GotG Cosmic Rewind AP previews

Just reading "9 times" made me queasy 🤢 :rotfl2:
On the total opposite end of the spectrum the idea of motion sickness at all is so foreign to me. It’s something I don’t understand. I’m thankful mind you. I can imagine it sucks but I had no idea that people were so bothered

Wonder what makes some so sensitive? As a dancer back in the day spinning and such things was a daily norm. Never could do something like that of you suffered from motion sickness from spinning

I never had any issues with any kind of ride until I got past age ummm 30  slowly little things started bothering me over time & I had no idea why so for years I suffered along. A friend one day said I think you have motion sickness & I started taking otc meds to fix it. Wah-lah. It's not perfect, but I can do all the Disney rides now. More intense stuff not so much.

I was getting worried about GOTG after reading reviews here so I was very happy I felt nothing. Although 9 rides in a row might push it as fun as that sounds lol

Rode this 9 times on Sunday. Once for our AP preview at 11:30 (wasn’t off the ride until close to 12:30; there was a fairly long wait) and then 8 times for the D23 event. Got soaked during the thunderstorm that popped up as we waited in the special Harmonious viewing area for the D23 event. Decided not to wait out the rain to watch Harmonious and ended up riding 3 more times before the event ended at 10:30.

It was an incredible experience; we got 5 of the 6 songs during our rides. The only song we never heard was Conga. On ride #5, our Starjumpers rolled backward down one of the hills and the ride shut down for a few minutes. When it started back up, there was no music or lights for the rest of the ride. Never felt any motion sickness and neither did my 60 year old MIL who was with me. I definitely put this at the top of my list of WDW coasters. It was so much fun and I’m really sad that I’ll probably never have a chance to ride it multiple times in a row again.
ETA - Never mind on the date, just realized you were there Sunday, we were there Monday. We watched that nasty storm from the resort. Were going to head to the park but opted to stay in. Lightening was vicious.

You must have gotten caught when the ride went down. The cycle time from when it went down till it restarted was about an hour
I took a photo from when we entered the queue at 11:24
We got on the ride at 11:55 and got stopped about 1/3 way through, roughly. So it stopped at about 11:57ish
They really didn't hold us any time at all before lights came on and they said we were getting escorted. out, not like a normal ride were they give an attempt to restart at least. This was only a minute or two.
We sat close to 30 min total to wait on maintenance to come to lock down the coaster so CM could release the restraints so we could walk out. My pic of the ride with lights on is at 12:02 and that was done before the ride CM came up to us. The CM got to us in maybe 10 min. We were at the higher stop point, so up a lot of stairs. We had to go down a lot of stairs to get out (I think it said 5 levels)
We got back in line in the LL and waited a fair bit till it restarted. I didn't track it exactly but it know our next photo was at 1:33

You mention Conga was the only song you didn't get. That's the song we got on the re-ride. September was the first

It never becomes the last car from what I remember. It's not like Runaway Railway where the cars move.
We got first car on our re-ride. I thought we were in the back for the launch. Then your order changes back again

It’s more like what Everest does but not really. Just in concept of front becoming the back for the reverse part

Sorry I should have been more clearer. I meant in the beginning the first car is in front but at launch when going backwards it’s the last car like Everest. So does it eventually go back to normal like Everest or do the cars just spin around and the train stays the same. Hope I’m explaining better what I’m trying to say!

Ok that’s what I wanted to make sure if I got front car I would eventually get back to being front. Thanks!

More like Everest for the order of the vehicles but with the spinning cars so a mixture I guess. It’s hard to describe/compare/remember

That helps thanks! Going Friday and trying to determine best place for not getting too much motion sickness

I’ll be honest, it’s so fast with so much to absorb it is hard to report precisely what happened. But, the launch is part we did twice, once in the very front and once in the second to last car (loading positions) so I sort of recall that part better. Still not 100% on any of it yet.

Gotcha! 😄

In line right now. Did all the preshow and the ride is now down and we are all waiting patiently and now the lights in the attraction all came on. This could be a while.

Fingers crossed it's the same as when it went down for us, right about an hour. That seems to be the recycle time to reboot/retest/get guests back on time

A couple things I read said CMs told guests who were worried about motion sickness that the best places to sit were middle car and left seat.
There are 10 cars and I was in row 4 in the left seat. I got really, really nauseated after about the first 30-45 seconds. I had taken Dramamine because I was concerned about the roller coaster plus Omni-mover, so I don’t plan to ride again. This was the first time I took anything for motion sickness

I don’t normally get motion sickness except for Teacups; I can ride Dumbo, Magic Carpets and Carousel though and the spinning on things Midway Mania, Rémy, Runaway Railroad and Rise of the Resistance don’t bother me.

Thanks for the specifics! I’ll remember middle car, left, and I’ve already bought Bonine in preparation for our July visit.

Yeah, I was a dancer back in the day, for several years - like three times a week lessons and boxes of elaborate costumes in my basement level dancer. I never suffered any kind of motion sickness until I hit mid-40s. In fact, I can still do spins ice skating and not suffer any type of motion sickness. If I’m controlling my movement, like driving my own vehicle down a windy road, up and down hills, at a high rate of speed, I have no issues. If I’m a passenger, that’s an entirely different story. I have no idea why different things affect people differently, but I’ve definitely changed with age.
