July 2012 Who's Going Thread

I didn't see any threads for July 2012. It may be user error on the search engine however. Anyway, I thought I would start one off and since I liked Dizzy4DL's February thread so much I thought I would use her line of organizing (imitation is the highest form of flattery).

We will be at the DLR from July 8 - 14 staying at the DLH. It's our first trip to DLR after many many trips to DW and we are super excited. We are going into this as a new adventure and are trying to ignore all comparisons of the two parks and treat this as a totally new experience. I have always wanted to see Walt's Disneyland.

I will keep a running list of who is going in post two of this thread and try to give some vital statistics for our month in post three.

Everyone jump in and share their advice, tips, hopes, dreams and fears.

Park hours for July:

DL Park Hours for July 1-31 are 8 a.m. to 12 a.m.

DL Extra Magic Hour (from 7 a.m to 8 a.m.) is offered on Su, Tu, Th & Sa to DLR Hotel Guests

DL Magic Mornings (from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.) is offered on Su, Tu, Th & Sa to guests with 3 day or longer Park Hopper & other select tickets. Each ticket receives one use of the Magic Morning benefit. There has been some reported success using MM at DCA on days when the park is open early to Hotel Guests but it is not officially advertised as available by Disney.

DL AP Early Entry (from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m.) is offered on M, W & F to DLR Annual Passholders. Advance Registration is Required to use this benefit.

Fantasmic will be offered at DL at 9 p.m. & 10:30 p.m. on July 1-31

DL Celebrate America 4th of July Fireworks will take place nightly at 9:30 p.m. July 1-4th

DL Magical Fireworks will take place nightly at 9:30 p.m. July 5-31

DL Mickey's Soundsational Parade takes place daily at 4 p.m. & 6:30 p.m. July 1-31

DCA Park Hours for July 1-31 are 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Park Closures

I can find no indication of any park closures for July 2012. It looks like everything will be up and running by that time (fingers crossed). If anyone has any other Intel post it and I'll update.​

We will be going July 14 - 21!!!
This is our first time to venture to the West coast and DL!!

We booked our flights and will b e staying at Desert Palms.

We were going to buy the City Pass as well but will be going to Sea World Texas in August....Thinking now we will get 4 day PH passes for now....would also like to go to a beach too.

It will be DS's 1st trip! I used to live in socal and would go to dland often. It was a big part of my childhood so i'm super excited to get to share it with my son!

July isn't getting here fast enough!

We'll be there July 18 and 19. My husband and I grew up in Burbank so Disney is in our blood. We live in Colorado now so don't get out to LA too often. This will be our first trip to Disneyland in many years.

Our son will be on Catalina Island with Boy Scouts so we thought we'd have a little adult trip to Disneyland and enjoy it at a more relaxed pace.

We'll be there! July 17-20 are our days in the park. It'll be super crowded, super crazy, and super fun! I'm looking forward to seeing DCA. We weren't originally going to go this year, but...well, we couldn't stay away!

I will be visiting Disneyland July 23-28 with my neice and nephew. I have visited Disney World a few times. I am very excited. I am not even going to think about comparing the parks.

We are going July 22-28 and staying at the Candy Cane Inn (CCI). We go every summer but I'm especially excited about all the new things to try. Not only Carsland, but new BV street, Earl of Sandwhich, the Ghirardelli chocolate place, Trader Sam's (we missed it last summer), the new bobsleds... I think there's more but I can't think what else. I feel like 5 1/2 days isn't enough time!

PS- July is my favorite month to go!

We are very excited! We are celebrating my oldest daughter's graduation from high school and my little ones graduation from kindergarten. We went to DL in 2010 and had a blast....can't wait to do it again!!

Cool! My girls are SO looking forward to DL....they both cried as we were on the Disneyland Express heading to the airport last time....yes, both of them....14 and 4 at the time. It was a wonderful, magical time for our little family. We had gone through a very, very traumatic year and it helped us get away from "life" for a week.

We are in a better place now and are just thrilled to be able to go again (3 years ahead of Mommy's schedule LOL). Keep an eye out for a Caucasian mommy with 2 Asian girls who are 10 years apart in age who are with a Nana and Papa in scooters. LOL LOL

We're really hoping to be there July 14-19. I won the One More Disney Day sweepstakes and those are the dates I requested. I'm just waiting to hear back from Disney to see if the dates will work.

We've never been to DL before and we're so excited!!! We're hoping to stay at GCH but again, any one of the three hotels will be great!

*waves* I've been reading the boards for a couple of months to prepare, but this is my first post! We'll be heading to Cali on July 10-16th for our first family vacation ever! I've been to DLR for one day about 10 years ago, but was suffering from a horrific case of sunburn and did not get a whole lot of enjoyment out of it! I do remember watching a show with fireworks and getting non-sunburn-fever-induced chills and thinking it was something special.

So now I get to go with my own family! It will be myself (32) DH (35) our two girls K (she'll be 7) and P (who will be 4) and my wonderful in-laws.

We're flying from Tulsa, OK to SNA and taking a minivan cab to the hotel. I've got 2 rooms booked at Park Vue Inn. We're picking up a rental car on the 14th and heading to San Deigo for a day at the zoo, spending the night in SD and then spending a morning (Sunday) at Comic-Con (we are huge geeks -got married on the Enterprise in Las Vegas!) while the in-laws visit the Midway/maritime museum. Then it's an afternoon at the beach, thinking of taking the ferry from the convention center to Coranado Island and visiting Coronado Beach. The next day is the last with a late afternoon flight and we're hoping to make quick stops at The Children's Pool and perhaps La Jolla Cove.

Whew, so our Disney Days are July 11,12,13 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday. We are getting the military parkhoppers so no Magic Morning-ness.

I'm soooo excited, but still have tons of questions/thoughts and look forward to reading more about everyone else's plans!

We got our itinerary from Disney today and we will definitely be there from July 14-19 and we'll be staying at DLH. I was really hoping for the GCH but can't complain.
