Renting points

If you rent points from a DVC member. Are you eligible for the free dining?
Also would said member also be able to purchase hopper passes for you as well ? Thanks in advance!

"Free" dining requires you to book a package with Disney that has several requirements, such as paying rack rate for the room and buying tickets.

If you rent DVC, you are dealing with an individual and not Disney and you are certainly not paying the equivalent of rack rate - so no, "free" dining is never an option with a points stay. Never ever.

With a points stay, there is no ticket requirement, so you are on your own. Undercover tourist is a good option.

Chances are that you will save more money renting DVC points from an owner and paying for the dining plan, than if you were to pay for a hotel stay and get free dining. But you will have to run the numbers for your stay.

Remember when renting DVC you want to start looking at renting 12-11 months ahead of time. This might not let you see what the cost difference is, because "free dining" doesn't get allocated till a time closer to your vacation dates.

And to answer your second question - They could buy your tickets for you but why? It's not like they can get you a special deal on them. You would be better off going through one of the online ticket sellers like Undercover Tourist or Maple Leaf Tickets.

You can link the tickets you buy on your MDE. You also link your reservation number from your DVC owner on your MDE. Once you've done so it operates very much like a cash stay. If you want the dinning plan and want to purchase it I believe your owner must do so for you & DVC requires that you pay the whole thing up front. Make sure your owner is ok w/ adding the dinning plan for you if that's your plan.
