Uh Oh, Universal raised its parking fees on the 20th. They also announce the elimination of the Poterverse Event which has been held each year since 2014. More cuts and higher costs.

Actually, it's only been eliminated for this year so they can get the new ride up and operational.

That is nuts, but my local park went from $8 to $20 in the middle of the summer, so it isn't completely out of line.

Our local parks offer free parking, and have been for at least a couple decades

For our November 2016 trip, we priced staying on-site. For 7 days in a value resort, with "free" dining and six day non hopper tickets for a family of four was $4400. That did not include the rental car, cost of getting to WDW, etc.

We stayed off site, paid for parking and our total vacation cost was @$2400, with most of that for the cost of tickets. And, we stayed in a two bedroom condo with a full kitchen and living room and free parking.

We've been priced out of staying on property......

IMHO, Disney should give us a break on parking when you pay for tickets that are 4 or more days. Parking has become a sore spot for me. If our off property resorts did have shuttles, we'd gladly take them!

Agree 100% with all of what you said, but especially about free parking with longer tickets. That would be an excellent perk. Heaven knows you're paying far more than enough for the tickets.
