April 6th dcl announcement

So far I am seeing the Glaveston cruises starting in Sept, but can only see Fantasy Western cruises until August. Will Fantasy cruise elsewhere in the Fall?

You can book Sept-Dec on the Fantasy now, but you have to call. Don't know why it was set up this way. We booked the Dec 15, 2012 Eastern by phone about a month ago. Goes to San Juan.

The rest of 2012 for the Fantasy has been open for booking since early February, but only via phone calls! Nothing was ever announced and nothing was ever posted on their website for this! We booked our Fantasy Thanksgiving trip on 2/17/11 through our travel agent, who had given us a heads-up email that the dates were opening for booking.

I wish they would announce pricing and deposit amounts today. I think that would sure help out with people making their decisions today and not flooding their phone systems tomorrow just to find out that it is too expensive or don't like the deposit requirements.

So if this was the big news for today. What is the rumor for 4/8/11? Maybe the September / Hawaii or could it be a new park :rotfl2:

Still no info on pricing or deposits etc etc etc - you would think this would be kind of important about now. Especially if they are non refundable deposits.

Exactly!!

I found the info for the repositioning LA to Seattle on the DCL site.

They are under the Alaska and Pacific tabs.

LA to Vancouver 7 night May 13 with stops in San Francisco and Victoria. Then Vancouver to Seattle 8 night May 20 which includes the Alaskan itiniary.

Reversed in the fall to return to LA.

Really wish they would have posted the prices somewhere for NYC to Bahamas for May/June '12.

I'd be interested in this itinerary, but the costs will decide it all.

I need a quad and to pay $1200.00 pp is a bit crazy out of NY.. guess I'll have to wait till Friday to see.

Totally excited about this! Can't wait especially since I live in the area!!

Woo Hoo!!

Just hate waiting a few more days to get the rates!

i see this:
You can begin booking the new itineraries April 8, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. EDT. Just call one of our Vacation Specialists at (800) 951-3532 or ask your travel agent.

Does this mean you have to CALL and cannot book online??:confused3

With all of the posting activity today, you probably missed my reply to your original post about this (Post 586 on page 40).

Just in case, here it is again with respect to the cost being $1,200 per person from New York for 8 nights:

Keep in mind that the 3rd and 4th passengers are discounted. My guess is that the 3rd and 4th passengers would be about $650 each so a family of four would be about $3,700.

Also, have you seen the 5-night prices on the Dream in June 2012 recently (Nassau and Double Dip at CC)? A 5-night Bahamas for a family of four leaving on June 1, 2012, leaving from Port Canaveral is $3,934.68 in an 11A cabin. And that's the least expensive cruise right now for all June for a family of 4 on the Dream!

If you book the New York itinerary early, you get 3 extra nights and for many, no extra airfare for less than a shorter cruise on the Dream. The prices seem about right compared to the Dream & Fantasy. However, if you compare to other cruise lines, it is more expensive right now. Most people who cruise Disney don't seem that concerned about prices of other cruise lines. Granted, many are but if most were concerned about prices of other cruiselines, Disney's prices would be a lot lower.

This is when a TA comes so in handy -- let their fingers do the dialing and the 2-3 hour holds ;) :surfweb:

BTW -- tomorrow morning gold and platinum can book. Still going to be a long wait since most of the cruise population are repeaters.

I saw a post somewhere with Christmas dates out of Galveston-can we book that tomorrow? Huge decision if so-4 hours to Galveston or 14 to Port Canaveral for San Juan....:confused3

Actually if you compare the DCL price to the NCL 7 night out of NY ( less favourable itinerary ) for August 2012, an inside cabin for 4 ( 2A / 2K ) comes to $3,096 before taxes. When you extrapolate that cost to 8 nights vs 7, the cost comes to $3,538. Yet, the NCL cruise does not include the 1 day park hopper and transfers per passenger.
Therefore, the DCL price is actually a pretty good deal !
Darnit, I`m booked on the Fantasy in August 2012...decisions...decisions !!:rolleyes1

Thanks! I should have known better than to be lulled into the fallacy that DCL is always more expensive. I know that as our June 2012 Fantasy Cruise is less than any other cruise line that offers the exact itinerary during the month we want to cruise.

I just got this "sale" from Celebrity cruises-Skip the long flight over the Pacific and sail roundtrip from San Diego for US$1299 per person. This includes meals, accommodations and entertainment on the ship.
Depart Oct. 2 with stops in Hilo, Maui, Honolulu, the lush garden island of Kauai and Ensenada (Mexico). Depart Oct. 17, April 5 or 20 with stops in Hilo (including an evening sailing past Mount Kilauea), Kona, Honolulu, Maui and Ensenada.

Curious to see how this compares.

Very interesting. I checked Holland America yesterday and an oceanview started at 2300pp pretty much over the same dates as DCL.
