Illuminations Cruise Central--JULY

Hi there

Anyone looking to share an Illuminations Cruise during JULY? If you have reserved an Illuminations Cruise and are willing to share, please post your date here. Perhaps we can coordinate this and help each other out.

When you post your reply, use the subject box to tell whether you need space (and how many you need) on a cruise or if you have space available and include the dates. I think that might make it a little easier to coordinate a match.

Even with the new changes, you can still get an Illuminations Cruise

There have been some changes made in the Illuminations Cruises. First, they are no longer called Illuminations Cruises, all of the fireworks cruises at WDW are known as "Specialty Cruises" because they cannot guarantee that you will see Illuminations.

There are also daytime "Specialty" cruises. They are booked at two hour intervals beginning at 12 noon. In order to have a chance to see Illuminations, you will need to call 407-WDW-PLAY 90 days in advance and request the 8:00 PM cruise, telling them that you hope to see Illuminations (or the Magic Kingdom fireworks). They will then schedule your cruise for 1/2 hour prior to the beginning of Illuminations.

Why can't they guarantee that you will see Illuminations? These cruises last 45 minutes, only. If, for some reason, Illuminations is delayed, your boat will still return to the marina when 45 minutes have passed, whether or not Illuminations has finished.

This is the first time I have logged in! Have read these boards for many months. I am taking my DW and DD and SIL plus my three grandsons - 7, 2 and 4 mos - to The Boardwalk Wed Jul 6 to Wed Jul 13 this summer 2005.

If anyone gets a fireworks cruise any evening during this period would you be willing to share with this fun family of six? I, too, will be trying daily and if you want the same thing, let me know and I will try to accomodate you if I am successful.

We have always wanted to do this so we are hoping this first post will be a lucky one.

We are a party of 3. It would be me, hubby, and our son who is 9yrs old! We will be over at the Swan during this portion of our vacation!

This will be our 3rd time, I think? Once I called and was successful and once I hitched a ride on a Dis'ers boat!

Hi everyone - i called about the 7/4 boats and they did have one left yesterday for the small price of $450 !! almost jumped out of my skin when she said yes one left then really almost out of my skin when i was told the price she said even breathless was $180 for the night due to it being the 4th of july .. Hope this might help someone who is looking - Michelle

Wow, $450. That is truly amazing and somewhat disappointing. The 4th of July is going to be a sellout for Disney and this seems to border on price gouging. I mean, even if it was divided up by 10-12 people the cost would be more than renting a boat for yourself on any other night.

I just want to encourage everyone to keep trying and calling to get a boat. I was lucky on my third morning od trying last July.

It's even worse than that. I had a cruise booked for the fourth until I found out it was $450, but only for four people. Any extra were $50 per person. Our party of 11 would have cost me $800. (They are requiring you to purchase the Level 3 food plan.)

I'm still sick about it. The let down was tremendous after the initial excitement of actually being able to book one.

Us too! Are you planning to call to reserve a boat? There are four of us interested in going as well - this would be our first time trying something like this. We are staying at OKW and these dates above are perfect for us. It's me, DH and DD (7) and DS (9) I will try to reserve but if anyone else does get these dates we are looking to share.
