DVC PERKS - That people want

But when you make that phone call, you could find that rooms are already taken by people who checked in a few days before you. For popular times, it could very easily happen.

That's easy, just schedule a 2 week vacation and cancel the first week later. Or would that not be fair?;)

BTW, who are you stick-in-the-muds scolding anyway? This is a wish thread!! Dreaming isn't demanding. No scolding needed here. Lighten up and have some fun. Pretend you're a kid for a second.:cool1:

:cool1: I would like it if all DVC members were escorted down Main Street by Mickey whenever they visited MK. :lmao: I'd like a DVC lounge in the MK.

Nothing wrong with wishing.

I agree, the ticket prices will probably keep us out of the parks some years. We'll go to HH to save on ticket prices and get more of a "pre paid" vacation. There, we'll probably just have to pay for dinners out and the occasional paid activity.
If we could get discounts on 10 day non expires, we would go more often. We don't spend every day in the parks, so APs don't save us much.

Same with me, we don't spend our time in the parks... I would like to see some % discount on MYW passes...

Other than that, there is never a guarantee for anything so I'm grateful we get what we get!

I saw one really great suggestion.....The AP discount be a percentage rather than a flat $100. That would keep the 'value' of the perk constant.

Other than the AP discount, there are no perks necessary for me.

I would like to be able to purchase DDE without an AP too. We visit enough that we don't always enter parks each day but we still eat (a lot!!).

If they want to limit the park discounts, maybe only offer a discount on a 10day non-expiring pass.

I love both suggestions:thumbsup2

I would like ticket discounts. We are bringing 10 family members with us in Jan and it is going to cost a fortune for tickets. I purposely planned a couple of days at Vero Beach so that I could cut down on the number of days that we would be in the parks. Not that going to Vero in a Beach Cottage is a sacrifice :)

4. More DVC clothing, not the resort specific stuff we typically see.

5. The ability to order DVC merchandise on-line.

OT sorry, but I would like to know how to get DVC merchandise period. I asked once before when we first became members, and the response that I got was eBay.

Is it sold at the resorts? I had wanted to get DH a DVC hat before our trip, but guess he will have to wait.

Sorry again for the OT.

A special 20 or 32 oz stainless steel lined refillable mug. Good at any DVC location for the lifetime of the promotion or the end of your membership which ever comes first. The mug wouldn't be cheap but

Special seating areas were a great idea. If they aren't in use by another branch of Disney why not open it up to DVC members one or two days per week during regular season (bad idea to do it in high seasons and unnecessary in low). Examples...special viewing locations in the parks for the big closing shows or the parades.

Only at OKW for DVC member and not resort specific items as far as I know.

I'm pretty sure there was a small section at the Beach Club Marketplace that had DVC logo items (shirts, hats, mugs I think). I didn't buy any so I don't know if you had to show your member ID to purchase them... :)

I couldn't agree more. I would love to have a wider variety of DVC clothing, I would buy a new top every visit but they don't change the style often enough. And a greater variety of mugs and glassware. I can't pass up a new mug :surfweb:

Using points for airfare and park passes, and allowing discounts for park passes for the people you are bringing along.

It seems like using points for park passes would free up points for additional maintenance and would allow CRO to rent more points as well.

well, let's see, nothing too major................

- DDP discounts, get us out of cooking in our room and eating out a lot more, maybe even buying into the deluxe plan instead, of course the discount on that plan too
- MYW discounts for members and immeadiate family only for those who can't go but once a year and would like to visit the parks every day.
- free interenet access

Sorry, can't think of anything else!

If a DL DVC is in the works, i'd think they should offer "exchange" AP passes to members; good for both DL & WDW

* same % off APs & MYW tix, limited to immediate family members.

* 10% off dining (TS & CS) and merchandise while DVC guests

jmo; DL offered the enhanced fast pass system (ability to get a FP to every ride w/o time constraints) to onsite guests booking packages in '05; why not offer it to DVC members @ DL & WDW?

A couple of wishes:

First, would like to see the number of AP's you have tied to the number of points you have. Love the AP discount, but don't think it is quite fair for example when a member with only 50 points can get up to 8 AP's (for family in house) and a member with 800 points might get only one or two AP's (because children are out of the house). The member with 800 points pays a LOT more dues than the 50 point contract.
Would like to see them just limit the number or prorate it.

Second, would like to have regular park ticket discounts. Sometimes, I bring family to stay with me.

DVC merchandise that is priced the same as other Disney merchandise.

I don't understand why the polo shirts and other clothing items cost more just because they have the DVC/resort logo on them.

How about our very own park?:lmao:

Actually, I think we should add to that:
1. A special limo ride to each park instead of bus transportion
2. Mickey waiting at our "home" with an apple pie to welcome us
3. And how about a special DVC lounge at each park with a bouncer keeping out the riff-raff:lmao: VIPs only (DVC members that is!)

Hee, Hee:rotfl:

Honestly, I'd be happy with any new perk that is specific to DVC. Many of the food and other perks are the same or similar to AP holders, Disney Visa carriers, AAA (we have all of them, so I'm always amused when the newsletters let us know of these "special" discounts). Other than the AP discount, I don't know of any other DVC specific perks.
