I have a question regarding coordinating a reservation that's going to be canceled. For those that have done it, can you tell me approximately how quickly it appeared from the scheduled time the person said they would drop it? One minute? Two? Ten? Going to attempt this and I'm very afraid somehow I won't get it.

Suggestions?

It has always appeared at the exact time that I refreshed the screen when it came to the time the person said they would drop it. I also have a pretty slow internet connection at home and have had the same luck on my phone as well.

QUESTION OF THE DAY!!!

Do you take time to visit the characters in the parks or do you book character meals or are you just a park fiend and not into the characters??


We only book character dining to meet the characters we want, never do it during the park except at MK to visit with Mickey Mouse and Tinkerbell! Once cast members asked us if we wanted to see Baymax in Epcot because there was no line, so of course we went in for that and that was pretty cool! LOL

Use the app and the website. I did one and it didn't show up on the website but did show up on the app.

Make sure you're selecting the hour, not "lunch" or "dinner", etc. Also match the exact number of the reservation

It usually shows up pretty close to the time the person drops it. I did have a problem a few weeks ago when I tried to coordinate with another dis member. The reservation never came up available for them after I dropped it. I was bummed for them.

We do character meals & meet them in the parks. My youngest loves to meet characters so we meet as many as we can.

Mostly character meals. But if there is a character and the line isn't too bad we may stop while in the park too.

My ADR window finally opened. I wasnt 100% successful but got the difficult ones.

Dec 28 Beaches and Cream (we want ESPN but couldn't get it. I think I will call and maybe will get lucky)
Dec 29 Sci Fi (we got lunch but want dinner. I will keep tying)
Dec 30 Whispering Canyon
Dec 31 Tepo Edo
Jan 1 Ohana breakfast, 1900 Park Fare dinner
Jan 2 50"s prime time

I started with the New Year's Eve and New Year's Day thinking they would be the hardest, but then it ended up the earliest dates were the ones I couldn't get. I am not worried because we got something. Rest time now until October and FP+.

QOD:
This is the first year we will not be using FP on Princess M/G. My kids are more interested in rides. We have 2 character breakfasts and we will wait in line for some others. Its also the reason I haven't booked Photopass (which I always do). I am thinking fewer character greets will mean less photo opportunity.

I don't know if it's changed recently, but I thought ESPN only accepted reservations for lunch hours Monday-Friday. So depending when your looking maybe that could be part of it?

Regarding QOD:

I am an annual passholder so yes I take opportunity of meet and greets and have photopass as one of my annual pass perks!

Does MK still do fireworks and all the other regular events on days that the Christmas party happens?

Yes but only for party guests...Christmas parades and fireworks are only for those who attend the parties...day guests will have to leave the park by 6pm...its not until after parties end that the holiday parades and fireworks are shown for day guests (I think during Christmas week)...

Just last night my two girls and I decided to visit the wonderful world of Disney from the 16th to the 23rd of December. This is our first time visiting the park during the holidays and we could not be more excited!

I was wondering if there was a schedule out for all the dates of MMVCP? We are just not that interesting in it and would rather spend the money elsewhere at disney. We are only doing four day one-park tickets since we are staying off-site and would obviously not want to waste a park ticket going to MK if it closes at 6 pm.

You are correct. I did not realize that but when I called they told me. We can risk a walk up, keep our Beaches and Cream res, or try another place. I am unsure at this point.

Sundays are exceptionally hard because it's one of the few places on property that play the football games.
And I see you're looking at a Thursday night which is also a football night.

So happy I got the Candlelight processional on 12/16 for Trace Atkins and on 12/21 for Neil Patrick Harris. I could only get the 5pm show on 12/21 but glad I got it.
