The attraction you used to love, but is now just eh.

Soarin’ around the world wasn’t an improvement. You shouldn’t have to sit in particular seats to experience it properly.

I 100% agree with this. Soarin’ used to be hands down my favourite attraction at wdw. But the cgi graphics and enhancements used for Soarin’ Around the World give me horrific motion sickness and I now can’t ride it without feeling sick :(

Really . .anything if you go on it enough. The "mystery" is gone . .the "awe" is no longer there.

What helps is going with NEW people and just enjoying them enjoying the ride for the first time. I remember going on Dinosaur with my wife and PURPOSELY putting her on the outside. LOL. That made that ride more exciting for me that time!

But for me, it was Backlot Tour. The "Making of Movies" concept was great at MGM Studios the FIRST time through, but then a lot of those attractions were "been there, done that." As an attraction that is meant to just educate you on some movie making tricks (and not thrill you or tell a story) - it just is sorta pointless after the first time.
But that first time was pretty darn cool!

Ugh, really did not like the changes they made to Spaceship Earth when they brought it back in 2007. Cringeworthy dialogue, and that joke of an ending...

That is Dame Judy Dench you are blaspheming!

Just kidding with you, of course, but she really is my favorite from so many things that my wife chuckles at me for my crush on a woman 35 years older than me. I guess I’m not an objective judge of this ride anymore :)

Forgot about this one, but not bad enough that I won't go on again. My son was simply amazed at the "flying" aspect of it and can't wait to go on again.

I still don't understand how the new movie got past QA in Imagineering. Didn't anyone notice that the movie was just worse visually? Is it that expensive to NOT have to CGI all that junk in there? The CGI just ruins it for me .. it is pretty obvious where it is at.

This works well with watching old favorite films, too, with folks (kids?) who have never seen them before.
I certainly know The Wizard of Oz, virtually word-for-word,
but getting to show it to kids in our family for the first time makes it exciting for ME, once more.

I particularly like to show someone who has never seen it (not kids, in this case) the Bruce Willis film, The Sixth Sense.
(The last 10 minutes gets 'em every time!)

This was me when I introduced the Rocky films to my kids- crazy how 40 years later they love them just as much as I did! Even crazier that we’re all super excited about Creed2 this winter- who would’ve thought 40+ years later families would be watching a brand new Rocky movie together!!

Jungle Cruise is 100% about the skipper.
A skipper who just parrots the script (which is exactly what the job "calls for") usually means a boat ride past some crude mechanical animals.
(And, I know -sadly- THAT is the experience of so many guests who have ridden this
venerable attraction.)

OTOH, a great skipper is one who offers a magnetic personality and unique takes on the script, and that equals an unforgettable ride.

We ride more than once while in MK in hopes of having the luck of finding the latter.
Some trips (even after literally dozens rides down those waterways) have been magic.

Completely agree. The skipper makes the ride. We have had awesome ones that really put their personality into the script and have fun with it and the ride is incredible.
A not so good skipper and the ride is ho hum.

I saw this tee-shirt in Disneyland last month:

This shirt is amazing!! I might need it for my next trip :P. I don't really understand how that scene passed. I understand it's a limitation with the screen, but then don't put anything that skinny and straight in the film.

My son was seven on our most recent trip in November; he's been spoiled by having been to WDW and DL seven times in his life.

IASW was one of our first rides on that trip and when we pulled in to the dock to unload he said, "You know, that was....okay." And it was the first-ever glimpse of him finding something at Disney World not completely amazing. Sigh. Stay away, you cynical teen years!!

Friends of mine took their just turned 7 year old to DL in June. It was her first trip to any Disney park and IASW was her favorite, they had to ride it twice. On the first ride she looked around in amazement, sighed, and said, "I think God made this".

That is too adorable.

As an adult who's been to WDW and Disneyland countless times, it's difficult to get hyped up or excited about any one particular ride or attraction. However, as an adult with kids, and being able to be right there with them as they experience everything for the first or second time - that is where the experience pays off for me. Personally, I'm just glad I'm on vacation and not at work.

The ones that stand out for me are mostly shows. Disney really knows how to make a great show, but when it’s exactly the same every visit it loses it’s impact. The thrill rides hold their value for me because they are still physically thrilling each time.

Magic Kingdom:

Monsters Inc – The first few times it’s fun but the show is so formulaic that it’s now pretty boring. This year (10 night stay) was the first time we didn’t go the attraction at all.

Haunted Mansion – This ride makes me more tired than interested anymore

Epcot:

None really. I would say Illuminations, that doesn't fit because I NEVER liked it. :)

Hollywood Studios:

Fantasmic! – This is a surprise even to me, but it’s true. I was amazed by this show the first few years. Now it’s just too much repeat and too much time to see. We skipped it this year.

Beauty and the Beast - We skipped it this year.

Indiana Jones - We skipped it this year.

Animal Kingdom:

Finding Nemo – LOVED this show for many visits and while it’s not a bore I’ve lost my desire to go.

Tough to be a bug - We skipped it this year.

This, 5X.

Seeing it with new people is more fun, seeing it through your kids eyes is everything! On our most recent trip, I think the only thing we rode 2x was Barnstormer, all 5 seconds of it. And my DW and I didn't blink an eye when the request was made, because our DD4 loved it. She also wanted to ride HM again, but the FP+ line was ridiculous and we needed to head out.

Journey into Imagination... I loved, loved, LOVED figment when I was a kid (we went to Epcot 2 weeks after it opened). Now, not so much.

I really hope I can keep my love for Soarin. It is my favorite ride. I have only ridden it once since it changed, and I remember enjoying it, but missing the old version (love the ocean smell, the pine trees, the oranges!!) I'll be there again in 40 days and hope that Soarin is still going to be in my top favorites. I have a feeling that FoP will be my new favorite though!

Soarin' for two reasons, 1. The CA version was a million times better, 2. FOP blows Soarin' out of the water, either version. I would wait two hours for FOP if need be, will only go on Soarin with a FP (which are very easy to get) and even that can be a long wait.
