Uhm....Bahamas is now requiring vaccinations for all passengers over 12..

It is connected though as they have to require vaccination now it would seem.

Not sure they need to join the lawsuit though and can't just simply act in accordance to the ruling so far.
My understanding was that the ruling was limited to NCL. Now it certainly sets precedent and would make it easier to get a similar ruling, but they can't simply point to the NCL ruling and say "we're doing what they're doing."

I don't think they'll actually uncancel...but with the way things have been going...anything could happen!! haha!

Well you have my hopes up haha. I will take on the challenge of DCL reversing my changes lol. I would prefer the 7 night vs the 4+3. We did agree though the 4 days at Castaway did have the benefit of cell service so we are easier to reach for the grandparents watching the kids.

Game changer for sure! I’m all for fully vaxxed cruises too for those who are eligible- but what limbo for those sailing mid September - late October until they know how this will play out. Disney/Florida/Bahama drama indeed.
If Disney can get their announcement out, an unvaccinated passenger could still be vaccinated with Pfizer by the time this takes effect. It is nice that the Bahamas pushed out the start of this almost 6 weeks. (EDITED - This is completely wrong, bad math on my part. I was thinking of the resumption of 7 day sailings, which is in Oct.)

Could they? We are like a couple weeks out?

Do you mean J&J?

I saw a start date of September 3rd. That's just 2 weeks.

Just read on my FB group for the sailing tomorrow on the dream that lightning struck the cell tower on castaway cay a few days ago. No cell service. Doesn’t matter to us, our kids are grown. But if your cruise is close, you may not have cell service

I think that is the point. They are either going to have to check/require vaccine for 12+ or stop sailing. If they prevent passengers from travelling if unvaccinated, they run afoul of Florida law, unless they can tag along on NCL's suit/injunction.
I guess I don't understand Florida's restriction on proving vaccinations. Cruise lines for years have had to require vaccinations for certain destinations. Yes, that usually didn't apply to Florida, but nonetheless, still a requirement.

I was thinking Florida was saying that a cruise line cannot require vaccination proof just to get on the ship. As opposed to requiring a vaccination so the ship can actually port at a given country that would require a vaccination.

Jeeze we are not until Sept 13/17 so will have to wait to see closer.

I wonder if... some people in the cruise industry, in their meetings with the Bahamian officials, made some comments 'hey, you know what could really help us out getting cruising up to speed again... having a mandate from you that our customers that can be vaccinated need to be vaccinated in order to visit your ports. Wink, wink, nudge, nudge...' And then the cruise companies can tell the Florida Guv, 'sorry, we had too. we only collected the information for the ports.'

Their law is broad and more so want meant to avoid any business in the state from requiring it. So that you wouldn't have a restaurant in Tampa or clothing store in Sarasota requiring it or possibly a full city requiring it in Key West.
