We lucked out and got seats on a whim one trip. We were standing, but the seats were empty and the cast members let us fill in the seats right before the show. I am not a very religious person and I found the entire CP to be incredibly moving. I really loved it. One of my most favorite memories at the parks!Run down on CP- I've googled it, but would love the low down from DISers- try to check it out, avoid it ? Best viewing areas? Can someone give me the Cole's notes?
On the website, it shows Christmas day brunch from 7-1:30 and dinner from 2-10.So dining opened up on Christmas Day. I booked a 2:05 time at Storytellers... usually brunch ends at 2. Do you think they’ve extended it for Christmas? We only want to go if the characters will be there. Any thoughts???? Should I just call and ask???? I also booked a dinner at Goofy’s Kitchen just to be sure until I figure this out!

See the quote below (#85 from this superthread). Click on the link for a great trip report on last year's CP. Don't forget to cruise through this superthread for information -- that's why it's here: so that you can find what you need in one place!Run down on CP- I've googled it, but would love the low down from DISers- try to check it out, avoid it ? This report about last year's CP give lots of information: Candlelight Processional with Chris Pratt - photos and audio Saturday 5:30 showing.
The general crowds are not allowed any further back than just in front of the Emporium and Disney Showcase. Even being back at Carnation Cafe would be too far back on Main Street.
FYI: For those interested in seeing CP, some instagrammers are saying that the choirs start at IASW. This hasn't happened in several years, at least. They now start on Main Street, by the Hub, by the camera shop. If you camp out by IASW waiting to see the choirs, you'll miss them. I'll double check with my choir friends to see where they'll be starting from this year.
... Now that I know that the Christmas special is being filmed on Wednesday, should we stay away and go Thursday? Or is it neat to be able to see all the filming? From what I remember reading here, it sounds like a huge pain with crowds and things being blocked off, but I wanted to check.
This year, the filming permits have been filed for the areas around IASW and SWGE -- so those areas might be closed off for a while on the 13th or at least will be more congested with filming equipment being set up. Usually Town Square and the area around SBC are set up for filming, too. I don't know of any rides that are traditionally shut down for the parade filming, but if something is planned, it should be announced or there will be signs in the parks. Some people don't like the hassle and stay away on filming days. Others like to see the celebrities and the performances. See this thread for an example: Christmas Day Parade - We Made It On!.Trying to decide on our off day, and see the parade is scheduled for Wednesday the 13th. This was originally going to be a day in the parks, but now I’m wondering if we should make it our off day. Is the park more crowded on filming day? Are any attractions or experiences closed down? Would love insight, especially if you’ve been during parade filming. Thanks so much!

Thank you for this information. Love the video. I am a little confused about how the holiday filming works. Obviously they film the parade and it is reported that filming will be on the 13th. However the parade is not listed on either the 13th or 14th of November. Will they put the parade back on the schedule those days but perhaps at a different time?
