I was a year and a half old and we stayed at the Hojo on Hotel Blvd. Must have made quite the impression because I've been going back many times over.

I was 3, back in 1975! We moved from Naples, Italy-where I was born, to Orlando. We went pretty often after that. With my father being in the Navy, we moved around quite a bit. But we still managed to go often enough. We will be taking our daughter for her first trip in April 2009. I absolutely cannot wait to watch her expierence the magic of Disney for herself. It was one of the best gifts I received as a child, I can't wait to give that to her.

I was 3, almost 4. My parents were divorced and DW is where I would choose to go for vacation every summer. So I would go with my dad, then I would go with my mom and then my grandmother would take me at Christmas time. We lived in FL. In college, we would go about once a month and at least one evening we would play around the world in Epcot and stop and have drinks in every country then head over to Pleasure Island when Epcot closed....

The first time I went to Disney was when I was 9 years old (1983) and stayed at the Poly. I remember that trip so vividly because all I wanted to do was meet Mickey Mouse, and when he came around a corner, I backed off and got scared. :confused3

FYI--not like that anymore.

My mother said it was December of 1971, so that would have made me 4 months old.

Our 1st trip was in the mid-70s and I was a kid. We drove in a big station wagon from Pittsburgh and camped in a tent in Fort Wilderness. :)

I was about one on my first trip, obviously I don't rmember it. Now that I am a mom I realize that the very early year trips are not for the kids memories but for the parents. My kids were 3, 9 months, and 10 months on their first trips. My oldest remember some of her trip, as she was 3, but the younger 2 only know their first trips through stories and photos. I wish I had taken my oldest when she was younger. We didn't have the money to take her sooner (not that that every stopped us), but I thought we should wait till she would remember. That was a mistake. I have wonderful memories of our infants in Disney and wished I had that for DD13. My favorite memory is on my middle daughter teething on Pluto's tongue at Donald's Breakfastasaurus. I will never forget that moment. I always heard the stories of my first trip, how I fell asleep in grandpa's arms and how he walked around carrying me (no stroller I guess), proudly wearing my Mickey ears I must have given to him.
I guess I went off topic... Back to the question, I was about one on my first trip...

My first trip was in 1974 and I was 6. There was just the MK at that time.

I had to drag DH there kicking and screaming at age 24. He thought WDW was just for kids. Let's just say we have been back about 20 time since then! On one trip I brought home a Disney souvenir who is now 13 years old!:rolleyes1

I was 26 and 2 months pregnant with my first son who is now almost 19!
I am feeling older by the minute.
My hope is to take grandchildren some day!

husband and I were both adults...first time fore us was Feb 2003 for our honeymoon... but I grew up going to Disneyland as I was born just down the road from there and lived less than 2 miles away til 1999:woohoo:

I went in 72 when they opened and they had tickets. I wenty back many times later and now am bringing my Kids

This thread is a better fit for the theme parks community board so I'm going to move it over there now.

Our senior class went. So my first time was when I was 17. I didn't really enjoy it because I was so homesick and I missed my boyfriend terribly who is now my DH.:sad2:

I was 21 when I finally got to go to WDW. Growing up in Southern California DL was life for us. We were there constantly. I worked there in HS and college. DW and I went there extensively while dating too. My brother, mother and I wanted to go to FL and see what it was like, but dad never did want to - still doesn't for whatever reason... so I never had the opportunity as a child. At 21, mom asked me to accompany her to FL to visit a specialist doctor for a surgery she needed that he was to perform, in Orlando - and said at the same time, let's go to WDW! I was floored! We had an incredible time. Then my brother flew-in for a couple of days for the actual surgery, and then while she was recovering in the hospital, with her knowledge - we went and spent a couple more days at the world! I loved it. After that some friends and I went, then I took DW there for our honeymoon, and the love affair with WDW was well on it's way... and today living in the midwest we are a bi-coastal family, heading both southeast and west to both resorts each year.

I was one week old when I first went to WDW in 1985. Actually now that I think about it, my mom might have been a CM at the time so I might have been there 40 hours each week while in the belly! The obsession begins.... I guess I really didn't stand a chance
