DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

Morning all!

Busy day, chiro this afternoon and getting some stuff ready for next week's camping trip. Not sure if I can fi tit all in.

Have a great Tuesday!

Well, back to it sunshine. Those cones are not gonna put themselves out, are they?
And that shovel hasn't been leaned on for so long it thinks it might actually have to dig something.

He's loaded up and ready to go.

Morning, Fellas. Had a good day, yesterday, hoping for another good one today. See ya!

Thanks. It's really no big deal. I'm happy where I am and can pay all my bills. It's nice to be able to be picky about what promotions I go for.

That's good that you're happy where you are, that does make a difference.

Have a fun one all!

Happy Wednesday. It's been a long week at work as this will be the first 4 consecutive days of work in a couple of months. I'll have 3 days off, 3 days on, and then another weekend.

Youngest dd's team came in 2nd at state tournament in their division. We had the chance to go for the win, but I would have had to sit some of the worse players. I asked them what they wanted to do, but decided to just let everyone play. Oh well, maybe it wasn't the right call.

I enjoyed the Loki series, and I guess it sets up the next big villain. I won't post spoilers in case anyone hasn't seen it yet.

You all have a great week.

Moring, fellas! Weekend is finally upon us! Not sure what 's on the agenda fore the weekend, but I'll figure something out, or the Mrs. will figure something out for me. Well, that's it, have a good day.

TTFN

Welcome back. Hope you had a good vacation.

Well that was...not smart.

Hope your DD does well in the tournament. As to being roped into coaching again, you could always look at it in that you are totally awesome and they wanted you! No, needed you!

I'll admit to not reading the whole article, but I agree in that something has to be done, and I think we have made a lot of changes. So I'd like to think we've pushed that collapse date out a few years, if not decades.

That could be the case in needing to wait or you could wind up paying, so definitely look into it.

I told the realtor her staging was bad and that her initial price point was way too high. I did it nicely, but some people can't handle criticism. So, I think she is now just trying not to sell the house out of spite. Oh well, I knew she was a dud. I've almost decided to just keep the house, rent it, and just buy the new house. I may have to go back to full time at the hospital if I can't get renters, but that's the way it goes. Then, if I decide to sell it 6 months from now with a different realtor, there won't be any issues. On the other hand, I could just not buy the new house, and just keep living here.

Besides, we all know that Disney will ultimately get all the money from us anyway, so I'm pretty sure that we'll be here up to and beyond your contract's expiration date.

That's the thing with all these predictions - like the COVID 2.2 million deaths in USA in a year - the "experts" presume no intervention is even possible. In 20 years, maybe someone will have finally invent the fusion reactor, or better yet, anti-matter warp drive engines.

Or, maybe that's why the rich folks are trying to figure out space travel, so they can get off the earth before the grear collapse. :lmao:

I am not. I do not like waking up at 5am to go to work.

I get up around 5:30 or 5:45 AM and have to be at work at 7 AM.

Mornin', Gents! Back to Monday and another work week. I have a different schedule this week, and looking forward to it. For the last several weeks I've been working in specialty offices, and when you work specialty offices your schedule is 5, 8 hour shifts. Working 5, 8's is nice because I get out at 4pm, so an extra hour to have for the evening. Working in primary offices you work 4, 10's, so long days, but an extra day off somewhere in the week. So for my schedule this week I'll have Thursday off, not bad. Well, Gents, have a good day and we'll chat later.

TTFN

So, what do you like better? I did the five, 8 hour days and hated it. The four, 10 hour days are long but I like them much better. I like my PRN schedule, but I guess that could change.

Hey folks! Hope you had a great weekend.

Nothing major to report here. I didn't get the Assistant Director job, but it may be a blessing anyway. Happy to keep doing what I'm doing.

Sorry you didn't get the A$$ director position. That would have made for a great title/ business card.

Morning, guys! Man was yesterday busy. The back-up person that usually helps me when things get busy was on vacation, so it was just me. While the day went by quickly, I was beat by the end of the of it. Well, let's hope today goes smoother. Have a good day, guys

There are days I go home exhausted. But, the day doesn't drag along, I'm getting paid well, and hope I am helping people.

For what it's worth... I think that was the right call. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. But those players who were thinking they'd be sitting on the bench got to play. And win or lose... it's a team win/loss.

Thanks. Haven't started it yet.

And it just is never any fun, is it.

Not a question.

Mornin' fellas! Made it through hump day, and now we're on the downhill slide to the weekend. Having 4, 10's this week, today was chosen as my day off during the week, but I'm starting it by heading to the dealership to pick my DW and DMiL up. My DW and DMiL are having work done on their Prius's, so I'll pick them up and head home. Once home, my DW will take my car and DD and head off to music and swim lessons. That'll take a good few hours. This means, with no car, I'm stuck at home. With the TV and, well, my chair. I foresee a TV marathon in my future. Or a nap. Or both. :teeth:

Bet that'll feel good having 4 days off. Enjoy.

I couldn't get past the first episode.

I think your best bet is to cut your ties with her, wait and then get a new one. She's apparently a dud, and what makes it worse is she sounds like she cant handle criticism.

So, what do you like better? I did the five, 8 hour days and hated it. The four, 10 hour days are long but I like them much better. I like my PRN schedule, but I guess that could change.

Can't decide. 10 hour days are long, but it's nice to have a day off somewhere in the week, which is today for me. I guess it depends on what schedule I'm on is whether or not I like it. When I'm on 5, 8's, I like that. When I'm on 4, 10's, I like that. I do come home exhausted at times when I do my 4, 10's, but it's a good exhaustion....if that makes sense. I just wish I knew more. There's always something that comes up that I just don't know, and it annoys me. I'll learn.

There are days I go home exhausted. But, the day doesn't drag along, I'm getting paid well, and hope I am helping people.

Exactely! The day doesn't drag. Sometimes the last hour/hour-half can drag a bit when the schedule lightens up at the end of the day, but otherwise a busy day.

I agree with this, team effort. Major kudos.

Morning, boys.
Day 3 of my days off but day 2 of the days I've worked on my days off. After more than a year of zero overtime, people are starting to take vacations again and overtime has started up. Don't mind the extra cash, though.

I've never known a family that owned 2 prius's before. ;)

Afternoon fellas from another scorcher in the mother country. Kids finish for the summer today, so we are rugrat central until September 9. I feel a family meal out tonight on the cards.
Mainly because ya man forgot to book in the delivery slot for the weekly shopping and so our fridge and cupboards look like West Ham's trophy cabinet (I coulda picked a few fights there, but took the moral high ground)
Busy busy on the Bricksburg front, and just got (quietly) upped again.

Why is the moon carrying a camel? And wearing cowboy boots in the desert? And no pants?

Have a good day mes amis

Well, to be a bit more specific, between my wife and DMiL, we have 3, but, and that's a HUGE BUT (insert fat joke here), the second Prius that my DMiL owns is my DW's old one, with over 200k miles on it. And the one my DW owns is my DMiL's old Prius. So, not that exciting....or is it? Hmmmm We kept the old one as a dump run car until we could schedule the work we are doing today. The work we are doing is swapping the screens. My DW's screen went out, burned out(?), and we're swapping screens with the old Prius and then trashing/selling the old Prius.

Pri.

Duh!

Long school year! Here they finish end of June and start beginning of September. Do yours have longer breaks during the school year?
They have one or 2 week breaks throughout the year so every 8 weeks or so they will get a week break and then 2 weeks over Xmas and Easter.
We have to train them up for our socialistic European labour laws that guarantee 30 days paid leave a year 😁
I guess it's why "Camp" is not a thing over here. No 10 week holidays.

Power behind the throne, I like it. Just tell me you weren't at the meeting where they signed off the shape of the rocket.
I like big buts. And I cannot lie.
So thanks for that.

Interesting. So... no summer holidays per se.

You'd have to say "camp"... no capital letter.

Ugh, the Mondayest Thursday ever. Our mail guy is out so Im covering the mail room and still have to finish all my work. And what should be a bright side is Im 16 days from visiting da'World; but saw today they are recomending people not travel to Florida . >:(

Dont over do it. :rotfl:

Here they finish end of June and start beginning of September.
Here they finish late May or early June and go back the end of August. With 2 weeks for Christmas and 1 week for Spring break, which is really just a break so they can come back and spend the last 2 months of school doing the standardized testing and reviewing what they have already done.

Afternoon Dads and a very Happy Friday eve! All good here and kinda under control, as under control as things can be I guess. Stay safe out there

Sounds like you made the correct call there Norm - nice job!

Recommend you not breathe until it's all over.

Wait... there may be a problem with that.

We get 2 weeks at Christmas and 1 for Spring break too. Interesting all the different cycles for the wee ones.
