EXPIRED - Direct Sales Incentives - Summer 2020 - Expanded list!

Ugh I am confused. I was planning on purchasing 200 points at Rivier in March (right as they shut everything down, went on tour the last full day I was there, which was the day before Disney closed, came home reviewed with family, called and offices were closed).
Looking at the offer points sheet I was given in March for Riviera and what it currently listed on the website the price appears to be exactly the same. What is the $25 and $30 dollar incentive? How does that come in? I'm trying to determine if I can now afford more points, based on the incentive. Help, please?

200 points x $195 = $39,000 - $5000(incentive or $25 off a point with 200-299 points) = $34,000
215 points x $195 = $41,925 - $5375 = $36,550
220 points x $195 = $42,900 - $5500 = $37,400
225 points x $195 = $43,875 - $5625 = $38,250

So now you can get 215 points for $36,550. So about 15 more points than the old deals.

For Comparison to Copper Creek discounts are the same but CCV starts at $220 a point so...

200 points x $220 = $44,000 - $5000 = $39,000

Thank you, that was super helpful!

So if I have a fixed week and I don't use it then I can call MS and get the number of points I paid for that FW? E.g. Week 17 is 200 points, so if I don't want that week a particular year I'd get 200 points that use year?

If that's all correct *and* then it makes a lot of sense to purchase a FW at a point level close to what you want spend.

You would get 220 points back to use as floating points because the fixed week charges a 10% premium at the time of purchase. Of course with the 2021 point charts that isn't the case for my fixed week which has reduced the premium I paid substantially.

That is correct, though Fixed Weeks are 10% more than the cost of the week when the resort opened. Which is how I'm already seeing value: Fixed Week 47 at CCV is 118 points, but if I were to book it next year (2021) it would be 123 to book it. If I cancel the week, I only get back the 118 points I paid. But if I keep it, I do not have to make up the difference, because it's a fixed week.

(That said, Week 48 also costs 118 points as a Fixed Week. But in 2021, that week only costs 110 points if I had booked it normally. I don't get those 8 points back if I use the week - that's the cost of the Fixed Week - but I will have all 118 points if I cancel).

So if one cancels the FW you get the number of points *before* the premium and not the number of points inclusive of the premium?

So if I use the shared chart:
https://www.disboards.com/threads/d...mmer-2020-expanded-list.3805288/post-62052614

That included the premium. How would I know how many points I'd get back if not using the FW?

I'm sorry, I might not have been clear.

The premium cost was 118. But that cost was FIXED when the resort opened, and when it opened the point chart was different (I think it opened 2018?). So, Week 47 - which is Thanksgiving most years - is still 118 to purchase as a fixed week. But if I booked that week in 2021 *normally*, it would cost 123 points because the point chart changed. However, I *never* pay extra, because I purchased a fixed week.

Thus, if I leave the reservation alone / keep my fixed week, I don't pay the difference in point cost between my fixed week cost and the current cost of the week, now or in the future. This does mean if they change the point charge to make Thanksgiving week the cheapest week - say it costs 100 points - I still "pay" 118 points for my fixed week (though I could always cancel, get the 118 points, and then rebook for 100 points).

If I decide to cancel my fixed week, I only get back the number of points that fixed week cost me, ie, 118. So even though in 2021 that total week costs *normally* 123 to book, if I cancel my fixed week, I just get 118 back - the cost of my fixed week.

Does that make sense? I hope I'm explaining it well.

This is something I'm noticing and it's very interesting - FW pricing is currently based on 2020 points charts even though 2021 is out, so depending on your week you could be buying at an immediate nice discount.

I can help here because we own a runDisney FW for Wine and Dine. Our week is week 44, which this year is Sunday, November 1 through Sunday, November 8. The races are November 5 - 8 this year.

The really nice thing about runDisney FWs is they don't operate like a typical FW. For all other FWs, your week is your week - you check in Sunday, you check out the following Sunday. Done. It operates like a typical timeshare week. However, runDisney FWs work differently. They are assigned a traditional FW that corresponds to the usual race weekend (which is why we have week 44), but they flat. MS will call you a week or two before the 11 month window opens and ask which check-in and check-out dates you want. They will ensure your week always encompasses the runDisney event as long as it continues to go on - so if for some reason the race moves to the third weekend in November, they will adjust your week. Also, you don't have to do Sunday through Sunday. We prefer to check out the Monday after the race (so we don't have to travel home the day of the half marathon), so we do Monday through Monday. Or you could even check-in on Thursday expo day and check out the following Thursday.

The one caveat is if the runDisney race is ever cancelled, your week reverts to a traditional FW and you no longer have the flexibility to float the week or days. So for Wine and Dine, that would revert to week 44. For us that was fine because we always go in the fall for Food & Wine anyway.

Also - runDisney FWs are not available at Riviera, only CCV. Our guide told us they simply weren't popular enough to make a part of Riviera, and as far as I'm aware they were not offered for PVB or any other resorts, so they are unique to CCV.
That sounds really interesting! Do you know if you can stick by our "old" week, if the Run Disney weekend will not take place during that week? I guess so, right? (for example you have FW 44 and the Run is in week 45, can you still go week 44?).

Do you mean even if the race is still on but you don't want to go to the race? That I don't actually know. I'm not sure if they'd make you schedule your stay to include race weekend.

I'm confused, how can we get a hold of the sales office, what phone number? When I have tried to call I just get a message that the office is closed. I am not a dvc member but I want to buy a direct contract.
