Aw, man! Kids have a late spring break (Apr 22-26) and I was hoping we could hop down and catch F&W. We were there earlier last year and it was so fun!

Very excited to visit for Food & Wine again! We will be there on April 12, 13, and 14th. Also excited for Hyperspace Mountain and Season of the Force at the same time. And Soarin over California (the best version of Soarin!)

We'll be there for it this year but I'm not even sure what it is lol. Are there extra food booths at DCA or something like that?

Yep! Similar to Festival of the Holidays and Lunar New Year, there are food booths around DCA with specialty food items and special beverages. They also do special wine tastings/classes with winemakers and experts, that you have to sign up for ahead of time. And, perhaps best of all, Soarin' reverts back to the original California version during F&W!

That sounds great! I love the original Soarin :)

How busy is the first day of this, typically? When do the booths typically open?
If I recall correctly, the booths open around 10 or 10:30 - just before park hoppers swarm in.

It is more crowded the first couple of days because bloggers want to get their pics and write their reviews.

For those that frequent the festival and go to the paid events, is it common for Kurt Russell to do a presentation/event for Gogi Wines? DH is a huge Kurt Russell fan and I think it would be an amazing experience for him. I wasn't sure if last year was just a special/rare thing.

There is usually a rep from GoGi Wines that will do a tasting/seminar every year. As far as I recall, last year was the first time Kurt Russell hosted a dinner. But the lineup should be announced in January.

Kurt Russell has been at the Food & Wine Festival on a few occasions. If GoGi is on the event list, it's his sister Jamie that presents at the wine tastings at Sonoma Terrace. She's just delightful!

Doesn't look like GoGi is on the winemaker reception list this year.
Pro tip: The ticketed events are live on the 3rd party website. https://www.showclix.com/events/28136

Thanks for the tip!! I'll add the schedule to the first post.

Oooh, thank you for posting this! Now I get to decide what I want to do on our trip and how I'm going to bribe a friend to watch my kid while I do it. 😂
