Flight of Passage + People of Size = Disappointing

I rode it today and was a bit concerned but I fit...not sure if it was a close call or not. They did not have to "work with me" but it was definitely snug. For reference..I'm mostly hip, thigh, butt. Size 22-24 bottoms at lane Bryant. 5'6". Luckily for me, "width" side to side doesn't appear to be the issue, it's more front to back size.
In our group of 16, I saw one poor man get escorted out. He wasn't unusually tall but did have a belly. I feel like the people that will have problems are the ones with a "firm" large belly versus the squishy type, if that makes sense.
I also saw a poor couple out front doing something with their fast passes and the girl was crying. I got the impression they tried and had to get off so they were switching passes for them or such. I felt bad for her.

Thank you!! It sounds like we are nearly identical shape/size. I'm 5'7, 293lbs (and shrinking thanks to Weight Watchers), I carry my weight in my mid-section and hips and I wear a Lane Bryant size 22/24 bottom. I've been so concerned that I wouldn't fit but reading all the experiences of people on this thread has really given me hope.

I am 5.3 and wear size 24 shorts and large chested. I have to take prescribed water pills for edema. I have FP+ for my trip in 29 days. I am concerned about whether I will fit or not. Best friends daughter works at AK - she was like 'Aunt Shanan you might have problems on FoP' after I asked her. If it doesn't click when I use the FP+ then I will walk out and go 'ok time to go to another ride' and give me a reason to work towards losing weight for the next trip. Will I be disappointed oh yes!

Just so you know my experience, I used a Fp and did not fit, and the CM outside the ride room was quick to give me and my kids (they rode) FPs. So, and this is just my experience, you're not risking a FP by trying the ride.

I'm not promising they'll do that for you, but they did it for me.

I know there' no definitive answer to this but I am wondering what approximately is the borderline for starting to be worried about fitting. I read someone somewhere claiming that a women's size 10 or higher should start to worry. Is that accurate or a major exaggeration?

I hope you are kidding I am a size 10

When I rode, I was dancing around a 16 (so 14-18 depending on brand) and was just fine.

MAJOR exaggeration. I saw a young woman ride with a little help from a cm. She has to be upper 200s-maybe 310 or so. CMs know which way people will fit best and if they see someone having trouble they will talk you through how to get in position.

Thanks. I was really starting to think I shouldn't ride. I'm about 175 and 5'5". Much of my weight is in my chest and the rest in my belly. My hips and legs are tiny and don't even really look like they match my top half, haha. If I buy a tankini type swim suit, I typically need a small bottom and can barely squeeze into an XL top. I think it seems like based on reading all the descriptions on this post that I will be ok. I just gained about 30 pounds this past year and a half due to some health complications that meant not exercising... so I'm really paranoid.

You will be fine.

I don't know my weight considering I don't believe in scales but my dh just checked my height I 5"3 size 10 so I am more then likely considered over weight but I thought for sure I would fit

I don't remember where I saw it but someone was claiming that "anyone a size 10 or larger should probably be concerned." I figured that sounded rather extreme but I wanted to check in and the response so far have confirmed that to be the case.
No way. This sounds like it was written by someone who was embarrassed about not being able to fit and is implying that thin people should be concerned so as not to seem so big.

Actually, in the beginning there were multiple reports, first and second hand reports, about all body types of people not fitting. Tall people, short athletic people didn't fit. Yet some did. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to it other than the odd positioning of the restraints. Either adjustments were made to vehicles or CMs learned how to position people because that issue is not as prevalent as it was.

I remember those reports. "Size 10," though? Come on.

I am not saying size 10 is something to be ashamed of but I would not call my self thin either

That is a major exaggeration as I was able to ride with no problems wearing a women's size 22-24. And I'm bigger on the bottom (hips/thighs/rear end) than the top.
