Before and after photos?Morning, Gents! Well, Monday's come and gone and nothing major happened. A friend at work said he was going to do No Shave November and wanted to know if I'd go along with him. Not sure if it's a thing or not, but I said, "Sure! Now I have to let the wife know I'm planning on transforming into Grizzly Adams by the end of November." Actually, within about 2 weeks I'll have a decent beard, so it'll be interesting to see how I look by the end of November. Came home and told the wife after work and she's totally cool with it...though I suspect she'll not kiss me as much by the end. We'll see. Alright, guys, have a good day and we'll chat throughout.
I'd consider that a win, actually. It's Taco Tuesday but no tacos for us tonight. I've been told we are having pork loin.
Yes. Yes we are.It all depends on how willing and able people are to follow the rules.
Oh crap, we're doomed, aren't we?
I bet she's happy to be teaching from school. She must have more supplies there, too?It affects Julie, too. She'll be moving over to teach from her classroom. So I might be going between the office and home to help juggle kids and their schedules. She's excited about not having to teach from the house, though.
Gotta tell ya... I kinda like the beard on ya.Not planning on doing no shave November, but if I did, it's not pretty...then again nobody ever accused me of being pretty.
Don't let that go to your head, now.
None of that sounds all that wonderful.Bad news is that it seems that I lost the job. So, as the retirement board determines they were a participating agency, they will require the agency to pay into the retirement system for me. However, as I've already retired, I can't get any more money from retirement. And, since the politicians mismanaged the funds so poorly over the previous 2 governors (16 years), the agency would have to pay 70% of my salary into the retirement account, that I would never receive. Hey, I may be good, but I'd have to work a lot of OT to bill that much extra. And, there isn't a signatory or even appeals process in the statement, which probably means I could hire a lawyer to sue based on a due process claim. It's not worth it though.
Any time!!!And thanks for that reminder as well.
Important people who've had stuff named after them say that.Pretty sure that I’ve heard someone - of some level of importance - explain that having things named after you is the only true measure of success.
Perfect! Then that'll put you on the same footing as the people you're voting for!Brilliant!
Well, except for the small inconvenience of it being just slightly illegal.
Other than that though…
Just a smidge. At this point, my young’en’s mode of employment doesn’t include insurance.
That might be a bit of an issue.
50? Congrats! You already don’t matter.
Why don't you just post on here every day with a "I'm still here" post or something? We'll be happy to keep you company. Thanks for the support guys, but I do have a tendency to just shut down as we start rolling into the season. I’ll see what I can do about trying to prevent that.
I'm exhausted just reading that. I'm on FB too, but never interact... and often don't even read the new posts. I just don't have the time nor the desire to get that mired down.Being a Dad is a lot of work. BUT - so is being a DisDad.
I started on the DIS (1), then, I joined FB (2), then, I started running, and found DisDad fitness page (3). THEN, I convinced my wife we should get a small DVC contract. and there's a DisDad DVC fb page (4). THEN, I found out that our dates for January overlap with the DisDad Club Convention 9 dates, and that the convention group has it's on FB page (5), and its own website (6). PLUS - Skype participation and YouTube Rum Rambling discussion. (7).
It's a lot. It's fun, but, it's a lot...
