Underground economy

thats ok, Im a big boy. There isnt anything illegal about getting a haircut.

I personally don't care what you do. It doesn't affect me and you're a grown adult who makes their own choices in life.

But don't start with the you didn't do anything you weren't supposed to do. Your thread has the word "underground" in it for a reason. If you were all squeaky clean then your whole topic would be pretty boring because it would just say....I needed a haircut so I went to where I normally get a haircut and had mindless small talk during the process -- the end.

.........tamales from the back end of a pick-up truck on the corner of what is a major intersection from Jan 1 to April 1....but now a ghost town intersection, have never stopped there, but always see folks Sunday morning waiting for orders.

and not sure if the isolated border community in Mexico would be considered underground, as the US has not closed that border town that is probably the largest shopping mall open to the US.....but no one is shopping there anyhow.

I'm fine with having my haircut and roots grow out. Nobody is seeing my blonde highlights growing out except for my colleagues who are in the same predicament, and my students who are just happy to see my face on their computers.

Not getting my hair done and my DD's hair done is saving me $400. We also have to skip our pedicures. That's another $100. I took that $500 and ordered myself a Disney Pandora bracelet, a safety chain, and four charms.

That's a win for me!

I'd like your opinions on a mobile dog groomer coming to my home. They work out of a van, park in he driveway. I'd pay on-line for the visit. I think I could just open the door to let the dog out and then open it back up to let him in when they are done? Not sure. The only reason I want to do it is because the dog's nails are really long and I think it might be uncomfortable for him. I have no idea how to cut a dog's nails nor do I want to try because I've read that if you do it wrong it causes pain. (The dog belongs to an adult child who is currently living with me and my spouse--I never wanted to have a dog!).

Mobile dog groomer - depending on how much traffic is on your street, maybe have them call when they get there, leash the dog and tie them to a tree or bumper, reverse the process, and of course, wash your hands? Presuming friendly dog, just hate to have a dog running loose near a street.

I broke down and placed a $40 Sally’s Beauty Supply order last week for highlighting supplies. DD and I are overdue for blonde highlights and trims. I watched a YouTube video to refresh my memory, so I’m comfortable doing the highlights. I did have to research the number developer I needed. I don’t want to burn our hair off or anything!!! Her hair just needs a quick trim on the bottom. And I already cut my own bangs. My layers will have to wait though. This should be interesting!!!

Who on earth are you trying to "look good" for?

Seriously! By the end of the month I am going to look beyond ridiculous with my roots and limp, shapeless, superfine hair, but who cares. My husband is going to look equally ridiculous with how his hair appears to be growing out, so we can have a nice laugh at one another. It isn't like we will be the only ones looking an utter mess. I am letting my nails breathe by letting my dip powder grow out and just keeping the length trimmed super short, I am at about 50% now. I even bought one of those foot mask things where all your skin peels off after you use it leaving behind (hopefully) soft skin, perfect time to do it since no one is going to see my feet.

I haven't been to a hair stylist in about 15 years. We die my hair at home, I cut my own bangs and they look like it. I have longish hair and trim the ends about every 6 months myself and they look like it. Hubby and the dog go about every 6 to 8 weeks to get their hair cut (not to the same place but that might be interesting). I trimmed the dogs "mustache" and "beard" (she is a yorkie we keep in a puppy cut) yesterday and it looks like it but she isn't dragging her hair through her food. I shaved hubby's neck yesterday and told him if he wanted anything else done, tough luck dude, it ain't happening. I've actually stopped dying my hair during this just because why not. Up until now I haven't seen the real color of my hair in about 45 years, I knew it was gray since I tend to go too long before I do the roots but am now discovering just how gray and just how dark my natural hair color really was. I go by my office once a week to check the mail but am the only one in the building. Hubby works from home and has for the last 20 or so years and rarely even leaves the house. He has been to the grocery store a couple of times in the last 6 weeks but I'm pretty sure the people at Kroger don't care if his hair is longish.

Dog grooming is not included in all lockdowns, including my state. Same as veterinarians and stores that sell pet food and supplies. We haven’t seen yet if our groomer is open, and one of my babies really needs his hair done.

There is a chance that a haircut by someone who does not live in your household is also allowed, but I don’t care enough to delve into guidelines to see.

A bar in my town had to have its liquor license revoked because some people just can't follow the rules.

My best friend lives in Idaho. Her daughter and son-in-law (one a stylist, the other a barber) She said that initially her son-in-law considered giving cuts in his backyard, until he found out he would lose his barber license or something like that. (Disclaimer-I can't remember what it was he would lose, but whatever it was, it would effect his ability to go back to work if anyone found out he was doing it and reported it.)

Don't nag the OP because maybe the hairclipper has 6' arms.

I can. You should see all the complaining and moaning on FB. You've seen it here, too. Their "freedom" is more important than keeping people alive. It's all about them, they don't care about anyone else.

always laugh when I see someone say we're all in this together - no, we are not.

Best be careful or you might get some points. I did.

Our lockdown allows for dog groomers, but only for the health or safety of the pet. For me, that means a nail trim is upcoming for one of the dogs (the other 2 are fine, no idea why one grows so danged fast). I do not even own trimmers and they're getting awful. I don't even need a groomer really, because my vet's nurses do an incredible job with nails. Their current system involves them coming out to my car to fetch the pet, and calling me when they're done so I know they're coming back out. Anything else can wait. I can keep them brushed and clean enough.

Absolutely no reason to worry about myself in all this.
