our BBB only has the $50 Disney cards and I have 6 of the $50 Happy cards.

Honestly, I would do them one at a time. I figured out that one of the BBB in my area has the credit card swiping machine way off to the side where the cashier really can't see it. I like to go to this one. If I have more than one, each time I'm in the area, I get a card.

Though now that I had a run in with the manager at the other BBB I go to, I might go there more. It was a good run in. The associate happened to spot me trying to use my Happy Card and she refused to put it through. Called the manager over her told her just to run it as credit (which is what I was TRYING to get the associate to do, to no avail). So at least I know one manager is down with me doing it.

Here is the trick I use with the happy cards at BBB (please don't repost this on other blogs, otherwise word gets out and they will know to look for this).

Just a little background, at the beginning of November, I decided to make a trial run on Happy Cards at BBB to make sure they were still working for gift cards before I started buying a whole bunch of them. The first BBB I went to as soon as I swiped the happy card (the cashier was watching like a hawk) the cashier immediately said you can't use that and cancelled the transaction. So I didn't get a DP on whether it would work. So I went a little out of my way to another BBB and there it worked without any problem, the cashier didn't care. So I had my DP that they were working.

So I came up with the following solution to avoid nosy cashiers. I scanned in the front of my credit card into my computer (I used a credit card where the credit card number is on the back of the card, not the front) and then used Microsoft Word to make a full page of Avery labels with the image of the credit card (I got 8 on the page). I then used a color printer to print them and cut and pasted the image of my credit card onto the front of the happy cards. I have not had any problems since with the cashiers! (I did have a few try to tell me you have to put in the chip, I just replied the chip doesn't work on this one and proceeded to swipe. MAKE SURE TO HIT CREDIT when the option of credit or debit comes up).

I personally avoid trying to do more than one transaction at a time or trying to split transactions, that makes it a much higher risk that you will draw attention to yourself and end up getting shot down.

Again, please do not repost this trick in other blogs.

What’s the best credit card with BJ’s rewards and interest free period? Looking to use the credit for gift cards, then buy 4 annual passes:)

if this is the wrong thread for this, can someone direct me to the correct one:)

Thank you so much for sharing the contact info and emails!

On another note - Chase bonus reward category this quarter includes gas stations. Any random chance the gas stations will sell Disney gift cards?? :moped:

I've been wondering this! Because I usually don't max out the gas stations when we have that category and the others are kinda lame. No way I can max out with streaming services and cable bill. Though, my cable bill IS getting fairly ridiculous these days. I was considering maybe just getting some Shell gift cards for gas later in the year.

Yup. This was also reported on DoC by posters. Very frustrating. I hope it gets resolved for you soon.
