Evening Magic Hours for Deluxe Guests Only

It's totally a negative. What used to be a perk for every resort guest is now only for high class citizens and the peasants get nothing. Can't wait to see what they do with FP. I'm guessing if you're an All Stars guest just be happy to be on property.
1)Since clearly you read my post, you know what I was referring to which was this :
“Not surprised that Disney is focusing on making more money...again.”.
2) Why are you insisting on making this a class issue?
Both are disingenuous. If you’re so sure of your view, no need for that.

did disney discount those rates at the values when they took those hours away from us? nope.

No. But, you do have a choice to not book until they offer you something you are willing to pay for. Now, if it was available when you booked, and they took it away - that would be different. But, if you are getting exactly what they said when you booked, at a price you agreed to. Then they didn't do anything wrong. And if they later add something, that's gravy.

Disney is a business. Businesses adjust their business model to accommodate changes in the market. You, as the consumer, can choose whether or not to purchase the product. If enough consumers choose not to purchase, then the business model will adjust accordingly. Good 'ol supply and demand.

Why would they discount the rates when they technically did not remove anything? They promised park hours at a certain price, nothing was taken away.
I got what i paid for on my last trip. I'm discussing future trips. This service was offered to us in the past, if they arent in the future, then we'll stay offsite.

I paid less for more in the past, and wont pay more for less going forward. It's really that simple.

so i guess what you're saying is my beef should be with my value hotel who didnt give me a break on the price when they took that offer away and arent giving it back?
In a way, my answer would be yes. Your beef should be with the decision-makers who elected to incentivize deluxe stays with this perk.

The real thumbs down goes to the marketing team that didn't do enough to distinguish this new evening extra hours from the old EMH that was offered to all resort levels. It was a bad PR move because it truly does appear that they took evening EMH away from values and moderates. If they had spun it correctly, even offered it as a low-cost extra exclusive to deluxe resort guests, it might not have such a sour taste.

But this also falls in line with the dialed back versions of *free* dining for value resorts. Disney took away the DDP from value resorts and offered a QSDP instead. It made moderate resorts more attractive to a lot of people...just like it was designed to do.

Just came in to say that this sucks. I’ve stayed at Deluxe Resorts from time to time but this makes me actually less likely to again. Even less likely to stay on property at all. EMH does nothing for me. Just feels dirty.

I understand charging 60K for 20 minutes of an after hours party but it didn’t outright exclude anyone.

Kinda pissed.
This doesn't out right exclude anyone either. Anyone can book at a deluxe resort, the same as anyone can buy tickets to an after hours party

I agree. We have stayed deluxe the last couple of trips, and paid less for more. Magic express, extra hours, it is sad to see these perks lessen. It does feel less magical.

I'm not business expert, but we all know Disney took a huge hit last year, and perhaps filling the more expensive rooms and selling the hard ticket events is how they are hoping to get some of the red ink off their books. And while I may point out I took a huge hit personally, I don't have to find a way to pay thousands of other people.

i get what you're saying, but it doesnt mean i have to be happy with what Disney is doing, and as a long time Disney guests, we wont continue to fork over money to disney with the direction they are taking.

I'm 100% fine with the adjustments made for Covid, i get it, but if some of these stay in place going forward, i'm not ok with that.

Disney has made billions and billions and had record year after record year for the last 20 years. I find it hard to feel sorry for them when they have one bad year. Cut exec compensation and they'll get a lot of red ink off the books.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that people who stay at deluxe resorts for cash and DVC owners will like this. Others will not.

Well I like the idea but I already have a trip planned in December with parkpasses in place. Now if they don't align with the Emus it will be a mad dash to change them when the dates are announced. Heck, with cancel and rebook one could get shut out.
Emu racing? Cool! :rotfl2:

Early Magic Minutes
Maybe Chapek asked what was happening with extra magic hours, someone at the boardroom table said, "emm..." and he ran with it! 😆

Other options that were considered:
umm (ultimate magic minutes)
ehh (extra half hours)
errr (extra ride rollick & romp)

You should make this argument to someone living in Afghanistan or Syria right now. Explain to them how you, a lowly peon, get nothing at Disneyworld.
I don't care how it sounds. Use different words then but with this announcement Chapek has decided there is different tiers of guests. That sound better for you.

Either way the way Chapek's Disney is going in the wrong direction. It says a lot when you see Disney loyalists heading to Universal for a first time.

Could you imagine if they messed up with the announcement.. and meant this to be the free fast pass for deluxe and dvc.. and meant to say emh for all Disney resorts (not Disney springs or good neighbor).. makes more sense if this is the case hah

Don't worry cause that's the next plan.

Are we sure that the good neighbor hotels will be included with 1/2 early in the am? It seems like they should not be included.

For the evening hours does it include all DVC? Including OKW and Saratoga? I guess I thought of them more as Moderate DVC, but I am really not sure how Disney designates them.
