I called it on groupme. Sorry, didn't do it here. Yesterday was just s touch busy....Can't believe he hasn't called it already. I understood with the power of being the Easternmost Disdad came great responsibility.
Thanks @pkondz, darn! I totally missed wishing him a bon voyage. Crap.
@docsoliday, when you see this, hope you had a good move.

Working on it. Must get schnitzel first. At a place now that got my beer quick, but taking forever to order food. Maybe it's a ploy to get me to drink more beer. Like they NEED a ploy???Morning All.
Have you taken over Germany yet Doc?
Sounded like it!Yesterday was just s touch busy....
QUACK!
First weekend in country, so I intend to.
One must.Must get schnitzel first.

Me too!!!Glad you made it over the pond okay
Exactly.One must.
Shocked you haven't had one yet.Next is an authentic bratwurst.
Most of the places here have currywurstShocked you haven't had one yet.
How's the jet lag?
Really! Huh. I don't think I even saw that once last I was there (2004?)Most of the places here have currywurst
I just took.one.of the closer places I *thought* was authentic German food. Turned out to be a burger joint.
True... not often you see a burger joint (here) labeled "USA restaurant".They had burgers, pizza, doner kababs(had to look up and evidently quite popular here), Chinese, Mediterranean, Irish pubs, but very few what I could consider German. I guess, considering, I'm in Germany, they don't label them as German restaurants.
Ugh... they should change that so it's downhill both directions. Not sure if I already posted here, but mostly uphill on the way back to the hotel and had a quite chilly headwind, so the walk back was slow and not the highlight of the day.
Huh! That's how my dad learned (sort of), but in reverse. He came here only able to speak German and learned English by going to the movies.Have the sports network in in the background and every once in a while, hear a word I didn't already know, but could figure out based on context, so also learning while doing the not so fun stuff.
You need to figure out the excellent public transit, there. Will venture out later for dinner....probably the burger place again since it's more a 5 minute walk vs. a 45-60 minute walk
Just tried it at the hotel...Really! Huh. I don't think I even saw that once last I was there (2004?)
True story.True... not often you see a burger joint (here) labeled "USA restaurant".
Yeah, I know, but should have a rental car tomorrow, so wasn't worth the effort when I wouldn't need soon. I will figure out the trains though. Planning a trip to Hamburg soon to check out minatur wunderland and maritime museum. You need to figure out the excellent public transit, there
It was good.It was good to have Doc join us on Zoom last night (this morning). The biggest takeaway was that Doc does know and eat real gravy. Good times.
Most of the places here have currywurst
Will try one, but not a big curry fan, so jury's still out as to whether I'll like it.
