That's because Disney made the ride, and they are responsible for its operation. It is not the same thing at all, and actually shows that DIsney goes above and beyond when it comes to safety.

The reason Disney is beloved world-wide is because the movie experience, the theme park experience, and the resort experience are all man-made and designed for us. Splash Mountain and Beach Movie Night are the exact same thing because Disney makes no distinction and it's guests make no distinction.

It shows they were appropriate when it comes to safety at the rides. Contrast with how they treated the beach. The inconsistency is an obvious problem for them legally.

I'm a little confused - what is it that people want WDW to do about alligators today/at this point in time?
Are you wanting/expecting Disney to make their property alligator free? If not, what could Disney do to make you feel safe from alligators on property?

He didn't kick over a sandcastle and splash the water. He waded a foot -- or two -- into the water. The parents were not at his side -- which would have likely prevented the attack. The boy could have charged forward at any moment, and fallen, and drowned. He could have been bitten by a snake.

Are you this outraged by the shootings in Orlando? Because that's a much bigger threat at WDW. Do you need a special sign for that?

Read the quotes I, and others, posted earlier in the thread from eye-witnesses who said the boy was on the edge of the water, playing with the other kids, kicking over their sand castles. Straying 12" away from standing sand castles into a puddle shouldn't be a death sentence.

Regarding the tragic shootings in Orlando, if this were a club known to entice suicidal racist murderers it's a very different kind of tragedy. And that's what's going on at Disney. They knew of the threat. They didn't tell anyone. They broke our trust. Only the death of a precious 2 year old innocent got them to do the right thing. Start soul-searching around that. Start thinking about that. Inches of water isn't the issue here. The issue is that the 2 year old never should have been anywhere near that beach at 9:30 at night. Any parent in Florida knows this. So why didn't a Florida parent in a Disney uniform tell us?

My take is they are furious their little fantasy bubble is broken. Somehow it's become all about them, not the child who died, it what was a tragic accident. Disney already has the signs up. But they want a guarantee that no one can give them.
