Okay, I have to catch up on the weekend's food.

Saturday:
B: 3 1/2 small walnut pancakes; 3 pieces turkey sausage; maple syrup; coffee
D: margarita pizza; sweet potato fries
Dessert: skinny cow ice cream cup

Sunday (this is where it got really ugly)
B: coffee; honey graham cereal (dry)
L: movie popcorn; pretzel M&Ms; turkey hot dog
D: grilled chicken; corn on the cob; turkey Italian sausage; turkey burger w/FF cheese on sandwich thin; grilled carrots; WW oriental green beans
Dessert: Skinny cow ice cream cup

Monday (and it got even worse)
B: panera bagel w/RF hazelnut cream cheese; coffee w/skim milk
L: WW oriental green beans; grilled carrots; 100 calorie party mix pack
S: sour cream & onion chips; pretzels; corn on the cob; watermelon
D: grilled chicken; 2 small slices london broil; baked beans; turkey hot dog; corn on the cob


Yes, the whole weekend was a food fest. Ugly. Just plain ugly.

Back on track today.

B: coffee w/skim milk
L: green salad w/grilled chicken
D: turkey hot dog; 2 slices london broil; WW zero point soup; rice pilaf w/corn added
dessert: pretzels; devil dog; sugar free jello w/whipped cream

ETA: my best intentions of getting back on track went right out the window when I got too busy at work for my scheduled food, had an unexpected partners' meeting that got me home late to prepare for physical therapy, and arrived home from PT very hungry and eating everything in sight. So, another day bites the dust.
 
No worries on the food, my friend. :hug: It was a holiday weekend! ::yes:: Just focus on one meal at a time today and do the best you can do. I know you CAN do it, Cam!:cheer2:

Thanks for asking, Tracy! :hug: It's been pretty painful since Sunday and I can't figure out why it's suddenly harder to extend it. I am hoping PT in the pool tonight will help. I have a dr. appointment tomorrow. I thought maybe he'd take me out of the brace, but the PT thinks I'll be in the brace for "quite some time". Hmmm... that was so not my impression. I guess I'll find out soon enough.
 


Cam, if I had enough time and computer memory, I'd post my food over the last few days and you'd feel so much better about your weekend! Three day weekends are seldom easy to get through. Good job getting right back on track today!

So sorry your leg has been hurting, I hope it got better as the day wore on. Good luck at the dr. tomorrow!:goodvibes:hug:
 
Cam good luck at your Dr. appt today- is the pain cause from some swelling that wasn't there before? Water retention maybe from different foods over the weekend can affect that too.

I bet you are anxious to get that brace off in this heat- even in air condioning it must be uncomfortable.Yesterday it was so hot my car AC at 60 felt like it was blowing warm air.Still better than snow!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh wow college. That has to be a bittersweet time.

I can't believe we'll visit campuses this fall, Melissa. He is turning 17 next week :scared1: and yet I remember when he was born like it was yesterday. :cloud9:

Linda -- You know, I hadn't even thought of that, but you could be right. It gets very swollen and becomes more painful if I am on it a lot and even after physical therapy in the very warm pool. So, it could have been the higher sodium levels and the swelling. :thumbsup2

So, I edited my food post from yesterday. My good intentions went right down the drain because of circumstances beyond my control and then letting those circumstances dictate my food choices. UGH! I am promising myself to do better today.

B: coffee w/skim milk; light yogurt w/sliced almonds
L: green salad w/grilled chicken
S: WW wheat crisps w/laughing cow cheese wedge
D: corn on cob; green beans; grilled carrots; grilled chicken
S: turkey burger w/FF cheese on sandwich thin

Well, that looks like a lot of food, but the chicken was small pieces and 99% FF, so the points were low and I ended up below my daily points allowance. It is pretty obvious to me that I am eating too many of my points in the second half of the day. I'll have to figure out whether to try to change that.

Praying the leg pain is a fluke & starts feeling permanently better!

Don't worry about the food. You have such willpower that I'm sure you will be back on track in no time.

Saw the orthopedic specialist yesterday and I'm still on crutches and in the brace, though the brace can now be set for 0--90 degree range of motion. I can also start PT on "land" instead of only in the pool. My formerly very pronounced and strong quad isn't "firing" right, so my running days are further off than I'd like to think. :sad1: But, I am going to start trying to do more and see where that gets me. I'm not supposed to push it so much that my knee swells up but I am allowed to try to do whatever I can stand, pain-wise.

Well, I'm swamped at work, but I wanted to journal that despite the ridiculously complicated planning it required and the logistical nightmare of getting there and in the building and then through the shower, etc. afterwards, I did, in fact, go to the gym today to do a 20-30 minute uppper body workout. Tonight is water PT, so that will be the most exercise I've had in more than 6 1/2 weeks. :dance3: I am dying for the chance to do some cardio and may even try to ride a recumbent bike at the gym in the next week or so.

Maybe if I shake up my routine a bit my body will give up a pound or two. LOL!

Cam, that is great news you made it to the gym! That is a serious amount of determination, you go girl!!:cheer2:

You'll be running probably quicker than that doctor thinks given your will and drive!

Hi Cam - so sorry to hear your leg is still causing you pain - but wow well done for going to the gym :) i am more than impressed by your determination!
 
I have been doing so lousy, and of course, as a result, not posting. I am really working on being much better this week. All of these weekends away (looking at campuses last weekend and the next 2) and houseguests and parties have derailed my efforts, but am working on making better choices.

Today's food:
B: reduced sugar oatmeal; coffee
S: fruit crisps
L: steamed veggies; LC chicken in peanut sauce
S: lite popcorn (mini bag)
S: pretzels
D: chicken, brown rice & corn w/soy sauce
dessert: low fat waffles w/WW cookies & cream ice cream bar in between (LOL!)
 
Hang in there, Cam! I've been a bottmless pit lately myself. :sad2:

Road trips kill me!!! Hope you can fidn some good choices this weekend!
