Jambo! The newest AKL Information thread

I mean a standard view room at AKL (not Jambo or Kidani). So assuming no animals...any benefits to being higher or lower.

A standard view room (not villa) at AKL is by definition in Jambo house. Personally, no I don't think being higher or lower makes much of a difference in this instance. If you want the chance of a partial savanna view I would request that. Otherwise, if there is no specific location you are looking for you don't need to request anything, we hardly ever do.

I have a question if anyone can answer. I stayed at Kidani before but on the north trail, so we always just went in and out at the main entrance. If you were assigned a room further on the south trail, you would be pretty close to Jambo. Is there a way to enter/exit Kidani at the far end of the south trail, or at least closer than walking all the way to the lobby? Besides emergency exits of course!

Oh, and can you add me, Mar 1 - Mar 6, 2020?

Anyone know about progress on Zebra trail refurb? We're about three weeks out from our trip, and I'm wondering if it's worth rolling the dice to request a partial savannah view over there.

Just back and there is construction noise on Zebra pool view due to them sanding the exterior on the top floor. It was loud from the pool bar and the crane is in an area near the main doors to the walkway to Mara.. We were in room 3364 Jambo, Kudu Trail, Sunset Savanna, the farthest room from the lobby. We could see/hear construction going on at Kidani. Will post pictures as soon as I upload them.

Animal views from room 3364 Kudu Trail, Sunset Savanna. The room was a Savanna View, non- connecting, queen beds.
The crane pic was taken from the pool area.
There were 4 giraffes that went by the balcony and would stop and pose. We could also see zebra, ankole cattle, wildebeest, waterbuck, ostrich, addax, gazelle, grey crowned crane , and other animals that were behind a fence. Sorry that the photos are sideways, posted from my phone.

I'm disappointed to see the cranes are still going. They were at Kidani last November when we were there and I thought for sure that this year we wouldn't see them. It will still be a lovely time!

DH and I have stayed there many times but never with our 3 kids. My oldest is peanut allergic and LOVES Boma and we are also staying deluxe to avoid the cheerleaders at the value/mods.
This trip is because 2019 has been a hellish year for me - in Jan i went to the dr with wrist pain and they found a huge tumor that destroyed one of the bones - I've been through multiple surgeries and still healing but this trip gives me something to look forward to....
