DDC XXXIV: The Original Home Of The DISDads!!!

I've got a good feeling about Nagy. He seems like a winner. All we need now are new owners.
Amen to the new owners statement.
Evening boys from a -2 London. Fast Pass day tomorrow, for the cheeky bit on the end of Lady K's birthday extravaganza.
Still confused about the Annual Pass thing, and picking it up and making it all work so I might have a bit of a research dig around here.
We do APs so feel free to to ask any questions here or via messenger - just keep the time difference in mind :-)

I think it might be more to do with me being a Brit than anything mate.
We ordered the Platinum APs on the DVC discount, as we are coming over twice this year, and it was an absolute no brainer on the cost, by over $1000. I know I have to pick them up at Guest services, but do you not have the option to personalise them? Therefore, if I get there on the Monday from Lady K's extravaganza, am I just going to get dull boring grey ones? And what happens to the ones at the resort? Or do I pick up the ones at the resort and they link the AP to those?

You should be able to order your magic bands via mydisneyexperience and then link the APs to that. If nothing else, order the magic bands and then when you pick up the APs at guest services, they can link them to the magic bands. I presume if you had to pick up the magic bands there, they have all the colors available.

You could always contact DVC member services (online or phone) and ask them as well...they will help you.

You can have both bands, Resort and ap, they both will work as long as you have them linked to your account.
When you go to guest services, they want to see your id and dvc card. They link your passes to your account. We always ask for the cards. Proof you are a pass holder when you purchase things at stores.

Thanks chaps, good info. We wanted to go to Disney Springs first on the way through from Jekyll to do it at Guest Services there, so that was the slight kicker, as we obviously don;t get our resort bands shipped to us, they will be at the Poly desk.

FP all done, got everything we wanted at the time we wanted it....there was a surprising selection of Flights of passage, so I've booked it for the first night and we may have dinner in AK. We've only seen Pandora/AK during the day, but looking forward to seeing it of a night. Until SWMBO gets wind of it and we change everything. Obviously.

Morning Guys.

Yesterday's storm ended over night but the powers that be decided that today would be a snow day. Not sure why, the drive to the office was a typical winter drive and the sun is shinning nice and bright.

Trip is one day closer as is spring training and March Madness. Great time of the year!

Stick to your guns and tell her you made the decisions that needed to be made.

Even better mate, I'll tell her you said it.

::yes:: I'm in NC for the final four weekend, so that should be fun, especially if they have a team in. I'm trying to find a good bar to watch the finals.

Morning guys. The Pirate Princess had to do a training for a new group of interns and since it was at the main campus which is near the house, she and the mutt slept over. Spent the night watching Amazing Race where they were in Africa so she was in heaven.

The Winter Olympics have started! I love the spectacle, the stories, tough competition... Will be watching the idiot box the next couple of weeks. Currently ski jumping is on (Eddie the Eagle rides again). Even in my younger days when I wasn't worried about breaking every bone in my body, there is no way in He11 I would have thought about doing that. Bobsled and luge are a different story. Still would try those.

Well done sir. I'm more than a little jealous of all you guys with upcoming trips.

Better check your reflexes first so you can dodge the cast iron pan headed toward your head.

This year we get a women's bobsleigh team from Nigeria and the Tongo, oiled-up flag bearer from Rio has taken up cross-country skiing and will compete in that event.

If there are any dads that know photography and particularly DSLR cameras, I've been thinking about getting one for years, but I know almost nothing other than they take really good pictures, but are not simply point and shoot. Considering I've had problems with my point & shoot and auto focus not working the way I want, that's part of the reason I want to go this route.

I don't know which accessories or lenses are most likely to be needed/used/beneficial. I know I can get SD cards pretty cheap at BJs (like Sams club or Cosco). So, the question I have for y'all is which of these is the better deal for the price and accessories?

Edit: Having to fix the spelling tells you I'm not at all educated on these. DSLR not DLSR. :sad2:

Alright fellas, that's it. I'm calling it. Work week over. Everyone out. Last one left in Katsura Grill (its the closest I can get to South Korea) for Olympics Beer Session gets to take Lyndsey Vonn home. And, let me tell ya, she has a lovely set of globes. And she goes down faster than everyone.

Off for old college mates beers tonight, so tomorrow morning could be a bit dicey.

Have a great Friday chaps.

Morning Guys,

just watched parts of the Olympic opening ceremonies. The opening was pretty cool and the lighting of the Olympic flame was unique. I missed every think in the middle.

Regionals begin tonight for DS, first game at 6 with the loser being done for the season.

I am waiting for the Rebel T7i to arrive. I've had a Rebel XS for a few years and it was pretty easy to use. I didn't use a lot of accessories just a 18-80 lens and a 70-300 lens. The second lens didn't have image stabilisation but I made do. Looking forward to the new camera.

Woohoo I just got to work and Dan says I can go home. Did Tiger tell you all about Lindsey?
