If Disney brings in the NBA there is no way the parks will open soon. You think they are going to put Joe Schmo in a “bubble community” with highly paid athletes? I find it much more likely they looking to offset tevenie losses by replacing park admissions with NBA money
I think there is a very decent possibility Disney was going to have to close down some resorts anyway. Maybe they re-accommodate guests to other locations or maybe they offer some special deal to people if they have to cancel their stay.
But, it wouldn't shock me if Disney shut down a resort or two and kept them for NBA players only.
Was she wearing a mask? Once the CDC said it was OK to wear, a lot of people here think that as long as they have a mask they can be right next to you.
Dave
She was, as was I. But still.
In another situation, we were standing in the little produce part of the Target. Which if anyone wasn't familiar, it's sort of a large are between two refrigerated shelves on each side. And, then in the middle there are 4 or 5 little islands of produce, bread, whatever. Think of it almost like the letter H.
There was a lady and I, far away from each other...I was on one end, she was on the other, viewing the refrigerated items...in one of the aisles. One side of the H, if you will. The other aisle, the other side of the H was completely empty. So, here comes a guy and his child completely unmasked. Now, he didn't need anything in either of these aisles or any of the islands in the middle. They were just passing through to get to the other side. But, instead of going through the other side of the H...or going down to another empty aisle to use it.....he and his unmasked child pushed their cart right behind us in our aisle, all the way through. It was 5 seconds, no big deal, I didn't make any contact with him. But still....if other areas are empty, why not take the extra step or two to walk down a completely clear lane? Idiots.
I hope people that plan on wearing a mask bring dozens. People touch their mask several times a day. They sweat, cough and sneeze in them. They touch them and then they touch surfaces.
One mask is not meant to be worn for more than an hour or so. Showering a couple times a day and using hand sanitizer and washing hands is much more effective
I really don’t see WDW requiring masks not just for the reasons I listed above, but also for the facial recognition they have all over the park. Masks flying off on rides is another reason especially in a park like AK where it could endanger the animals.
One thing I thought about, and this kind of comes back to supply and waste...perhaps instead of recommending masks all the time, they could have masks available at the beginning of each attraction/queue. And then, somewhere to dispose, right after the attraction? Essentially, masks would be required on attractions only. This would cut back on all of the cross contamination that would happen with people touching and re-using the same masks all day. But, if you think of rides like 7DMT where people's mouths are open and screaming, and then the train moves you into the air space where those aerosol droplets could still be...maybe it would be like....sanitize hands, take a mask and put it on, then you get off the ride, dispose mask in a receptacle, and re-sanitize hands.
I realize the number of masks needed would be astronomical, and again, waste. But, it may be the best option. At least it would hopefully keep things contained to each individual attraction, and not people fussing with their masks all over the park, then touching a trash can or something else.
