Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

Hi everyone, I've never stayed at all before and have booked a standard room with the understanding that there is no guarantee that I will get a partial Savannah view but how do I still put in a request?
Is there a text box somewhere on the room request page to write "partial Savannah view" or if only select categories such as floor levels/closer to x, what have you all chosen to try and improve your chance of getting this view?

Your best bet would be to call Disney directly and have them note the request on your reservation. Others have had success with Touring Plans sending in a room request but I believe you need to have a paid subscription for that service. I believe the online check in only allows you to specify upper floor, lower floor or close to lobby.

I recently did online check in and there were no options. Requests need to be made when making the reservations or as you suggested, with TP.

I just attempted to add room requests to my online check in and it gives me the Option of highest floor, upper floor & near lobby

I have not seen those options for a long time. Maybe because we do RO reservations?

For our reservation next month, the only room request option I see is Upper Floor.

DH and I will be at Jambo in a standard view king room 11/27-11/30! We did 1 night there last year and we're looking forward to a slightly longer stay!

I was also wondering if anyone has up-to-date info on the renovations going on at AKL Jambo, specifically which trails have/ have not been completed and any impact on the pool, lobby, dining and views, as well as time frame for completion. We will be there 2/13-15/2020. TIA!

I have not seen those options for a long time. Maybe because we do RO reservations?

Probably just a glitchy system. Before our reservation was changed to AKL, my reservation at WL would only allow me to select upper floor. FWIW, we have a ticketless package.

Does anyone know what kind of coffee makers they have in the rooms? And do they provide coffee daily?

Can you add us to November? We added two days to the front of our split stay. We'll be there November 28-30 and then again December 5-8 club level.

We have an Animal Kingdom Lodge pool view booked. ANY chances of having a room with a small view of animals with this? It was the only thing available when we booked in our price range

I would say unlikely based on the placement of the pool in relation to the savannah. You might be able to see the flamingo enclosure, but that would be it. The pool view is very nice however, and there are plenty of places around the resort to see animals.
